MaiMai first time play

Surprisingly, the game was available in the arcades at Tampines Mall’s Timezone finally. It was probably thankful to the Asian release of the game sometime this month and I had the opportunity to play it for the first time.

But before that, I had a shy feeling about this but this is no Kinect game nor the dance game. It is something like Samba De Amigo but on the washing machine. Also, there were like two people playing this like the beginners or so but it seemed that the guy had some experience with certain songs in rhythm gaming. After playing Project Diva Arcade for like one more time with two songs only, I eventually moved on to play Maimai. The serious downside though, there’s no headphone jack and the volume is freaking soft that I ended up struggling to keep up even though I know certain songs. I started off with four of those Vocaloid songs in Advanced difficulty and on the second run, I had the A rank as the result for two songs in that run because in the first run, I had the B rank which didn’t count as clearing the songs. I guess that things are kind of brutal like this but having to play co-op will not be easy due to different skill level, knowledge level and experience level of rhythm gaming between the two players. Even worse is that the game is even more expensive for each quarter than say, Project Diva Arcade as it costs like $2.80 each quarter. Multiply by two for four songs which may be equal to two runs and you get $5.60. That is $1.60 more expensive than playing Project Diva Arcade with four songs with each run being $2 but it can be a waste of a dollar if you choose one song mode.

I don’t know if there can be Nico Nico Douga videos of foreign players playing MaiMai due to the fact that some account card is required if you want to play additional account exclusive songs as playing as a guest will be less worth it.

Songs played in MaiMai today are:

  • Luka Luka Night Fever
  • W****’s *** Dancehall
  • Happy Synthesizer
  • Zigg-Zagg

Google’s 14th Birthday

Now it’s time to Tell Your World again with Google’s 14th Birthday today. On Google’s Search Engine, you’re able to see the animated birthday cake representing Google. The downside though, the link leads to the only word in the search box, ‘Google’. Is there a reason not to enter things like ‘Google’s 14th Birthday’ for example instead?

Well, let’s make sure that Google keeps up their work with fun and other business activities as long as the projects are completed on time with proper quality and resources. Sure they have equal musical power of various young modern artists including the unusual and virtual ones who are featured in Google Chrome Japan commercials.

Jubeat Saucer

In addition to the update for IIDX Tricoro, there is also the initial release for Jubeat Saucer that took place yesterday. For Jubeat Coupious Append, it features certain BEMANI crossover songs that Jubeat Saucer also has but according to some Bemani Wiki, Jubeat Saucer is said to be the first one to feature Bemani crossover songs. In addition, the soundtrack of this game will be out in November 21st. However, we don’t even know what are the new songs that are exclusive to Jubeat Saucer not because the game was just released yesterday. Speaking of songs list, it is the first game to have the certain songs removed by having 15-20 existing songs replaced with the new ones. The songs can be licensed ones, Bemani crossovers or entirely new songs so keep a look out for this occurrence every month which may be why it can be time consuming for the ones behind the wikis to keep on researching and updating them actively.
Lastly for IIDX Tricoro, the update already took place yesterday but we don’t know about what’s new in the update. I assume that the update may contain additional stuffs, additional songs, etc, but we may have doubts that the remaining machines running IIDX Lincle would be upgraded to IIDX Tricoro so that people can have the high definition experience.

New Itunes in October

This is the new Itunes from Apple whose player skin is redesigned with newer library views for smarter collection. From each Album in the Albums view, you can expand and preview the tracks you want to listen to. You can choose to buy the song or perhaps the entire album which is powered by ITunes Store. There’s also the New MiniPlayer which may be something like Windows Media Player in Mini Mode or something.

Then there are bonus features such as instant recommendations and you can choose What’s Up Next. It’s sort of like the homepage of YouTube with video recommendations as if ITunes will suggest music you may have never found on your own. Will that be a good suggestion? Already know what you want to listen to? Then you can use the new Up Next feature in ITunes that lets you select a song and easily queue it to play next or last depending on the song order you may want to arrange.

The interface will be changed for computers and IOS devices so the program will work the same wherever you shop for new music, movies, TV Shows and even more. The Preview History which is again powered by ICloud, allows you to keep the preview history up to date across all your devices that are powered by that cloud service. Preview History is the quick rundown of all the music, movies and TV shows you’ve sampled. Furthermore, the music, TV shows and movies you’ve bought from ITunes store will be synchronized with ICloud so that you can play on any device with ICloud whether you go such as your IOS device for example after buying the music on your computer from ITunes Store.

Beatmania IIDX 20 Tricoro

Finally, the latest in the IIDX series was released yesterday but the upgrade will happen in September 25th which is 5 days away from now. This is the first IIDX game with HD graphics which may have shifted from the 640X480 resolution to 1280X720. Previously, for first to ninth styles, the resolution is actually 4:3 but the visuals are purposely squashed to make the whole thing fittable into widescreen monitor. The widescreen monitor eventually stretches the game’s resolution to 16:9 screen mode and that looks impressive even until today with 19th Lincle. The gameplay interface is redone for high definition and the results screens pictures return ever since the previous IIDX games. However, the total notes information is longer on song results screens and the song results screen is somewhat different in this one compared to previous IIDX games. Normally, you get to see the song results screen with the number of notes done from poorly to perfectly as well as the total number of notes depending on the song. To add more freedom, you can move the score graph and the video panes to whichever location you want as well as see how you rank on a specific song against other players in the same game. It may be similar to other rhythm games when comparing your scores against other players’ in specific songs in specific difficulties.

Apple IOS 6 Arrived

Finally, IOS 6 arrived yesterday and I forgot to blog about it as well as the new Itunes in which I will try to do that later. Here are the apps we’re going to talk here but more of these can be found in this link: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/

  • Facebook – As the social networking site is way too popular, it is now part of the IOS 6 so that there’s no reason for you to obtain that from the App Store but will the app become more improved? In IOS6, you can share photos, locations from Maps app, high score from Game Center app and other stuffs to Facebook easily. Also, the Facebook events and contacts are integrated into your Apple account similar to the integration done to your other existing email accounts. New to IOS6 includes the Facebook Like button on ITunes and App Store.
  • Shared Photo streams – People using ICloud on IOS 6 device or Mac running Mountain Lion can get photos delivered immediately in the Photo app or Iphoto through Photo Streams. You can also view Shared Photo Streams on Apple TV since the latest generation of Apple TV is based on IOS that you can view the photos with the power of ICloud although we’re not sure if there will be IOS 6 for Apple TV. There’s also the web viewing of Photo Streams similar to viewing photos on Skydrive or other cloud storage services.
  • Mail – There will be photo and video attachments on the messages but for videos, it is not an easy feat no matter what. There’s also the VIP list which is exclusive to IOS 6 to indicate which messages are important to you. It’s going to be freaking useful but THAT KIND OF PRIORITY should be released earlier in the first place like having the new special folder that contains important messages only. When they’re marked as important , there should be a new special folder like what IOS 6’s VIP folder has.
  • Safari – New to IOS 6 includes the cloud bookmarks similar to other web browsers like Google Chrome in which you can synchronize the bookmarks. Also, you can even view webpages offline as well as in full-screen landscape.
  • Find My Friends – There are lots of apps that share your location to social networking sites but this one is IOS 6 exclusive as I don’t think this can be in IOS 5 and below. Using the map, your friends can be located on where they are in this app which you may want to take some opportunity to go to the places your friends have gone to one day or perhaps ensure that your friends remain as safe as possible.
  • App Store and ITunes Store – You can see what’s new in music, movies, TV shows, apps and other stuffs at the top of each store’s home page. Keep track of the ones you’ve previewed with the History button and when you’re ready to obtain, tap Buy to add something to your collection whether they are free or paid but be careful, you do not want to run into those things that are kind of stupid, not working or even plagued with other flaws. Like cloud bookmarks, the history for these stores is iCloud powered.

Office for Windows RT

What do you get when you use Office Desktop edition on the tablets? You get a the fully functional but with un-friendly touch interface. Even worse is that the Desktop app is still un-friendly to the tablet devices no matter how clean and simple the interface is. So, to get around the problem for using Office on tablets, you’re going to need the external keyboard and the mouse as long as they are USB compatible devices. That’s what you can get when using Desktop app because it’s difficult to tap on things like that. Once you’re finished, simply drag from top to bottom of the screen to close the Desktop app so that you can continue to use other Metro apps. Other than Office 15 and Internet Explorer 10, other desktop apps are not allowed so Windows RT may seem to be suitable for Metro apps which may be useful for tablets. In fact, having the Microsoft Surface device that runs Windows 8 Pro is kind of unacceptable to exist because the Desktop app is quite difficult to use with touch.

Last year, there was a question on whether the developers could develop the ARM version of Office and they did. So this led to Steve Ballmer to do the demo on Word and PowerPoint on ARM devices during the Consumer Electronics Show.

Office for Windows RT will be optimized to be Touch-Enabled, Portable with the ability to run on battery for long periods of time, having memory capabilities to start at 2GB and so on. Wow, 2GB of memory capabilities? Does it mean that 2GB of RAM and above is required on tablets? Perhaps you can to buy Asus Vivo Tab and its RT counterpart tablets for maximum performance.

For the new Office to take less energy of the CPU, Windows 8 adds the new coalescable timers which allow programs to be more battery-life friendly by specifying a range of time to wake up rather than an absolute interval to save battery life, compared to Windows 7 and below which was still ticking that you were guaranteed to wake up every ~16ms. Also, for Office 2k10, there were some situations where applications would wake up the CPU more than 1000 per minutes when the system goes idle but with the new Office, the developers have reduced that by 95% when the user isn’t interacting with the program. To save the battery life even more, the blinking cursor where you type in the text stops blinking after a few seconds if the user stops interacting with the application. However, this can get you lost on where you are in if you drift too far away from editing your documents so this one is kind of flawed in saving battery life.

For Windows Update in Windows 8, I bet that this is suitable for normal computers, not tablets because this is not how you update your tablets running Windows like that. Having to patch Windows RT with a bunch of updates is a huge no-no to us which may cause delays like that and multi-language support in Windows RT is kind of flawed as you may end up using the desktop Control Panel to do the installation which can also cause delays like spending time in doing the installation. THAT IS ANOTHER FLAW IN USING WINDOWS RT IN MULTIPLE LANGUAGES, EVEN WITH SSD, IT TAKES TIME TO INSTALL! But, can they find a way to save time from doing that stupid installation?

For Office 15 as well as Windows RT combined, things may be extra costly with Mobile Network enabled so it’s best to use cloud technology by Wi-Fi only and thankfully, Office for Windows RT is able to warn you about this.

And lastly, how the hell can you import stuffs onto your documents as well as open and save documents in Office for Windows RT? Will that open up that freaking Open/Save As dialog box in desktop form for example?

Final flaw will include confusing Metro interface in Office 15 for tablets. When the buttons are not hovered, they remain button-less and become the links made of icons and texts compared to the interface of the past. Perhaps Office 15 for Windows RT is overall okay to use so be glad that they didn’t screw this up.

Kokuga for 3DS

There comes another game from G.Rev and it will be bound for September release. Basically, it’s a Tank Action game that has the shmup elements. It may seem to look like an action game than a shmup game because you’re moving the tank manually around the map. I may assume that having another thumb-stick may improve the gameplay or something due to the use of twin-stick action. One to move the tank, the other to move the weapon. On the bottom screen, you can apply special weapons and other stuffs on the cards. Up to four players are available for Co-Op action but I don’t know if that is an inaccurate idea or not. The foreground layer consists of 3D solid polygonal graphics while the background layer consists of the normal 3D graphics but the background layer takes place inside stage with the outside being the gradient filled background. Another downside of the game is that there are pixelated graphics and the gradient shading doesn’t seem to be full enough. This may look like a PSP game on steroids in terms of graphics.

RIPE NCC is soon running out of IPv4 addresses

Well, if you have been knowing things about IPv4, IPv6 and other networking technology, you probably may just be aware that we’re already running out of IPv4 addresses but RIPE NCC isn’t the only one that is going to run out soon that we might need to migrate to IPv6. Today, I’m still IPv6 enabled although having to get my computer connected to it may be inaccurate. Starting with IOS 6, you’re able to get IPv6 support which may be neat in the future.

RIPE NCC, the regional internet registry for Asia, Europe and Middle East has warned that it’s down to assigning its last set of the remaining IPv4 addresses as of this week and perhaps by this year of in the future, the IPv4 will soon be completely empty of supplies as if we’re running out of supplies, resources and other tools needed to continue on that there may be signs of hunger strike or something coming in.

There will be lots of information to find out at www.ripe.net as there will be too much to explain in the blog here.

Game Center Love Plus Pengo

There may be rumors that this upcoming game by Triangle Service will be released for Sega RingEdge 2 which is the successor to the original RingEdge. Previously, only Pengo was the first part of the compilation and people thought that Sega planning this remake but then this is all Triangle Service’s doing all along because there are three other games in this compilation.

The first one is Action Love which is basically containing the platforming stuff, beat-em-up stuff and other stuffs that don’t seem to be controlled with the arcade controller. The funny part of that game is when you button-mash on three buttons like trying to tap the door-bell as many times as you can within the time limit, you can then know how annoying this is upon doing this AND that no one DARES to do this in real life. There’s also the run similar to 100M Dash from Konami’s Track and Field but you know what’s annoying, the screen rotates in anyway it wants during the run so you have to keep up. Having to move the joystick left and right during the 100M Dash can result in many complaints regarding the control concept for the gameplay that involves breaking so much joysticks. There are other stages like whacking stuffs once they come out of the hole but what’s the point of playing properly like that when the whole hammer is controlled with the normal controller. This is kind of bullshit in terms of control concepts and that’s the first flaw of the compilation.

The second one is Shmups Skills Test and is basically the Four Player 4:3 Horizontal Screen Orientation version of the game itself. It was originally released on Sega NAOMI arcade as part of Shooting Love 2007 where the whole game is vertical screen entirely but here, the gameplay is completely extended horizontally.

The third one is CombatZeal which turns out to be the something like the versus shmup game or perhaps the next Shmups Skills Test. There may be power-ups to disturb the other players but the flaw is that your playing field may end up blocking the other when rotated to horizontal screen.

The last one is Pengo and now the huge money is going to be sacrificed on having four machines connected to the network for 8-Player support which may seem to be complicated and every arcade center is bound to be buying four cabinets of this compilation itself.

Last flaw, the game is still looking like the 128-Bit generation with no generation shift whatsoever as if the music, sounds and the graphics are likely to be the same.

Puyo Puyo 7 Obtained

Recently, I signed up for the Playstation Network this year so that I can buy more games from that service and this one is one of these PSP games that I bought for use on my Vita. Due to the use of newer networking technology, network security technology or whatever applied to my broadband connection with the UPS thing that can reduce the subscription fees, it seems that I’m not able to get my PSP connected to that network for internet access so the whole console is completely offline nowadays. Even worse is that my PSP console is getting ass in getting connected to my DIR-615 router as well. From now on, games purchased from the PSN store will be played on my Vita because the Playstation Vita has the modern features of today’s technology compared to the Playstation Portable which has the older networking support.

From what I saw upon playing this on the Vita, the graphics are all pixelated but if you tap and hold down the screen on the Vita during the PSP game, you’re able to do additional configuration but it seems that this game, Puyo Puyo 7 doesn’t seem to be making use of 3D graphics or some sort. It’s completely 2D but at least the visuals should be staying that way. Not to mention that you can tap on the corners of the screens provided that you have configured which corner triggers which button and you can assign right analog stick to be the same as the left analog stick or perhaps the D-Pad but that doesn’t seem to help you a lot in 3D games like that compared to 2D ones as if the right analog stick is kind of extra for me. Unfortunately, you can’t even take a screenshot of PSP games which is kind of bullshit to me.

Now, about Puyo Puyo 7 for the PSP, the new feature is the new gameplay that combines everything from the previous rules of gameplay as well as the newer ones. You can start to have Large Block Mode or Small Block Mode for Fever Mode. The option in the middle before you start the battle is likely to be the default or some sort. When you enter the Fever Mode, the character will transform into the personal style which may resemble the style of the previous games. In addition, if you’ve chosen Large Block Mode for Fever Mode you’re to keep on chaining yourself as each chain adds to one relatively. It’s not that the chain count will be reset after the chain reaction ends so it will keep on increasing whether you’ve performed one or two chains. So it’s like having performed a chain and then two more chains from the next chain reaction will calculate to three total chains you’ve performed. The longer the chain count, the fiercer the attack. But if you’ve chosen the Small Block Mode for Fever Mode, basically is the same Fever Mode but with smaller blocks for more powerful chain reaction. Unfortunately, it’s hard to place or see the blocks like that even if you’ve hooked up the portable console to the TV or you’re playing this on the Wii.

Meanwhile before I bought this game, there was like a bunch of people playing In The Groove like they were marching in the circles and playing at the same time. Sure I might have seen a video of a bunch of people moving to the next machine during the gameplay of Jubeat to the song, Bass 2 Bass and that video took place in China. If you’re a group of people trying to play like that at the arcades, try not to get caught or intercepted by some retards out there who dare to say that your playing is kind of crazy. What about double-playing rhythm games? Will those retards call you crazy for that? Well, if your friends see one, they will obviously drive those retards away from the arcades while watching you double-play. It may be cool to double-play rhythm games and DDR and Beatmania series are already the cool examples but double-playing in video games is not gonna be an easy challenge to step into.

MaiMai English release in September 6th

At this moment, we don’t even know where the game is released in English language in September 6th as the Locations page is missing. It will take the developers some time to add that page to the English site of the game. One more update from this game is that it will feature songs from other Sega games that was recently announced in September 10th. This features the songs from Rhythm Thief, Virtua Fighter and Feel the Magic. Those songs will be under Extend Genre. Hell, the update was already released today but damn, I need to some time in researching on where this game be found around my country as I believe that there may be an Asian release of this game with the Western release being unlikely to me.

Arrival of Iphone 5 and Ipod Touch 5th Gen Part Two

Now, about the Ipod Touch 5th Gen which is comparable to Iphone 5, the Ipod Touch 5th Gen will be released in multiple colors. There will be features that are also used in Iphone 5 but Ipod Touch 5th Gen will come with The Loop. Well, The Loop, huh? That should be a feature for Iphone 5 in the first place in addition to Ipod Touch. Well, whatever, this accessory can somewhat decrease a security a bit but you can somewhat wear it on your hand while holding the device.

Unfortunately, unlike Iphone 5, the Ipod Touch 5th Gen will be using A5 DUAL-CORE. How do you like that when Iphone 5 uses the A6 SOC when it looks like the new chip?

Another downside is that the Ipod Touch 5th Gen will be released sometime in October compared to Iphone 5 so I may have to wait even longer or so.

Arrival of Iphone 5 and Ipod Touch 5th Gen

Yesterday, Apple announced the new Iphone and Ipod Touch as well as the new ITunes which is version 11.

If the previous models were not light enough, they have come up with such a remarkably thin and light design but then, it’s nearly impossible to make a device that thin and light without sacrificing features or performance. From the interface of IOS 6, it may seem to be the same but having to make things clean and modern like trying to make things fast is like sacrificing the visuals already.

For Iphone 5, it contains the usage of nano-SIM card, which is 44% smaller than the micro-SIM cards. They also developed a unique cellular solution for it. Previously, there’s one voice chip and one data chip for the previous models but for Iphone 5, they are merged into one whole chip which can save some space needed for other stuffs. Also, the Lightning connector which is intelligent and reversible and 80% smaller than the 30-pin connector. In addition, the 8MP iSight camera has even more features like panorama and dynamic low-light mode and yet it’s 20% smaller. Finally, the new A6 chip is up to 2X faster than the A5 chip but 22% smaller. With all these features being small, the Iphone 5 is overall lighter than Iphone 4S.

This year, there will be new EarPods from Apple which may look different than the earpieces of Apple we’re currently using. Furthermore, the Apple EarPods can provide stronger protection from sweat and water and they’re remarkably stable in the ear but the thing is, can the wires for this be even longer?

In addition, the Iphone 5 will have the ultrafast wireless adapter that doesn’t sacrifice battery life but what about the adapter that connects to the Data Network which can be costly? What’s also new in Iphone 5 is the widescreen resolution mixed with Retina Display similar to Android devices. So in the future, the games will be using widescreen mode for Iphone 5 and Ipod Touch 5th as well as Android devices with widescreen resolution as if the games will not be compatible for Iphone 4 and Ipod Touch 4th Gen and below. You can try to squeeze the 4:3 game as if the whole game is suited for 16:9 display while it can be compatible for Ipod Touch 4th Gen and Iphone 4 as well as the newer versions of IOS devices but who knows. Due to the use of widescreen display, the devices will be in widescreen and you get to watch widescreen videos without the worry of letterboxing. Unfortunately, the resolution is still not enough to match today’s standard HD resolution, 1280X720 so you’re better off watching on today’s notebook computer or Ipad devices if you will. You can also watch HD videos without pixel-loss on Android devices with HD resolution.

Using LTE wireless technology, it is able to bring about the faster wireless connection. In addition, Iphone 5 can support more networks globally. That includes advanced networks such as HSPA, HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA. The Dual-band 802.11n can accelerate the Wi-Fi speed of up to 150Mbps. Even better is the even longer battery life of up to 8 hours of browsing on a cellular connection, up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 10 hours of video playback time. What about the games and other apps that take a whole lot of the battery life?

(Sigh), when it comes to taking pictures with the camera technology, the noise is freaking everywhere. I can use the Webcam for video capture which is fine after making things sharper with proper Focus adjustments but even then, the noise is still there. Can the Iphone 5 and Ipod Touch 5th Gen reduce the noise? And best of all, you can capture a 1080p video to be displayed on the TV.

For the Lightning connector, it is somewhat thinner than the 30-pin Adapter we have been using but if you still want to use the old connector for Iphone 5, you’re going to need the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter for this.

Other features may include AirPrint, AirPlay and Built-In Apps for Iphone 5. For the improved Mail, you can see more portions of the messages thanks to the widescreen support on Iphone 5 and Ipod Touch 5th Gen. You can view the attachments from the messages but be careful, there are technical factors for the attachments. You can add photos or videos to emails but for videos, they may be too large so what’s the freaking point of adding videos as the attachments. There’s also the ICloud support for Mail but I don’t happen to be receiving lots of mail on that account so I’m already sticking on to Hotmail and AOL accounts on my Ipod Touch.

The Iphone 5 will be available in September 21st.

Idolmaster Shiny Festa September Update

There is a new feature called Star of Festa Mode in which this five day event is locked until you earn enough fans and improve your idol unit rank. Well, this one may seem to be easy enough because it’s a different game than the original Idolmaster series where you have to manage the idols you want and besides, the games are in Japanese entirely.

According to the details from Famitsu magazine, each day in this new mode has three songs to play. The third stage is an idol battle where your idol unit group will battle live against other idol groups but who knows what’s with Project Jupiter nowadays after getting out of 961 Productions due to finding out the tyrant and nasty actions of President Kuroi. If you defeat the rival idol group, you’ll get the business card as a reward. The mode takes place over five days where votes are cast on which idol unit is the best so your job is produce well and make sure you can defeat the weaknesses that are going at you and other fans.

Playstation Vita Cover Obtained

No new games to buy yet for the console but I do have just obtained the plastic cover for the console similar to the cover for the Playstation Portable but upon applying it, I just realized that the cover is not as good as the previous cover I have.

Meanwhile after purchasing this, I got a Perfect Grade for Nekomimi Switch in Hard Mode in Project Diva Arcade but this is not the first time I got one though. The two previous Perfect Grade occurrences happened to me when playing Project Diva F on the Vita and those were in Normal Mode difficulty. I still have a long way to go after completing all the songs in Normal Mode. In the meantime, you can try various challenges in Project Diva F but be warned, some of the help items are brutal enough that you will be graded down for using them no matter how well you’ve done to the song.

DJ Max Mobile for IOS

There are previous versions of DJ Max Mobile series released for Korean cellphones and this year, there will be the upcoming IOS version. What kind of gameplay will this be and will this be released in Korea first this fall? Right now on YouTube, there is only the teaser trailer video and it doesn’t give us whatever details unfortunately.

Now, there is already a game on IOS by Neowiz Internet called TapSonic which contains DJ Max series songs which are ridiculously difficult depending on the songs and the K-Pop songs in which I may appreciate of normally. For this year’s update of the game, you’re able to play a different song everyday for free tree times so the next day you play the game, you’re given another different song and each song as part of some event will be given three attempts. It may increase some kind of replayability. Unfortunately, the feature as part of the update that allows you to increase the music points by completing three stages and then tweeting for example to get the points is gone. Interestingly enough for westerners, there may be western songs as well in TapSonic.

So for DJ Max Mobile for IOS, I may guess that the gameplay will be based on the original DJ Max series, DJ Max Technika series or both but we’ll get to find out more after this article.

Dreamy Theater Extend for Playstation 3 Update

Well, it’s kind of shameful that the previous Project Diva games didn’t seem to make it to the Asian Playstation Network so that the sales can be boosted that way and in fact, it should be the same for the Playstation 3 versions. If Project Diva F had made it to Asian PSN, who knows if the Playstation 3 version will?

According to Siliconera, the game for the Playstation 3 will be released on September 13th and include the live mode where you can rotate the camera and six modules taken from Project Diva Arcade. Just like the previous Dreamy Theater series, you’re still going to need the original game on the PSP, PSP console, Playstation 3 console AND your Playstation Network but what’s the point since the Dreamy Theater games are on Japanese PSN?

Galaga Legions DX for Windows Phone

Galaga Legions DX for Windows Phone? If that was obviously not enough after the 3DS release which looks kind of inferior to the home console version, here comes the touchscreen version. Well, you can probably drag around the screen to move the ship but the way you move is kind of delayed and flawed. What were the developers doing like this? Had they even taken the look at other shmup games on the smartphone devices and especially referred to Galaga 30th anniversary for Iphone? Okay, for Gaplus, you can move even more besides moving left and right but for Galaga Legions DX for Windows Phone, the way you MOVE the ship is BULLSHIT AND FLAWED! And that is ONE disappointing flaw of the game that will surely piss you off while playing it. Another flaw is that some of the graphical details are missing in Windows Phone version but at least, this version is graphically superior to 3DS version. You can move the right stick to adjust your firing angle as well as to tap the button that triggers the firing pattern as well as the satellite formation pattern.

It was originally released for XBLA and PSN and I already got this game on Xbox 360 and had some fun blasting the enemies off the screen. However, there are two flaws. First, the effects when taking out normal enemies are kind of lazily done but the thing is, the whole visuals are futuristic and everything has glows which may be visually attracting. Second flaw is that there may be parts of each stage that may be out of place to the story line compared to the original Galaga Legions while the gameplay is kind of improved for more fun in DX version. Overall, the game is worth buying on XBLA, PSN and 3DS but for Windows Phone version, it is kind of mediocre like that due to some bullshit lazy controls that are bound to be pissing you off or some sort and the gameplay is like slow or some sort. Buy this version if you want but then, I recommend that you buy the HD console version instead.

The video is by WMExperts so it is here in this blog to show you how this version of the game looks like.

Windows Server 8 was here yesterday and so was the Cloud OS

OK, I didn’t even notice it but it seemed that the Building Windows 8 and Office Next blogs don’t seem to be updating a lot today but then, Windows 8 and its server variant had already gone RTM all along last month. The server OS is designed to put the spotlight on the transformational shift underway across the entire IT ecosystem. This transformation is being driven by the exponential growth of devices used for smarter, more personalized applications, which in turn cause the explosion of data and the need for more computing power. Can this server OS power the cloud technology with the help of Windows Azure so that we clients can get the cloud technology and apps from that?

With cloud computing technology, you’re able to share data between your devices and servers behind the cloud computing service. In addition to data, there is also the easy account connection in which one service makes use of your social networking accounts and email accounts which make your accounts grow and spread like cells.

Windows Server 8 features the new storage technology with advanced storage, networking, virtualization just like its predecessors, automation and end user access capabilities. But with such simple GUI and features like that, can this operating system perform even faster? In fact, why the hell do you want the Metro GUI for Windows Server 8? On the servers, it’s gonna be awkward to use starting from the Start Screen, Logon screen and even the Charms Bar which is kind of worse to the users ever since the Start Button is gone. Login screen is fine but what’s worse for Windows Server 8 compared to the original Windows 8 is that, you’ve really got to put up with the Start Screen, Charms Bar and even the applications in both Metro and Non-Metro styles which may overall cause a business catastrophe. At least for Windows 8, there are already solutions for us, the desktop, laptop and tablet users in which for desktops, you can get rid of the Start Screen, Charms Bar, left Metro toolbar and ability to drag from top part of the screen to the bottom to close the app with some tools that can be discovered at AskVG. Where-else for tablet users, having the Desktop app is a no-no because it can be tedious for that.

So, what will cause the technical catastrophe for business? Well, for tablet users, remotely accessing the servers may make things kind of worse and especially for the servers running Windows Server 8 and besides, there’s no reason for you to access the servers like that because the intentions are pointless like that. Your best bet will be to get rid of the Start Screen, Charms Bar and even the hot corners for Windows Server 8 no matter which platform you’re going to remotely access. Then once you’ve gotten rid of those, you can use the desktops and laptops to remotely access the servers running Windows Server 8 just like accessing the servers running its predecessors.

Now with the latest Windows Azure technology, Windows Server 8 is able to use the advanced cloud technology as the cloud server OS which manages the apps on the cloud. You can simply proceed to those sites the server is powering and obtain the cloud service from there and that’s about it.

So the mess is still there. Having to do tablet-like interactivity on the server and normal computers is a no-no. It’s kind of pointless for tablet users to remotely access the servers and in fact, you’re forced to put up with such interactivity like that so what’s is left. Well, for installation and uninstallation process of the roles and features, it may seem that the process is not doing anything or perhaps it is corrupted that it is not doing anything and that was the worse problem I got when using the Beta version stored in the virtual machine with its virtual hard disk stored in the USB hard drive the other time. At least for Windows Server essentials series like the Small Business Server Essentials series and Home Server series, you can get interesting add-ons for the server and then using them to have the server do the managing work for you but even then, even Windows Server 8 Essentials will face the same technical catastrophe for your home and the small business companies.

Project Diva F and Playstation Vita Obtained!

Having to buy the console is not easy in terms of pricing as most of the prices range from $200-$700. This one at PlayBoxx at Tampines 1 cost $339 without the memory card and other accessories such as the screen protector. But buying the portable Playstation console without the screen protector can cause damage to the screen which is why it is required when buying the console. The memory card is another compulsory requirement and without it, you’re not able to play games. Total for the console with the accessories is likely to be $380-$390 there with Project Diva F costing like $70+ which totals up to $400+. I guess that I prepared my $340+ just for the console after gathering the pricing information from the PlayBoxx at Tampines that the console there costs $339 but the truth is, the console is having the promo price which is less than the actual price as seen on the internet which is $399.

Like always, buying Japanese stuff from whichever country you’re in is not easy because prices in Japan are damn expensive and that includes the games that are imported in Asia from Japan. If you’ve bought this game from Playstation Network, good for you because you’ve saved $10+ but buying the Playstation Network cards may not be somewhat easy for me.

Well, it’s a race against time because imported Japanese games like this will be sold out pretty soon and it was the same for the previous Project Diva Series in which I did unlock the same speedy achievement when buying Project Diva Extend last year. You may have to realize that the song list in Project Diva F is much shorter than Project Diva Extend but the cool thing about Project Diva F is the improved customization, improved Diva Room, AR Mode and improved graphics but I don’t know if Edit Mode is improved or not. Once again, Edit Mode is mostly for Japanese players as this mode is kind of tough for us without Japanese knowledge unless there is some kind of translation somewhere on the net.

Now that the console is purchased for myself, there will be some warnings for myself on keeping a lookout for because this console is more vulnerable than Project Diva series itself.

  1. As Project Diva F is rated CERO C, I should not let little kids intercept it.
  2. No playing of Project Diva games in public area to avoid cover being blown.
  3. Keep the Playstation Vita from retards no matter how good the games are.

Meanwhile in September 2nd in the arcades, there was one Project Diva Arcade machine whose touchscreen and headphone jack didn’t work that I had to switch to another machine. Unfortunately, I wasted like $1 on choosing 1 Song Mode which was a mistake. Out of $4, I completed three of the songs recently released in Project Diva Arcade this year.

So, what I do care is that we enjoyed the great day of M***’s 5th anniversary and that you enjoyed sharing your social networking post saying that you obtained the same game like I did but most importantly on the days until August 31st, wish her the happy birthday, not someone else the happy birthday or the people under some occupation the happy celebrative school holiday like the one in September 1st. At least I didn’t care about that the September 1st holiday sort of thing so I treated that day as the normal day to be frank.

Project Diva Arcade September Update

Days after the release of Project Diva Arcade Version B, there was one more post from Sega posted in August 31st and that was a real surprise that they were also proud to celebrate the birthday on that day. This update features a few more songs from Project Diva Extend and more modules. What a great announcement from Sega and the game will be updated in September 6th.

You may hope that certain announcements posted on August 31st DID NOT hold it back because it was supposed to be the great day for us and besides that was the day of M***’s 5th anniversary but unfortunately for me, there was one article from Microsoft that held that day back with the announcement of the upcoming Windows 8 Metro games powered by Xbox Live. We’re going to take it that this is the last report of the August 31st articles discovered as the big day had already passed.

First wave of Windows 8 Metro games announced

You know, they should have announced this in September 1st instead of August 31st and here comes some announcement from Major Nelson. The first wave of Windows 8 Metro games powered by Xbox Live will be released in October 26th and what surprised me was that, I stumbled upon the upcoming Metro edition of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. HOW THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO PLAY THAT PORT IF IT DOESN’T SUPPORT KEYBOARD CONTROLS? You expect to hook up the USB controller for that? WHAT IF THAT PORT IS FOR TABLETS ONLY?

You know, there was ALREADY a PC version released two years ago and that wasn’t enough to Microsoft like that? It turns out that Steam is somewhat better in services and functionality than Games for Windows Live. I tried out Games for Windows Live like one to three years ago or something and the login process could go and troll on my ass that I gave up using on that service in favor of Steam, where I can look for more indie games to try there.

In addition to that existing fighting game, there are also casual games as we know of that will be released for Windows 8 devices. OK, it sure seems that the controls will be easily compatible that way with mouse and touch and of course, you’re going to play them once the operating system is out but WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER GAME GENRES?

And that’s what has been happening to Microsoft without like enough motivation and fun activities to deal with. Where in the hell is the multi-national music artist appreciation like Google Japan did in showcasing the commercials featuring like three different young music artists?

But wait up, there’s a good news for you. There will be the upcoming sequel to Blazblue: Continuum Shift and one of the characters is somewhat comparable to Iku Nagae from Touhou series. Holy cow, that character is kind of badass but it turns out that it is the male character. That sequel will be released in Japan in Winter this year with the Playstation 3 release hitting sometime next year.

Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu and Espgaluda II on Google Play

While we were excited and prepared for the release of Project Diva F on Playstation Vita as well as M***’s August 31st birthday which already marked her fifth anniversary, there was some announcement from Cave.

Two days ago, Dodonpachi Resurrection and Espgaluda II were finally on Google Play globally for Android so there’s not much to say in this article.

September starts now!

It was a great birthday for Miku yesterday and it was her fifth anniversary but two days ago, there was some contribution from me for her birthday and that was, I went to some site related to Mitchie’s Birthday Song for Miku and wrote down the birthday message there. Unfortunately, I don’t even use the phones for contacting people so I use the email addresses for doing these contacts and in fact, having to view the interactive video requires three steps. First, the first one will detect your living location. Second is the Twitter integration which is another easy one but third requires that you have your Iphone 4 and above or the Android phone. Other than those devices, other IOS devices don’t happen to be allowed or something and no wonder the last feature didn’t work for me like things went blank while trying to receive some flowers from the site. I connected my Ipod Touch to my computer, thinking that it is an IOS device that should be able to contribute to that site but the site went blank and my Ipod Touch wasn’t doing anything in receiving the flowers after some attempts. But if you succeed all three technical factors, you’re able to view the video as already watched on YouTube but with birthday messages being displayed as well as displaying the global map on where the respective Vocaloid fans live. There was another contribution at another site where you have to post photos and messages but then, those illustrations are not done by us so what’s the point. It’s like talking people’s artworks for presentations, school projects or whatever without references and credits. But take note that that contribution at that site as part of some online event is a competitive one and winners will receive some prizes. There’s another part of the event which involves playing some Bingo but I should forget about it as I have the principle against anything that is against studying.

Also, Project Diva F was released for Playstation Vita two days ago and there are more crossover modules which are the references of other Sega games. It’s the same for the previous Project Diva games. Even Sega and the respective Vocaloid producers were proud to celebrate the birthday as well and that was a big day for us.

Lastly, yesterday was also the day of Malaysia’s Independence Day so bravos to Malaysian Vocaloid fans for celebrating two birthdays at the same time. Mix that day with Vocaloid music if you wish but be careful not to test some kind of limits like that.
