Meta's Horizon Worlds metaverse is so disastrous that they force employees to love and use it

Man, is this a vicious plan disguised as a discipline they've come up with for employees because the employees kept avoiding the app? The employees developing this metaverse app were already feeling disgruntled by that plan after people knew how disastrous the app is. As a tech demo, the showcase was said to be interesting but it turned out the app was poorly executed from the start. The avatars were missing the bottom half like legs for instance and the graphical potential was unspeakably low. Were those avatars intended to be simple or full-fledged to begin with? Even the Playstation Home has superior graphics to Horizon Worlds metaverse, ranging from good looking avatars to scenery having sufficient potential with proper textures, proper water effects and superior shadow effects. Hell, the Playstation Home had some mini games to play through at the time that it gave players the reason to explore various virtual places and interact with other players.

The bigger concerns included the highly expensive Meta Quest Pro VR headset which cost $1000+, privacy concerns surrounding Facebook and Horizon Worlds, and the inferior quality of the metaverse app that the consumers are already better off with other VR apps like VRChat. It's no wonder lesser and lesser amount of people is using Horizon Worlds metaverse. It's like those at Meta came up with Horizon Worlds with business in mind and they expected the employees to use it for the sake of meetings and stuff. Why do you want to buy that super-expensive VR headset as an add-on for video conferencing when you can simply use Zoom or Microsoft Teams, instead?

Upon seeing that video title of this gaming news from Yongyea's YouTube channel, I was already concerned on what other greedy game companies would do after that news broke out. What would Ubisoft do to the game developers who were against NFTs? What would Intellivision do to anyone's who has been criticizing the Amico? Plus, is there such a thing as alternative game engine for Intellivision Amico game development ever since the recent Unity controversy caused by Unity Technologies CEO? If Unity is the only game engine for that platform and Intellivision found out that some game developers were using some other game engine like Godot, what would Intellivision do to them?

Indeed, there may be weird and fishy obstacles to whatever criticism we have but it's ridiculous for the employees at Meta to be forced to use and love the disaster that is Horizon Worlds metaverse. It's greedy and vicious that forcing people to use and love something they hate is making them hate it even more. One other thing I learnt is that criticism of a product can happen anytime from pre-release to post-release but I should be careful to find the right time to criticize the product. If there's a backlash surrounding whatever gaming product, it opens doors to rants and criticisms from content creators for instance.

Whatapp's New Controversial Privacy Policy Change (Part Two)

Many users had migrated to Telegram or Signal although those alternatives are likely to be different story when it comes to essential communication like you'll be told to use Whatsapp instead of the alternative text messaging tools as the other users don't know what they are or maybe one alternative tool isn't widely used in general. The same may go with Zoom video conferencing tool for both business and school and to use the alternative instead of Zoom for more secure video conferencing depends on whichever company you work at. If the company chooses other video conferencing tool instead of Zoom, that's the good thing. But what about personal communication through text messaging? Will you stick back to Whatsapp or use the alternative for that?

There were additional news like Telegram having a migration feature that allows you to import your Whatsapp chats to it. Even various organizations and groups have their Telegram channel you can join although some Telegram group channels may seem questionable to me. Also, the new Privacy Policy change is set to take effect in May after the backlash although it will affect businesses, not end users and even then, many users had already migrated to Telegram or Signal.

Misunderstanding or not, it will not be easy to get yourself convinced and believe that it's a misunderstanding when a controversy like this already occurred. Other controversies I had discovered with the word, misunderstanding, involved included the one regarding obscene Netflix movie, Cu***s, and the one regarding the Playstation 5 scalpers playing victim. How are THOSE controversies considered the misunderstandings when they are fishy stuffs? And there are still IDIOTS falling into the on-going shadiness by mis-believing that it's a misunderstanding! I'm not going to fall for that trick whether it's this controversy or the other.

Lastly, it's not the first time Facebook had caused a controversy like this. There were previous controversies when it comes to privacy violation by a tech company and especially that users were forced to make use of Facebook account for Oculus VR headsets. The worse thing is that Facebook had the recent audacity to lash out on the new privacy controls Apple implemented on IOS 14 as well as to announce the upcoming smartwatch that will come out next year to compete with Apple Watch. To Facebook, it's more about profit than privacy respect when it comes to IOS 14 with its new privacy controls.

Whatsapp's new controversial Privacy Policy change

Like how in the world were millions of users supposed to be truly convinced when Whatsapp tells us that the new change to the Privacy Policy affects business users only when it comes to data collection by Facebook? Business users only or not, the upcoming change had caused millions of users to migrate to the rival messaging apps like Telegram and Signal. One thing to keep in mind is that the privacy in Telegram isn't accurate as if the messages are not encrypted on the non-server-side but at least, it requires lesser permissions than what Whatsapp currently has.

Plus, I have no complete idea if even others related to me have made a switch to a secure alternative or not but I guess that according to the president of the tech company, Acronis, it is less likely for many locals to switch software. Perhaps, it's something to do with common popularity when it comes to the world of tech. Majority of the users are probably using Windows or Mac although there may be rare times you can see someone using some other OS like Linux for instance. From my experience in switching to Signal, it basically imports the contacts and messages from Truecaller app which is the one I made the default messaging app prior to installing Signal on my Android devices but I don't seem to have any way to import the group chats from Whatsapp.

Facebook app uploads system data from users' devices to servers without permission

According to the app researcher from Hong Kong, only the Android version seems to be doing the data collection of system libraries from users' devices to the servers without their consent. From the app, it has the component known as Global Library Collector and there doesn't seem to be a way to opt-out. The guilty pleasure may be the same as the Chromium Embedded Framework that powered various services like Steam and Epic Games Store which have some components that collected users' data although the company that manages Facebook was in hot water before over privacy violation and yet, the app on Android itself does the data collection even deeper.
Obviously, closing the Facebook account over privacy violation is bound to tear things apart. You still have current friends to keep track of as well as the Groups you're in and the Pages you've liked. There are even those who manage their Pages as well like they're public figures.
Who knows what Facebook will do to the data they've collected through the Android app? Plus, the lawsuits were already thrown to tech companies like Apple and Microsoft over privacy violation and to Microsoft and Facebook, it may seem that the backlashes and lawsuits have not been enough like the on-going famous privacy breach through Windows 10 as well as the extended privacy violation concerns over other products like the Xbox One Kinect, Cortana, Skype Translator and even Office 365. Microsoft had a reason regarding data collection for AI stuff but I don't know if Facebook has the proper reason for collecting data through their Android app.
It's a later news than the one about Microsoft's recent actions through the Xbox One Kinect, Cortana and Skype Translator and I don't know if Facebook will learn from their mistakes and put a stop to this illegal data collection. Also, the app on Android is a battery drainer through data collection and removing things that collect data may save you the bandwidth, disk space, and even battery life.

I'll like to stress once again that the cyber-spying issue has been going on in social media and video sharing websites where you get tracked by the companies with data being sold to advertisers. However, this is where things got worse. It seemed that Facebook's data collection was involved in the US-election in which the data collected was used for it and people around the globe were pissed because the privacy violation had gone too far. Will there be a court case against Facebook for this? Who knows?
According to Softpedia, removing your Facebook account may take 90 days but I'm mostly active on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and I rarely use other social media websites like Instagram. It may be a good time to hurt the service by removing your Facebook account but that's not enough according to Softpedia. You may need to modify the HOSTS file in Windows OSes to block access to Facebook entirely. While it may be easier on personal PCs this way in modifying HOSTS file, to get Facebook blocked in enterprise, school and public environment is a different story in which OS and network policies are applied without having to go through everything one by one. And in fact, do you really want to apply the enterprise-grade policies against Facebook at home in which the entire family won't be able to access Facebook?
Another news from Softpedia is regarding the Facebook Container for Firefox. I don't know if there's a similar addon like that for Chrome but Facebook Container is an official addon made by Mozilla to make tracking even harder. It's a lesson Mozilla teaches Facebook with since the privacy violation had gone too far and it took some years for someone to report this situation. What this addon does is to isolate Facebook in a new containerized tab. However, there are flaws. Using comments, likes or even Facebook shares doesn't make you secure as information can still be transferred to Facebook service. Not to mention that you still can get tracked by Facebook when doing anything in Facebook.com.
Even the Whatsapp founder has encouraged you to remove your Facebook account but to close your account like this is a last resort and you must have a proper reason.

Facebook halts collection of Whatsapp user data in Europe

Three months ago, Whatsapp updated its group policy to allow data collection to Facebook as its parent company after acquisition. It was a controversial acquisition to be honest as Facebook has been doing illegal data collection of their users for advertisement and the users were not happy with this move.
Such changes, implementations or moves were unacceptable according to our criticism unless you're an idiot who thinks that we were whining over illegal shit like children when we were actually criticizing something over illegal actions. I mean if you come up with something unofficial and people know about it, you should be clever enough to be aware of your actions although finding a source that legalizes unofficial stuffs may not be an easy stuff. We have been willing to ensure proper freedom but it's a shame that evil corporations may take it for something suspicious or illegal.
After the amount of complaints and criticisms thrown to Facebook over such actions, the data collection was halted in Germany as it infringed the data protection law. You may be willing to make a change but such a change like this can make a positive or negative impact depending on how you implement it. What about the criticisms then? Well, it appears that Facebook was aware of them and stopped the data collection entirely within Europe after authorities signed an open letter to Whatsapp CEO demanding to stop data collection.
One past news was that many of the tech companies had opposed some terrible trade agreement that was recently rejected this month in the US although large-scale tech companies like Facebook, Twitter, Apple, Google, etc. are selfish enough over the public as if they care more for business users but not anyone else. If you don't care for your standard consumers besides business consumers and people working in your company, you will be cussed by them through many ways but ignoring their cussing isn't going to make things better either.

Whatsapp-Facebook data sharing - Partial Opt-Out available

People have known and seen the latest news regarding Whatsapp-Facebook data sharing saga and there's already a way to opt-out of that shit by disabling the check box that mentions sharing the account information. However, that opt-out is a partial solution just like Windows 10's partial opt-out solutions. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO USE THE TECHNOLOGY THAT WILL BETRAY YOU ONE DAY?
Whatsapp had indicated recently that your messages will still stay encrypted while your data will be shared with Facebook for advertising. The purpose is that they will use the information collected from you to improve infrastructure and delivery system as well as to fight spam, abuse and infringement.
It may be an extreme shame on Facebook for the fact that they are one of the bigger betrayals into leaving us for the sake of supporting something corrupted. It's like they mention that some corrupted bill they're supporting improves something even more which is completely false when we already know the fact that it will do more damage than before. Even Google is the other one of the betrayals as well as if people think and know that Google is doing the same data collection bullshit through various services while keeping later Android devices optionally encrypted. It's an UNACCEPTABLE change and the investigation by the UK's Information Commissioner will take place to ensure that the change doesn't violate the UK's Data Protection Act. If Information Commissioner or ICO finds out that the unacceptable change violates the Data Protection Act, the only consequence for Facebook is that Facebook will face a hefty fine for privacy violation.
You need to know what's an acceptable change and what's an unacceptable change in which we follow the positive and acceptable one unless you're trying to be stupid enough into forcing me to follow unacceptable changes besides following the acceptable change. It's like someone's trying to take my concerns for whines that he/she applies enough STUPID FORCE on me to ensure that I FOLLOW EVERYTHING REGARDLESS ON POSITIVENESS AND NEGATIVENESS! I can keep on using old stuffs despite the fact that things inside them may be obsolete as a way to open doors and opportunities of getting people inspired by Lazy Game Reviews. It's a kind of change that tech giants may have concerns about due to the fact that the security-level for old technology may be too old but an isolation between old and new eras should be a thing. Well, what else I can say other than the fact that the encryption is being implemented and will take effect this summer for Facebook Messenger? It probably protects users from having their privacy compromised BUT it can open doors to bad guys using this service undetected which poses difficulty for law enforcement agencies. Like where's the equality in the world of cyber-security?
The difference is that Secret Conversations will work on one device the user can choose from and rich contents will remain un-encrypted. I guess it's to bring some kind of fairness but that's not enough. If only there's a option to turn off the encryption feature for proper fairness to both sides.

Facebook's Free Basics banned in India over Net Neutrality

*Sigh* Why, advocates? Did Facebook have insufficient brains in trying to start their own internet  connection service with the fiber optic cable or something for example like Google did? How could they come up with the stupid wannabe level plan such as the Free Basics program like that that would allow people in India to browse the net for free? What do you mean that it's free? Electrical and network bandwidth usage is obviously not free and who's going to pay for all the bandwidth used by the people who use the Free Basics program?
The problem is that it is extremely limited in everything, mainly the bandwidth speed, the amount of websites you can browse through, and the amount of damage the program can have to the open internet if allowed to continue on. And what is the point of having Free Basics program when you can subscribe to one of the ISPs if you're living in a highly populated environment?
You know what is the major mistake? A difference in price that is now allowed under the Net Neutrality principles in India and even no reasonless over-charging should be allowed as well. There had been news about Net Neutrality in the US and Europe but this is more or less a recent news for India.

Whatsapp to begin sharing user info with Facebook

The title of the blog post or perhaps the news as seen on some other site is something you shouldn't fear and according to the beta testers of the new version of Whatsapp, there's an option to disable the user info sharing if you probably want privacy. And speaking of security focus, the end-to-end chats and calls are encrypted.
Unfortunately, it might seem that Whatsapp had picked the wrong security technology that originated from Telegram to secure its service as Telegram was recently notorious for weak security, false advertising and being used by te****ists. Why would any normal person use Telegram when they could use Whatsapp like what many people use? That is not security improvement at all like we expect better alternate security for the service we already know of.

Facebook alerts users of state-sponsored attack

Illegal state-sponsored attacks may come from companies or perhaps some government agencies that tech giants and their consumers are really concerned. If a company does that on their own accord with their product or service, the reputation is obviously super worse that it makes government agencies more respectful when it comes to the on-going situation on the outside. Such illegal actions can be exposed and found out by the privacy advocates. The on-going cyber-surveillance may be a good time to detect the place for further illegal activities taking place but what makes it really illegal in itself is the privacy violation of the civilians' as if such ideas are not always perfect.
Google might have planned this notification system for the users years ago before Facebook comes up with one but having to make things over-protective can open doors to undetected illegal activities and especially for those controversial bills that extend the illegal cyber-surveillance are always coming back that we have to fight them. What about those illegal activities done by the baddies then? Who's going to tackle those illegal activities for us?
The notification works like this. Basically, the victim is notified of the cyber-attack conducted by some attacker working on behalf of nation-state. In addition, the victim is also warned of the suspected unidentified malware as part of the attack that will likely infect his/her system. Turning on Login Approvals will keep this kind of cyber-attack from coming in.

Adobe Flash security controversy

The criticism has been pushing Adobe away in a serious chain of sadness and disgrace like they're lazy enough to solve all of that security criticism in their products. So, to me, it may look like Adobe is seriously idiotic when it comes to cyber-security importance. Of course, they can't be as stupid as some US ISPs out there for purposing invading their customers' privacy on their accord like it's a sign of betrayal for those who are seeking proper privacy.
The recent reason on why Adobe Flash would be blocked in all versions of Firefox including Facebook and YouTube was obviously involving the security exploit implemented by The Hacking Team. Maybe, there should be a serious investigation on The Hacking Team after their illegal stuffs were completely compromised like it already opened doors to more illegal spying bullshit and more cyber-criminals who want to get their hands on those leaked tools for whatever purposes they want without caring for anything else.
However, the blockage of Adobe Flash may involve another controversy like many people need to watch videos or play social games on Facebook. It may be a problem there but for videos, Facebook can straight away use the HTML 5 technology like what YouTube already uses. Hell, even Twitter needs to switch to HTML 5 for videos as well.
So, do you put the blame on Adobe, The Hacking Team or perhaps both for how extremely weak the Adobe Flash security is? It is likely that you may put the blame on Adobe for that serious weakness. So what, is our computer completely infected because of that?

Facebook's response to illegal tracking update

The illegal tracking is still on-going with Facebook as if the ranting is going to continue from us and in this update, they may have recently responded that this is probably a bug in the social media plugin that the fix is on the way. The right thing they had done previously was that the users are able to opt-out of the app usage tracking and that may be a good thing but this time, it's probably a bug that Facebook is getting aware of.
What the bug does is that it adds cookies to computers of people who don't have their Facebook account with the use of advertising ID that tracks the actions which is kind of bullshit. Other stuffs about illegal tracking from Facebook might have included the access to Friends list by apps, data sharing among other companies as well as the location data control.
What else was found as the evidence that many people can write an article about? And of course, Microsoft's fight against the illegal data request thing is still on-going that there may be nothing new for me to blog about.
Lastly, the fight for internet freedom is still on-going ever since. Even if the previous crappy bills might have failed, there may be same ones rising from their graves or maybe the new bills that put the previous ones to shame. Of course, in addition to the bad bills, there may be good ones too and even the tech giants may be aware of what's going on in the different way so whining on why is privacy important like a kid is making you look like a knucklehead for sure, not those who are seeking freedom and proper privacy.

Facebook's new privacy policy is postponed?

Whatapps had already enabled encryption for their service that protects users' privacy using the TextSecure technology but it looks like the lessons given to Facebook look like the pieces of lies. The new privacy policy planned by Facebook is about using photos and data of the users for the sake of advertisement or any other technical bullshit motive we can guess of and in return, allowing the companies behind their websites that are linked to Facebook to do the same. You think that Microsoft is going to do this bullshit in their accord next month with this policy? What about the other tech giants that are on Microsoft's side, huh?
The new plan will be effective starting next month but it seems that the same Dutch privacy watchdog, CBP has order Facebook to delay it as part of the investigation of the current one. The investigation can take months but even then, the privacy of the Facebook users is already violated with like what, no stronger encryption protection plans or something. You know what, they've fu**** it up, and it may be why they're told by CBP to delay this new bullshit!

Facebook updates terms of usage and lets users opt-out of app usage tracking

While Apple and Google were recently taking initiatives into having hardware encryption enabled on IOS 8 and Android 5 by default that tells the stupid cyber-spies to technically shut the hell up and stop complaining like whining babies saying like this kind of encryption lets whatever criminals do whatever they want unnoticed, it may seem the Facebook is finally having the opt-out option for app usage tracking for the sake of PRIVACY. Not to mention that even Twitter is planning the same thing which can be opted out as well.
Like Twitter whose tracking features can be opted out by the users, this is the probably the chance for people to opt-out the tracking features for Facebook as well but before this update exists for Facebook, they already had tons of data collected illegally and that they already learnt the lesson the last time on not to collect stuffs like that technically for research, advertisement or any other bullshit purposes of their own. Users might end up bashing on Facebook if they continued that sort of bullshit but thanks to user feedbacks and various actions of freedom taken, it seems that they decided to take this recent initiative to enable the opt-out feature for the app itself in addition to the Privacy Check-Up tool which popped up on you when you visit that website again.

Tor support for Facebook

Great, now the protection of privacy with Tor may turn out to be a lie when it comes to Tor support for Facebook. The first thing is that Tor is no longer secure that various agencies and governments are already doing something to tackle the hell out of this service due to the controversial fact that even the cyber-criminals are using this tool for illegal activities in addition to good people like us using it for privacy purposes. Second thing is that Facebook is planning to have Tor support for it but we don't know if we can trust this kind of announcement as if we can think that this may be a lie. Adding Tor support for Facebook like that is like they're ensuring that cyber-criminals using Tor can be more easily tracked through various Facebook accounts. Not to mention that they may be extending the power of spying and lies with this excuse.
In fact, if you have known the previous news on Neowin in which I have been blogging about based on the discovery, you should have already heeded Microsoft's warning that Tor is no longer safe to use although I don't know if the new version has improved security or not that will make Microsoft approve the true use of it. Better still, use the freaking Aviator as the alternative.

Facebook being sued by Room, Inc. for stealing idea

You know, there have been rip-off products like this being recently released by Facebook and people who know the products that came out first in the past are not happy about that. However, there may be childish faggots that claim that those past products are the ripoffs of the recent ones without any research whatsoever. They may be absolute fools for that that we may have to keep a lookout for them. What we can do is to mark their claims/trolls for spam or something indecent until they have made their behavior and attitude good by researching. They should learn on researching stuffs on their own without any help. It's just easy to do so online to know which one came up with such product first in the past. However, the companies that came up with theirs first may end up coming up with the features that are the rip-offs of the recent products' similar features and that's one downside that ruins the purpose of anything original.
Bear in mind about the rip-offs that contain too much unoriginal contents, this may be the right time to sue the ones behind those like what Facebook is being sued for stealing idea. They surely have screwed up their business up their technical ass! And if you support the Facebook version of this kind of app, that's an absolute shame on you! But the product by Room, Inc isn't the only existence, is it? There are also products similar to these that had existed in the past. The ones made by Microsoft, AOL, CompuServe, etc.
Perhaps, we should try out the original products and their good rip-offs when possible! That should give us, good product usage of them, not this unoriginal shit by Facebook! In fact, we don't know what is Facebook's next motive to us besides this app.

Facebook tightens up guidelines for social experiments

Okay. Sure, there might be the fact that Facebook opposed certain organizations that were against the other parts of the cyber-stability such as the Net Neutrality, of course and recently, it seems that Facebook had learnt their lesson from doing all the experimental bullshit without users' knowledge. It already led the users to bashing on the service for this but this kind of improvement is still far from respecting the users' privacy. Even more bullshit is that, Facebook is already planning to collaborate with another advertising company that is already purchased by Microsoft and collect your health records without getting concerned. We have already known that Apple was already concerned about what they would do about users' health data and especially for the controversial iWatch and similar devices in which they may cause more accidents than ever that they should be banned from being in the vehicle. Rather than a digital or video check on whatever that's inside the vehicle for those devices, there should be a sign pasted in the vehicle saying that those wearable devices are not allowed in the vehicle.
So what, is the lesson a lie or something from Facebook when they're invading other parts of privacy? No, it's the truth that they had learnt the lesson but the other bullshits they have been doing should stop.

Facebook, Google and Twitter to comply with the Russian censorship law

Now, it may appear that Facebook and Google are really ignorant to the recent Russian law when it comes to allowing only local products and services in lest the nation gets spied by the foreign one for no apparent reason other than the bullshit reason we already know of. While we know that Apple is announcing the increased hardware security for their IOS devices that you will be able to buy the new Iphone 6, Iphone 6 Plus or perhaps the recent Ipod Touch and Ipad models with the new hardware security that will make cyber-spying kind of difficult, it may seem that the censorship in Russia is kind of equivalent to the one in China. The US services, products and manufacturers are kind of ditched in Russia and China or something and if the three companies want to continue business, the Russian user data must be stored in Russian data center, not anywhere eles. It may do better that way but that doesn't end the cyber-spying once and for all.
But the thing is, we already know the Russian antivirus brand but not any other local products there at this moment that there will be more work in Russia than in China as China already has its own local services and products and especially for the stuffs made there.
What about the localized computer hardware components such as the China-branded CPU, GPU as well as the motherboard to call the computer a China-branded-made PC for instance? Besides the China OS in which we anticipate, we may also expect some other Asian-branded OSes as well provided that the OS in China is made from scratch with some new OS technology made in China entirely.

New Privacy Checkup by Facebook

Ever since three years ago, it seems that we have been privacy violated by Fatbook/Devilbook or whatever name you may want to come up with against Facebook which is the original name. The new Privacy Checkup doesn't seem to be kind of enough or something against this on-going situation but it solves the fact that people have been sharing the private posts on Facebook into publicizing the hell out of them without any consent. With this new Privacy Checkup feature, it should determine which posts of yours are private or not so that nobody else can see them. Obviously, it has been a problem taking place in Facebook pages you haven't liked or the persons you have been following similar to Twitter like you can end up seeing their posts and then sharing some of the interesting ones without consent.
Speaking of Facebook pages, it seems that only the Administrators are able to post something related to the purposes of the pages but even then, there may be useless and spam comments on each post everywhere that they don't have time to take those comments down.
