Lumines Remastered

There were already Lumines games on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 although I don't know if they are remakes of the PSP games or maybe different ones. Fast forward to the time when Lumines is bound to come out on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Steam and Nintendo Switch. The recent Lumines game was probably on mobile and the cool thing was that there was also the Ultra Japan pack in which Ultra Japan is probably the big DJ festival. Unfortunately, how do you play Lumines with touch screen like it's beyond me. Lumines Electronic Symphony on Playstation Vita has the touch screen controls in addition to the traditional ones but I still preferred the traditional one all along. Maybe there should be a spot you can tap on somewhere else on the screen that does the block rotation while dragging the block horizontally with swiping down being dropping the block.
Things had already changed when it comes to games being transferred to new companies. For X-Nauts, the rights to Psikyo games were already transferred again to say, Zerodiv, in which those classic games were re-released again on modern consoles. For Enhance, it's the same thing although the classic games were remastered for modern consoles with additional stuffs like Rez Infinite which contained VR support and additional area using a different engine. When will there be a new Rez or other Q-Entertainment game or something, who knows? There was already a recent Lumines game on mobile released a few years ago as if the Lumines series is one of the main IPs owned by the main man behind it.
About X-Nauts, there might be additional new games that were part of the Psikyo classics but the sequel to Sengoku Blade Episode 2 which is on PSP is kind of half-assed. The graphics and stages are sort of bland and so are the gameplay concept and the way the game is programmed. There was also a Psikyo crossover spinoff on mobile which consists of Strikers 1945, Gunbird and Sengoku Blade series but what it does is to recycle things from the mobile ports and make itself an endless level-progression type. I don't have time for that bullshit to be frank and it's not that fun progressing that far!
Lastly, for the upcoming remastered version of Lumines, I don't know if there will be contents exclusive to it or not. I have feeling that the assets will be redone for 1080p screen resolution and the bigger challenge ever since the release of the Lumines mobile game will be the license for using licensed music since Enhance is the one-man-studio or some kind. It's a bigger challenge than say, the Lumines mobile game or Rez Infinite since Lumines Remastered will be released on 4 platforms.

eXtern OS Beta 1 Update

You've got to be DAMN THANKFUL that the sole developer has the PRINCIPLE AGAINST privacy violation and that principle will be effective in later beta stages for eXtern OS which is based on Ubuntu 16.04.2. We might have bashed on Windows 10 because certain data-collecting things for the sake of privacy cannot be turned off even in Enterprise edition but there's a full way to turn off all the bullshit in eXtern OS in the same way as putting Ubuntu back to where it was before they implemented that controversial bullshit on it.
The new interface is incomplete and it looks like there's no way to turn off all the data-collecting bullshit but there's a hope. Go to the search box and type in gnome_terminal_exec and press Enter to open the Gnome Terminal. From there, you can do whatever the hell you want like installing alternate desktop environment, having it set as the default environment and session, etc. For Gnome desktop environment, it uses GDM by default like in the previous versions of Ubuntu and GDM comes with its own greeter or some kind.
Experiences so far:
  1. When adding/removing packages, certain things cannot be set to default locale but I guess that setting it to en_US fixes this problem.
  2. There doesn't seem to be a way to add additional users and despite having installed the OS to HDD, you're still logging in as the default LiveCD user.
  3. Unlike other Ubuntu distributions whose LiveCD user doesn't have a password, this one has.
  4. Despite having installed Guest Additions/VMWare Tools, there doesn't seem to be a way to change resolution in Compiz Desktop mode. It uses Compiz but the OS uses the unidentified shell that puts the desktop on top of the previous one.
  5. If you're using other desktop environment, the unidentified shell eXtern OS uses by default covers that environment's desktop so you cannot see the desktop icons whatsoever and the wallpaper is likely to be different. Thankfully, the panels are on top.
  6. When clicking on Release Notes from Ubiquity, this brings you to eXtern OS official website.
  7. Ubiquity or similar may need to be installed if you want to install eXtern OS to the HDD/SSD.
What I did so far correctly:
  1. Install Ubiquity in LiveCD and then use it to install eXtern OS - One theory is that if you're using Ubuntu on Live USB and then install it from the USB flash drive, what the installer does is to make use of those files from the main directories of the drive, not the ones inside the casper-rw file.
  2. Use Tasksel to install Gnome desktop environment - By doing that, I was cross-grading eXtern OS to Ubuntu Gnome like I already did to Ubuntu with Unity by installing Gnome desktop environment. I think I did that in the past with Synaptic Package Manager or something in which the Gnome desktop environment was installed alongside the Unity one and it was why the OS still makes use of the default greeter and display manager.
  3. The folder containing the Node.js related data that represents the eXtern OS apps is removable and not part of any package whatsoever.
  4. Use Synaptic to remove any exclusive bullshit eXtern OS has - I might have turned eXtern OS into a standard Ubuntu OS by having finished off the remaining data-collecting garbage as if there are rarely traces of eXtern OS stuff left. I don't know the The Social Revolution show at all like I've never seen it before but there surely is a video of the show that comes with the OS. I can't tell if this is illegal bundling or not but I'm sure that Microsoft had licenses to bundle sample music as part of cilent Windows OSes. You may have known songs that came with Windows 3.1/95/98/ME as well as the ones that came with Windows XP. I'm not sure if the later Windows OSes have similar bundle of music files or not.
As this Linux OS violates the privacy in the same way Windows 10 does, the best place to beta-test it will be your home. I'm sure that nobody uses this OS at work, school or any other public facility even if it hits the final stage one day as this is more or less a hobby-made OS by the sole developer, not the professional-level OSes like those made by the companies.

Windows 10 Spring Creators Update

I admit that I have been recently purifying the shit out of eXtern OS Beta 1 as the data collection bullshit is equal to or worse than the one in Windows 10 but hope is not lost if you want privacy back. There are already ways to remove that bullshit while retaining the good parts. For the upcoming Spring Creators Update of Windows 10, you get more options than before in the Privacy section of Settings app as well as the updated Privacy Dashboard for your Microsoft account. Also, you're able to remove the data collected by Microsoft which is a good obedience.
The Spring Creators Update should include security fixes to the vulnerabilities the tech news already talked about tons of times ever since the Fall Creators Update which disabled the SMB1 component by default. It was a serious case of cyber-security breach that took place last year and we should remain vigilant on future cyber-security threats.

#DeleteFacebook Saga & Facebook Container for Firefox

I'll like to stress once again that the cyber-spying issue has been going on in social media and video sharing websites where you get tracked by the companies with data being sold to advertisers. However, this is where things got worse. It seemed that Facebook's data collection was involved in the US-election in which the data collected was used for it and people around the globe were pissed because the privacy violation had gone too far. Will there be a court case against Facebook for this? Who knows?
According to Softpedia, removing your Facebook account may take 90 days but I'm mostly active on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and I rarely use other social media websites like Instagram. It may be a good time to hurt the service by removing your Facebook account but that's not enough according to Softpedia. You may need to modify the HOSTS file in Windows OSes to block access to Facebook entirely. While it may be easier on personal PCs this way in modifying HOSTS file, to get Facebook blocked in enterprise, school and public environment is a different story in which OS and network policies are applied without having to go through everything one by one. And in fact, do you really want to apply the enterprise-grade policies against Facebook at home in which the entire family won't be able to access Facebook?
Another news from Softpedia is regarding the Facebook Container for Firefox. I don't know if there's a similar addon like that for Chrome but Facebook Container is an official addon made by Mozilla to make tracking even harder. It's a lesson Mozilla teaches Facebook with since the privacy violation had gone too far and it took some years for someone to report this situation. What this addon does is to isolate Facebook in a new containerized tab. However, there are flaws. Using comments, likes or even Facebook shares doesn't make you secure as information can still be transferred to Facebook service. Not to mention that you still can get tracked by Facebook when doing anything in Facebook.com.
Even the Whatsapp founder has encouraged you to remove your Facebook account but to close your account like this is a last resort and you must have a proper reason.

Dance Rush Stardom (Updated)

Another spinoff of DDR which makes use of your legs like the DDR franchise as if the improvement is quite little when compared to realistic dance games. However, this is another fun game and a great new step to know a new type of dance which is shuffle dance. During the location test phase, the dance platform isn't that wide and those who played the game knew what the gameplay was like. It's like a DDR version of TapSonic in terms of gameplay visually except that the game is centered around on shuffle dance which is one dance to mix with EDM music. That surely makes things energetic although there are already other types of dances that have yet to be implemented in dance games.
This is one positive spinoff when compared to other spinoffs that shoehorned the classic franchises in a disturbing way. Dance Evolution is another positive spinoff of DDR which makes use of Kinect for realistic dancing but that's not the only Kinect dance game out there when it first came out on Xbox 360.
Furthermore, like Maimai series, the machine also supports video filming of the players playing the game.

Airtone VR

Perhaps, it's eastern rhythm games in a nutshell where notes are coming in on different lane and you'll have to tap the respective buttons/keys to the beat and this one goes next-gen with VR gaming. Is this the kind of VR rhythm game I want to see in the first place? Sure, the concert-simulation VR games where you have to do all the filthy call & response garbage are not that great as the concept is completely unacceptable with the games having insufficient songs to choose from as well as the fact that there are other bullshit features like private encore stuff which I find disturbing to be frank. For job-simulation VR games, I have positive opinions about them and as the genre suggests, it's about what it's like to work in the office, store/shop counter as a shopkeeper/cashier or whatnot or even in the kitchen as a professional chef, etc. What about VR dance games where you dance on stage in front of the audience? That is the kind I want to see but...
Anyway, for Airtone, the gameplay takes place in the 3D field made out of 5 lines where the notes are coming at you or something. It has the Smash notes, Trigger notes, Hold notes as well as Tunnel notes. The Tunnel Notes are one impressive parts of my imagination where all the lines merge to form one to two lines and you have to follow along or something while holding the trigger button until you reach 100 notes. The gameplay as well as the amount of songs give you the arcade-experience.
Unfortunately, if you expect a proper VR dance game, well, it's no easy feat as the VR controllers are somewhat different than using the Kinect itself but I guess that this is how the next-gen rhythm game goes on VR. The game may have superseded the previous sensor-detection rhythm games like Samba De Amigo, Para-Para Paradise but to make the gameplay involve 360-degree fields where the notes are coming at you in all directions may make this kind of VR rhythm game too complicated. It's basically like Samba De Amigo where everything is sensor-detectable in 360 degrees. I don't mean X-axis 360-degrees which require that you turn your body around to focus on the other groups of incoming notes. I mean the Y-axis one. During the song, the lines may at times change angles and especially for the Tunnel Notes which change angles as well. Again, like those sensor-detection rhythm games of the past in the arcades, this kind of VR rhythm game seems to be using your arms or something rather than the entire body like what DDR does in making use of your legs.
The navigator is named Neon and the way she guides you is like the adviser of Sim Theme Park or similar where the adviser comes on screen and tells you something. This may become repetitive after a while and she should do the teleportation method for the results screen rather than come flying to you or something.
Lastly, the English voice acting doesn't fit the character but who cares when a character like Neon is more or less the game navigator?
This is one interesting discovery and if you're into rhythm game genre, you may probably want to buy it although you'll need a more powerful computer along with VR accessories needed for games like this. There's also the Playstation 4 version on the way and needless to say, Playstation Move controllers are needed in addition to the PSVR accessory.

Persona 3 & 5 Dancing spinoffs

Unlike Persona 4 Dancing All Night, Persona 3 and 5 spinoff dance games have a non-canon story mode and the interactions between characters take place in the Velvet Room which looks like a club, the same setting as in Persona 4 Dancing All Night. The character interaction is different this time as you get to interact with the characters from both games. The settings are taken from the original Persona games rather in a brand new location like in Persona 4 Dancing All Night. The dance moves in Persona 3 Dancing Moon Night will be acrobatic based while the ones in Persona 5 Dancing Star Night will be realistic dance based.
There will also be the Playstation 4 release of Persona 4 Dancing All Night as a digital download and both games will be released in May this year in Japan. For the protagonists of Persona 3 & 5, they have an actual name this time with the protagonist of Persona 3 having the same name as the one in Persona 3 animated movie.

Blazblue Cross Tag Battle

A spinoff crossover game with other 3 franchises being part of it. This consists of Blazblue, Under Night In-Birth, Persona 4 Arena and RWBY. One of them isn't a fighting game franchise but rather, it starts off as a western 3D web animation by Rooster Teeth. It's trying to pose as some animated show made in Japan but this looks more like some cartoonish game with 3D cell-shaded graphics made in Japan instead of the traditional 2D animated cartoon shows. The others have done well in mimicking the Japanese-style animation in an usual way when compared to Rooster Teeth which goes on an unusual route. There are some controversies surrounding the RWBY franchise like the main man behind it dropping out of high school just to do a bunch of animated stuff as well as getting hired by professional companies despite having a lack of diploma/degree and of course, some characters forging the educational qualification to enroll in the academy. Bottom line, STUDY GODDAMN WELL AND DON'T END UP LIKE THAT MAN WHO DROPPED OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL FOR THAT STUFF!
For Persona 4 Arena and Arena Ultimax, they are spinoffs of Persona 4 the RPG game but they aren't the only spinoffs so far. As Blazblue Cross Tag Battle is being made by Arc System Works, the assets for both Blazblue and Persona 4 Arena are quite the same. For Under Night In-Birth, the sprites will have to be redone although I don't know if the backgrounds from that game will have to be redone as well.
In comparison to Guilty Gear Xrd and Dragon Ball FighterZ which have brand new graphical styles, this for some reason is like one generation behind as Blazblue series started in the late 2000s so to the new consoles, the graphics are nothing special no matter how detailed they look. Sure, they are awesome as always throughout the Blazblue series although I don't know if the existing backgrounds will have high-res textures or what not.
One major problem, the character roster looks incomplete and upon the game's release, there will be 20 characters with the additional 20 except for 2 of them being paid DLCs. But at least, the game hasn't gone on the worse route. Street Fighter V when it first came out, was unspeakably incomplete in terms of character roster as well as the lack of important main game modes and the way to get additional characters is controversial. You can buy them as paid DLCs or you can grind in a tedious way to use in-game currency to buy them. In fact, I've seen the worst-case scenario regarding the rhythm games on mobile with endless paid DLCs for a complete collection as well as the initial amount of songs you'll get upon download completion. However, it seems that Cytus is going on a different route with free updates giving you additional songs at no charge and it may be the same for the idol-themed rhythm games. I don't know if the other game genres are having this similar bullshit as well.
Lastly, there will be English dubs in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle unlike Central Fiction which doesn't have one but the controversy regarding the lack of English Dub in Central Fiction isn't that large. Also, unlike the main Blazblue series, this will come out first on consoles and Steam.

Multiple controversies

Perhaps, this whole blog post may bring more than the main topic of Metal Gear Survive controversy as it is not the only controversy Konami has caused. Needless to say, things in AAA games are also going on a worse route as well. But here are the following controversies Konami has caused.

Love Plus controversy

The Love Plus franchise is considered a radicalized gaming material to me for being that realistic of a simulation like a lifeless loser nerd in Japan had the guts to get himself married with one of the characters from the game. I should hope that that marriage is more or less illegal in the first place as it raised people concerns and questions like the DS running out of battery, things not working well because the DS is too old or something or perhaps, his DS is taken away, thrown away or smashed to shreds for illegal marriage. Even worse is that the fictional characters are not programmed to grow old, choose whatever career/job they probably want including the new home of course and even give birth to children. Like Tokimeki Memorial franchise, I'm sure the entire in-game period takes place in high school days but not beyond. You can graduate and move on from school but the game doesn't care for your perspective.

Pachinko/Slot machines

Some of the franchises were ruined as a result and especially for Metal Gear franchise although some of them still continued on traditionally like nobody cares for those Pachinko/Slot spinoffs. Even I have a STRICT principle against this kind of bullshit.

Controversial spinoffs

When Metal Gear Survive was released, people were not pleased with the features and concept. The zombie shooting concept is repeated countless times like there have been tons of zombie shooting games with different game genres, the locked features are taken from mobile games or some kind where you have to pay additional in-game currency to unlock them, the gameplay experience is found to be boring or something and one of the gameplay features has you build up fences against zombies which is kind of political and I don't like it from what I saw from Angry Joe's review of the game. Last but not least is the inclusion of microtransactions and other bullshit. So as a spinoff, Metal Gear Survive sort of stinks and so is its sales. People have hated it as a result of the controversy Konami has caused.
For Tokimeki Idol, it's the same example as Metal Gear Survive in terms of repeated concept as if this whole thing is like an asset template flip. The UI layout is unoriginal, the game concept is unoriginal and quite the same as the other games like a Home Screen showing a character whom you choose as a partner, Main and Side Stories, Character and Team Management, Live Show for gameplay, Card Drawing and the list goes on. It's rare to see a difference in the UI layout, the game concept as well as the gameplay. It's as fine as the arcade games of the past but what makes this sub-genre of the rhythm game genre extremely controversial is the microtransaction and loot boxes. People tend to spend too much real money for the premium in-game currency just to get a specific but extremely rare item and that can be extremely damaging to their gaming lives just because of whichever mobile game they play so the idol-themed rhythm game is not the only kind of mobile game that has the microtransaction and loot box features. In fact, why would Konami go on a more dangerous route like this? Can you imagine how much overall real money will be spent just for that excuse on more than one mobile game like that? It's as dangerous as gambling practically and if there's anyone out there who tells you to do that dangerous practice in mobile games, don't heed that fraudulent advice.
Next is Bombergirl, a perverted looking spinoff of Bomberman franchise and it gets worse than Otomedius series. Firstly, it includes the clothing damage bullshit which some other arcade games already have in the 2010s. I AM GODDAMN SERIOUS ABOUT THIS FEATURE IN OTHER ARCADE GAMES IN EXISTENCE! Even various Konami arcade game franchises are having this fanservice bullshit by revealing so much of skins for some of the new or existing characters. The gameplay is sort of like other Bomberman games where you have to make sure that the opponents get blown up and the cabinet has some design elements from other Konami arcade games as well like the transparent panels from Jubeat or something. One good news is that there's a Bomberman medal game which is like a good alternative to Bombergirl just in case you're sick of that fanservice bullshit Bombergirl has. I'm sure there will be people of all ages there are going to play that medal game just because it's Bomberman like it's fun blowing up blocks, enemies and one another.
To support a filthy spinoff like those mentioned above is like supporting the modern-day Konami or some kind but that doesn't seem to be the point.

Work Environment and Relationship

There might be corporate restructuring taking place at Konami more than once and the Kojima Productions was like isolated or something and they had no rights to borrow resources from the other teams or some kind. Even worse is that various famous men who produced the famous franchises had already left and are nowadays producing something similar elsewhere like Naoki Maeda's Cross X Beats which obviously didn't him and his new team so much time compared to other games which would take several years or something to be made while resembling something similar to the classic games they formerly made. Another problem is how harsh the work environment is nowadays as well as the job application censorship which poses a large difficulty for former Konami employees. It will be extremely tough for them to get a future professional job even if they are told to. Will telling their spouse, children, parents and siblings all the truth be able to help? If they probably want to get a new job in the future, it may be best not to put Konami's name on their resume under work experience. This is the last kind of company you may want to work at and you're warned to avoid it like a plague.

Additional charges for features in arcade games

If you notice closely, some of the game modes charge you more than the initial amount of credits to start the game. Normally, it's one-credit-per-run unless you're playing an arcade game that has the Continue feature in which the game doesn't end until you've completed the final stage and the game has tons of stages you must go through but it is not necessary to go through those extra-credit-charging game modes. Another minor controversy is about the feature that charges you additional credit to print something in Sound Voltex IV song result screen. Furthermore, you will be charged additional Paseli for other features you've chosen in various rhythm games. Perhaps, you're already better off using several dollars of money to buy some food or something. The same Paseli charging feature is also in E-Amusement Cloud which is arcade gaming in the cloud.
