Russian government to ban Windows from being used in government computers

Citing security flaws as everyone knows of for Windows 8 and 10 including the previous ones and especially for knowing that Microsoft had complied with US authorities according to Russian government, there was a decision to ban Windows from being used on government computers in favor of using the local operating system based on Linux. It may be an interesting news and especially that even China is planning to make their own local operating system but I do have knowledge that there are other Linux based OSes in China as well.
From the recent interview, the Russian government officials expressed the president's dissatisfaction with foreign tech companies that supposedly never pay taxes to the state unlike the local companies. The motive is that they're planning to ban Windows, increase taxes on foreign tech companies as well as to develop the local operating system to be used on government computers. I may be curious on what those local operating systems are like to be frank and I don't know if those OSes are developed for local users only as if no foreign users are welcome or something. There is a law that makes foreign tech companies pay an 18% value on added taxes on apps and services used online.
Until the day the local operating systems are finalized in China and Russia one day where government computers there will be like more secure or something, the tech companies we know of have been already kept in check to see if those companies still try to do anything bad to foreign customers that may keep foreign leaders concerned like those leaders already were.

Facebook's Free Basics banned in India over Net Neutrality

*Sigh* Why, advocates? Did Facebook have insufficient brains in trying to start their own internet  connection service with the fiber optic cable or something for example like Google did? How could they come up with the stupid wannabe level plan such as the Free Basics program like that that would allow people in India to browse the net for free? What do you mean that it's free? Electrical and network bandwidth usage is obviously not free and who's going to pay for all the bandwidth used by the people who use the Free Basics program?
The problem is that it is extremely limited in everything, mainly the bandwidth speed, the amount of websites you can browse through, and the amount of damage the program can have to the open internet if allowed to continue on. And what is the point of having Free Basics program when you can subscribe to one of the ISPs if you're living in a highly populated environment?
You know what is the major mistake? A difference in price that is now allowed under the Net Neutrality principles in India and even no reasonless over-charging should be allowed as well. There had been news about Net Neutrality in the US and Europe but this is more or less a recent news for India.

Gameplay report at Virtualand at Bugis - February 5th

I'm well aware of the updates that took place at Virtualand arcades at Bugis such as the headphone jack for Beatmania IIDX machines, the Sound Voltex Generator as well as the controversial Museca. And of course, the games are still running smoothly even though Windows XP Embedded had gone out of support last month that many arcade systems running that OS are considered old and yet, some of the services like Nesica X Live and E-Amusement are still powering the old Windows XP Embedded based arcade machines and especially that current games are being updated at this time on those machines. Sega and Namco are already using the recent technologies and especially for Taito for Groove Coaster series which is obviously active and current. I don't know what Windows OS the arcade machine running Museca is to be frank but sooner or later, there should be a boot-up video like that. Like EZ2DJ series, some Bemani series are still running on old Windows technologies that there's no need to worry about and especially that the 5th KAC already went on recently.
The confusing thing was that there are no paper labels or whatever for the custom headphone jacks on the arcade machines and not all Jubeat machines have those jacks ready for unknown reasons. Not to mention that the devices supporting custom headphone jacks should be fixed or something as when I played Beatmania IIDX on one of the machines, only the left side was outputted. Other updates for Beatmania IIDX as I knew of included the Expert Mode in February 3rd and the interface for that seems to be based on the one from Beatmania IIDX Pendual. Normally, the songs/courses are in black boxes or something with the folders having white boxes but for Expert Mode interface, I still have yet to get used to it.
Unfortunately, even with the earpiece on and hooked up to the headphone jack, I still failed the Class Level 4 in Beatmania IIDX like I was having issues with certain patterns from some songs. R5 was already painful enough with repeat notes on the same lane plus other patterns.

Chromodo web browser under fire for leaving users in danger

According to the research results from some security researcher from Google, some of the policies in Chromodo web browser are disabled while Chrome has the same policies enabled by default. This leaves some users in danger as baddies can gain access to the private data. With the safeguard, scripts can access data in another script if they both originate from the same source. It's a warning originating from the Google researcher and there is a fix he has made to fix the issue.
Even worse is that the Comodo Internet Security tempers with the DNS settings according to the researcher in addition to importing everything from Google Chrome and making itself the default browser and nobody knows the motive of this. And of course, is there a reason on why Comodo doesn't have the official solution to this fix.
It's another security weakness that can leave you vulnerable to attacks by cyber-criminals, not some kind of a measure/practice that lowers down the security level through illegal cyber-monitoring for detection of baddies. No, like I've said, it's just another security weakness or bug that the ones behind the web browser or the app should come up with a patch or something to fix it. There's already no clue this time on why Comodo isn't aware of this. You could have used the other antivirus/internet security brands instead of this unusual-ness.

Whatsapp to begin sharing user info with Facebook

The title of the blog post or perhaps the news as seen on some other site is something you shouldn't fear and according to the beta testers of the new version of Whatsapp, there's an option to disable the user info sharing if you probably want privacy. And speaking of security focus, the end-to-end chats and calls are encrypted.
Unfortunately, it might seem that Whatsapp had picked the wrong security technology that originated from Telegram to secure its service as Telegram was recently notorious for weak security, false advertising and being used by te****ists. Why would any normal person use Telegram when they could use Whatsapp like what many people use? That is not security improvement at all like we expect better alternate security for the service we already know of.

InPrivate mode for Microsoft Edge wasn't secure due to a bug

Microsoft Edge as part of Windows 10 is a lucky and spared web browser but due to the lack of other common features like other web browsers have, it has the lower user-base than even Internet Explorer. A past news from Neowin was regarding the bug in Microsoft Edge that didn't make it secure in InPrivate Mode like it made the browser misleading about that mode. It's a bug that you should get over it and Microsoft was already aware into resolving the problem the researcher had discovered.
The InPrivate Mode somewhat behaved like the normal mode when browsing with Microsoft Edge and your browsing history could be vulnerable to cyber-attacks. A trained cyber-security professional should be able to know more about security flaws in details and I'm no professional in cyber-security but I do have enough knowledge in the IT parts including the enterprise related IT tools that I had used before. Speaking of those tools, the amount of my knowledge wasn't quite enough for my IT Professional career.
