Trip to TKA Virtualand Arcade at Bugis Junction (March 28)

Okay, the promise was fulfilled again with another trip to TKA Virtualand arcade at Bugis Junction yesterday with another gameplay of Beatmania IIDX and Sound Voltex again. There were some local events that took place last week but I found other events to be much more appreciated than those like the in-game events for Beatmania IIDX, Groove Coaster and of course, LLSIF. Yesterday, the Score Match for LLSIF pretty much ended with the maintenance taking place while I was already out there at the arcades.
Unfortunately, the controversies of this month I mentioned were delayed or something as the Nesica service was offline at the TKA Virtualand arcade at Bugis Junction, leaving the Groove Coaster machines offline. Obviously, if the game is offline, a different screen will be displayed before the title screen. In fact, lesser things will be mentioned by the navigator when the game's offline in general. I guess that it ruined my mood a little bit because of the trips I went to at Century Square.
Another major mistake was that I forgot to turn off the Auto-Scratch and switch to Hyper difficulty before going for Rave set in Secret folder in Expert Mode in Beatmania IIDX. That looked like a laughable mistake.
Lastly, do I look like I cared for the local events that took place last week? No, I don't have any interests whatsoever and things are still as normal as ever. There will be online events taking place in March 29 Western Time which is already March 30 Local Time like I'll be attending them whenever possible although that is already beyond the scope of this blog post.

Groove Coaster 3 Link Fever First Play

Before stating all the impressions below, let me warn you that I had the controversial trip in March 18 where I played Sound Voltex before moving on to Groove Coaster 3 for the first time at Century Square arcades. For a true first play of Groove Coaster 3, that will be in the arcades somewhere at Bugis Junction. What was really inexcusable into going to Century Square arcade was the renovation noise thing which is still on-going until the end of this month. It takes place at my neighbor's home where I heard that her toilet rooms would be renewed as part of the renovation.
First impressions were that the voice of Linka the Navigator is in English for Groove Coaster 3 in Asia known as Rhythmvaders 3. Not only the whole game is translated into English, but also, she speaks in English as well. The strange thing is that instead of calling the game, Groove Coaster, she calls it, Rhythmvaders, that is for the English version. In the Japanese version, of course, everything is in Japanese including the voice acting and the actual name, Groove Coaster, is mentioned. I don't know if the prequels have some differences like the announcer would say, Rhythmvaders, for English version when starting the game for example but I guess that the alternate name, Rhythmvaders, wasn't mentioned at all by the announcer. In the Japanese version, the original game name was said out by the announcer when starting the game.
Also, the navigator in Groove Coaster 3 says tons of stuffs in such a cheerful/polite way regardless of whichever version of the game. The English voice seems to be decent like I can imagine that some voice actress from Singapore might have voice acted her or something for the way she says in English. Her saying is everywhere whether it's Attract Mode, Title Screen, Main Menu, Music Select, Difficulty Select, Result and Game Over screen. Her name sounds English to me when seeing it in Hiragana form except that the long dash at the end is not there so to me, calling her Linka in English version may be a strange but nerdy thing as if the name, Linker, is more appropriate for that. Linka as the character name is much finer in Japanese version though. Lastly, I still prefer the original game name, Groove Coaster, as the alternate name, Rhythmvaders, still doesn't have anything to do with Space Invaders whatsoever as we still know that it's a rhythm game by Taito after all.
The song unlock feature at the end of the game is gone and if you want to get some more songs unlocked, you need to have a Nesica account like I recently had and then register your Nesica card the same way you register your E-Amusement Pass.
The first times I stumbled upon Groove Coaster 3 were the fact that it would be coming in March 10 and the song, Freedom, from Darius Burst Chronicle Saviours would be playable initially. Sure, I attempted that song and it was tricky for sure. Some of the songs like Conflict and Halycon including some Touhou arranges are available in Groove Coaster as well but the thing is, Groove Coaster is not the only game to have those I just mentioned. I might have played those Touhou arranges as part of my skill analysis in Sound Voltex if I can recall.
Lastly, the idol group, Denpa Gumi Inc., is bound to turn me off if I have to play their songs in rhythm games again as that kind of music genre is really unusual but still, I played other Dempa songs as long as they are decent enough not to turn me off. The event starring that group is still on-going or something but I think I'm already better off with other music genres as many people are already turned off when it comes to Dempa genre.

Sound Voltex Gameplay Report - March 18 (Controversial Trip) - Blogged in March 19

Those FUCKING IDIOTS AT HOME AGAIN! It had been 9 fucking days since I went to the arcades at Century Square again for the same goddamn thing except that the renovation noise thing was inexcusable yesterday!
Now, what made the renovation noise thing inexcusable yesterday? Well, I actually had a plan on buying the iRig Mobile DJ Mixer like I did today except that I can't could let those idiots know about where I go to at other places like City Hall, Bugis, Raffles Place, etc. I was kind of lucky to have bought it today before the closure of Funan Digitalife Mall sometime in the third quarter of this year. Why did they plan to close it like trying to take time to make it better or even sell it? I surely have no clue what should I do if that happens.
On the gameplay side of Sound Voltex again, the prerequisites of unlocking the 5th KAC boss song were less difficult or something as if I don't have to clear tons of Level 12 songs to get the first prerequisite song unlocked for track input. Unfortunately, there was some freezing issue on the left machine I played on but the freezing wasn't as major as some gameplay video I saw on the net. Of course, who the hell cares about the issue after it has been fixed? Also, by the time we reach April, who cares about the renovation noise thing again?
And last but not least, if those idiots I mentioned above were trying to delay my plans to buy that Mobile DJ Mixer any longer until April by thinking that I would repeat and extend the same controversial trip again like going out, having lunch, going to the arcades at Century Square before return back and then repeat the whole process again, this whole cycle can turn some parts of my biography into LIES because of them and I won't be able to get some opportunity to play Beatmania IIDX again. Speaking of Beatmania IIDX, will I be playing it again this month besides Sound Voltex at the Bugis Virtualand arcade? You should pretty much know that I go to the basement arcade center at Bugis Virtualand as the most preferred game center in my present time although the overall trip can be more costly that way.

Sound Voltex gameplay report - March 9th (Controversial trip)

This one's the same controversial trip as the last time I had gone to but this month, there's a serious situation. The renovation in my neighbor's home will start from the start of this week until the end of this month and things will be unspeakably noisy non-stop from morning to afternoon.
There are workarounds against this on-going noise so far:
  • Go out on a trip to the arcades or maybe some shopping complex
  • View the MVA lessons
Unfortunately, it appeared that workaround number 2 had been chosen even more as there are tons of things I may have to work on. But for workaround number 1, there are already future plans like buying the DJ mixer from Funan Digitalife Mall ASAP that can be compatible with IOS and Android devices if I want to make use of it to make some mixtapes or something.
Progress-wise, there was a medley for KAC 2013 popping up that I tried on that day and songs that were at 200 BPMs and up were much faster that it will take me time to improve my tolerance. However, it might occur that I'm missing out another medley for that same KAC that has For Ultraplayers as the last song in the medley. Funny thing was that, the predictions for those medleys had come true and especially that the KAC finalist for 4th KAC had asked that he wanted to see what KAC 2013 SDVX Medley was like.
Other discoveries included the mini Hori arcade stick for Playstation 4 and the gaming keyboard-like accessory for Playstation 3 and 4 which could make those two consoles on par with computer gaming. However, I had no plans to buy whatever games at this time.

Echo Dot and Amazon Tap

Perhaps there should be a warning to you that when there's a new technology out there in existence, there's a chance that security will be added in the future. I don't know how much years it will take for security to exist in such new technology like Internet of Things. We might have already found some cloud storage services that have the encryption but what about the IOT devices?
Amazon introduces two new Alexa-powered devices such as Echo Dot and Amazon Tap. Like Amazon Echo, they are Alexa-powered and they offer the same function as Cortana, Siri, Google Now, etc.
For Echo Dot, you will need the speaker that can be connected through bluetooth or wired connection to act as the Amazon Echo. And for Amazon Tap, it has the push-to-talk functionality which is similar to the way you can press the microphone button on Amazon Fire TV Voice Remote.

System Administrators angered over new Windows 10 upgrade push

It is unbelievable that System Administrators were angered upon seeing the Get Windows 10 icon showing up on the taskbar and the message on screen again despite the policies on having the devices being part of the domain and managed with SCCM or WSUS. From Microsoft's defense, it occurred that domain-joined PCs that are not managed with SCCM or WSUS would get the Get Windows 10 app as a reminder to upgrade to Windows 10 but there were system admins that said that even the domain-joined PCs under WSUS received similar messages. The workarounds obviously wouldn't last that long with the new upgrade push nags that keep on going until July this year where Windows 10 is no longer free to upgrade.
And again, it will take us time to look for newer workarounds, policies and other technical solutions but until then, the critical solutions are needed if we want to resume the deployment practice as there are already hardware issues on my computers nowadays.

Opera web browser to have its own Ad-Blocker tool

Like Firefox having its own protection in Tracking Protection mode which is equivalent to various add-ons like Ghostery, HTTPS Everywhere, etc., the newer versions of Opera web browser will have the browser's own Ad-blocking tool so that there's no reason for you to get an Ad-blocking add-on instead. However, there's one downside on having the internal Ad-block tool as part of the web browser, some of the websites will require that you turn off Ad-blocking or you won't be allowed to browse them that you may need another web browser for standby. An external Ad-blocking add-on like uBlock Origin should do the same job in blocking ads but thankfully, there's a way to turn off the internal Ad-blocking tool when necessary on some web sites in Opera web browser.
Unfortunately, it appears that Opera is already on life support at the present time like there's another web browser on the way by former Opera developers as well as the fact that better solutions like uBlock Origin can do the job without being resource hogs.
