Love Live School Idol Festival After School Activity on PS4

Like Project Diva Arcade receiving a console release on PS4 and Switch and being an arcade spinoff to the original Project Diva series, it seems that Love Live School Idol Festival After School Activity is following the same route as well via the upcoming PS4 release that will come out next year, featuring songs, costumes and stages from the arcade version. From the game's official website, you can see which song corresponds to which costume which may seem like a nice touch but there's a severe downside of the game.

The downside is that, you'll have to buy tons of packs of songs and costumes as DLCs and the initial amount of songs and costumes isn't that much when you get the game. Project Diva Future Tone on PS4 has two large DLCs with extra stuffs being later DLCs and the physical package version bundles the first two DLCs. However, in the case of Love Live School Idol Festival After School Activity PS4 version, it goes in the route of past mobile rhythm game days where newer packs of songs added to the game will be paid-DLCs via in-app purchases. Jubeat Plus, Reflec Beat Plus and even some of Rayark rhythm games are notorious for this practice but in case of Rayark rhythm games on mobile, the number of free songs seems to be larger.

As a console port of the arcade game based on the original game that started on mobile way back in 2013, the controls will be a bit different while the gameplay concept still mimics the mobile game original the arcade game uses. A Switch version may mimic the arcade version and the mobile game closer with the touchscreen method.

Like Project Diva Arcade series and its console counterpart, there will be Performance Viewing Mode where you can make your own live show set list and move the camera freely. You can even take screenshots of the live show if you will.

There's even the material collection for costume making and I don't know if this is like a good alternative to buying costume DLC or not. However, other costume materials may require purchasing their corresponding songs.

Overall, the plans like that from Square Enix from the upcoming console version of the arcade game had drawn mixed impressions from the fans. The practice of making paid small packs of songs and costumes while having small amount of free songs in the game has drawn disappointment but the upside is that, it is a console port of the arcade game with tons of songs to go through.

Last month, the arcade game received the final update and after that, there will be no new songs and character cards that the support for the arcade version ended by then.

Progress update

Sometime ago, I forgot to turn off the charging adapter for my main tablet after the battery's reached full capacity and when the tablet was turned off, it wouldn't be turned on again even with the cable plugged in so it looks like my progress on the mobile game of LLSIF came to a halt until recently when I migrated my progress to my phone thanks to having linked the game to my SIF ID. By then, people are already into the next-gen mobile sequel, Love Live School Idol Festival All Stars, which has 3D in-game graphics for gameplay although the gameplay goes on an easier route with the character card management being on a larger scale. At this time, it looks like there will be way too many unlocked songs to go through after the progress migration but I should have migrated way earlier than that.

Thieves pretended to be particular YouTubers and gangs broke into a truck over Playstation 5

Man, the scalping saga is likely to continue on and it sort of does according to the more recent videos about product scalping cases from ReviewtechUSA. It's one scummy business practice that still needs to be dealt with and taken for a crime. And about the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles that cost more than their own original and genuine prices on online stores, it may seem that the scalpers had already earned like a huge amount of money from such scamming actions of theirs. It's basically like a scam and the you may end up getting something else than whatever you've wanted so you need to be careful about buying online as a customer. Who knows what the said scammers are going to do with that amount of money they've got from those illegal online sales?

And to involve YouTubers by impersonation for this same scummy practice is going to make them look bad once they and their viewers find out about it. In fact, it's not even just YouTubers any scalper can pretend to be when it comes to selling products like the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X and even the recent NVIDIA graphics cards for Windows computers. Such products I just mentioned are really expensive but the hardcore-level NVIDIA graphics cards are serious show off of technical power. Such pretense from the scalper can draw negative attention and especially when they pretend to be whatever celebrity or superstar for the same nefarious purposes.

8-Bit Eric and viewers were more or less pissed when it happened but should piss you off more is that the scalpers removed and re-created their accounts to continue the same shady practice. Another problem is that the impersonation account of a YouTuber may have more or less momentum like the number of subscribers than the genuine one but the email account is something the companies may need to carefully determine to see if that email account truly belongs to that YouTuber or not.

From 8-Bit Eric's channel, there's a video of him telling you that he's not selling anything online and warns you that if there's an account that uses his name, a photo of him or both on those online store sites like Offerup, Craigslist, you name it. This kind of trolling as done by the scammer that was caught by 8-Bit Eric isn't anything funny. It didn't seem like an easy challenge for 8-Bit Eric as if the scammer/scalper could try to make misclaims that the genuine person that was 8-Bit Eric was impersonating the scalper when IT WAS ACTUALLY THE OPPOSITE which meant the scammer impersonating 8-Bit Eric, not the other way around. At the end of the video, 8-Bit Eric issued the viewers the stern warning against those scalpers who try to set him up as a scammer. Legal actions against scalpers won't be an easy feat for him as I guess a lawsuit from him against them may be quite costly.

Another different case involved some gangs breaking into a fast-moving truck to steal the Playstation 5 consoles out of it via a stunt. It's like something you'll see in an action movie like Fast and Furious series. I don't know if that kind of movie may cause bad influence or not but such stunts like that because of high demand are total criminal acts. There are various mature AAA games that offer multiple choices in which you can choose to do good things in those games as one of the choices and that is what you should go for. When you do good things in those games, the player character you're playing as eventually gets trusted like the reputation is currently in a good state. But to emulate a character doing a bunch of bad things like some kid driving away his parent's car without a license could cause a news like that to exist permanently.

Patience is a great key when it comes to buying a product online and what those gangs did to get the Playstation 5 console from inside the truck was a desperate act. Sure, a modern electronic device can be considered locked that there's no way to use it should it get stolen or something but that won't stop scalpers from doing such scummy practice as a bricked or stolen console can be a bigger advantage for them. Those who drive the fast-moving trucks should be aware of such acts and there should be some protection feature for the doors at the back of those trucks.

A bill in US that makes streaming copyrighted materials a felony

Man, as if the DMCA strikes targeting streams on Twitch over in-game background music or sound effects weren't disastrous enough, there's an upcoming bill in the US that makes streaming copyrighted material a felony which can spell a serious trouble for streamers and I get a feeling that this applies to other sites as well that offer the streaming feature.

Many games make use of professional sound effects although it seems that professional game developers may have to make such investments for professional use. I don't know if this seems ridiculous or not for Twitch to issue DMCA strikes over sound effects in games but to streamers, this seems unacceptable. Licensed music may seem like a different story as streamers don't have the rights to use it in their own gaming stream or something. I guess that permissions are needed for making a professional stream with such music included and that's the case with many professional Virtual YouTubers who are part of whatever company that specializes in content creation. Of course, those companies have the responsibility to obtain permission from game developers so that the professional content creators have the rights to make a stream like that. What about the professional YouTubers then? Do they need a similar permission as well?

One risky workaround will be to swap some sound effects with a mod but I suppose that's not the point. One of the AAA games, Cyberpunk 2077, has a Streamer Mode option in which you can make a stream of the game safely without involving licensed music. Unfortunately, the same option also reduces whatever that seems inappropriate to Twitch website when turned on so it draws mixed opinions from gaming streamers.

Also, when it comes to making a livestream of licensed console games using the console's streaming tool that comes with it, there's a chance that something like Streamer Mode is already there as part of the tool as if games like Cyberpunk 2077 will need to corporate with that tool or something in which turning on Streamer Mode unlocks access to that tool. It's a safer but questionable way. What's more questionable is the licensed rhythm games on consoles in which when people see the archived stream videos done using the console's livestream tool, the licensed music is completely absent. It's ridiculous to blame the developers or console manufacturers when that happens. It's also questionable to get around such absence by using some other streaming tool.

To the content creators like ReviewtechUSA, the upcoming bill like that is comparable to the SO** bill way back in 2011 when it was heavily opposed that it was scrapped. Electronic Frontier Foundation, Fight For The Future, Access Now, etc. are already concerned about the Felony Streaming bill like it can be a disaster for the streamers' future if passed.

Google Analytics feature on Switch

Like the Playstation 5's controversial Party Voice Chat Recording feature which thankfully can be turned off, this can be the same for Google Analytics feature for the Switch. But there's one thing to take note, it is not available in European and Australian Nintendo accounts and Switch Eshops. I don't know the goddamn reason for even Nintendo to follow the controversy Sony caused with the Playstation 5's Party Voice Chat feature, as if the controversy regrading Xbox One Kinect wasn't big enough when it comes to privacy.

It's already a shame that there are people who don't care about privacy being compromised and I can recall someone taking privacy advocates for fools through his/her own idiotic comments at the time. Playstation 4 had tons of consumer respect when it was announced and released that it put the Xbox One to shame due to the controversy Microsoft caused at the time. Fast-forward to the release of the Switch and we can know that the amount of units of the Switch console is super-large as if Nintendo did the right thing with the console design idea in the 8th console generation. It's basically what the Wii U should have been in terms of innovation.

Well, privacy is still able to go on even this year and such features such as Party Voice Chat Recording for Playstation 5 or Google Analytics for Nintendo Switch can be turned off if you really value privacy. However, if you're still on Playstation 4, there's somewhat of a problem when it comes to joining a Party Voice Chat that involves the Playstation 5 users. There's no telling if the Recording feature is on or off. It's a little big of a deal when compared to turning off data collection features on Switch or even the Firefox web browser in which Mozilla always asks for permission.

PS5 Scalping Group snatches opportunity to order 1000 Xbox Series X but orders are cancelled due to "technical error"

Well, we're back at this scummy saga again with the part two involving the same group who got 3500 PS5 units. This Time, they tried to order 1000 Xbox Series X using the bots involved but their orders were cancelled due to "technical error". The same error affected the REAL customers who wanted to buy the next-gen consoles online. It left them disappointed but at the same time, they should be surprised about the fact that something like 1000 orders of Xbox Series X units backfired on the scalping group. It sort of angered the scalping group or something but the chaos like this regarding the next-gen console launch is still on-going and we don't know when will this scummy business stop.

About the part when the same scalping group said that they had "no regrets", as they claimed, they would continue to do such scummy things like ordering 1000 Xbox Series X units online. It's kind of like how "unusual activities" at the Golden Village cinemas are still allowed there in which anyone can book there just to do something else instead of watching movies with "no regrets". It's sickening that one of the idiot-bookers/Idiots-On-Facebook, got only positive reactions, articles and compliments like two weeks ago and that's that. Will those idiot-bookers do the same shit again in the future with "no regrets"? That is something I don't know. I also don't know if anyone else will be stupid enough to do the same thing as those idiot-bookers did or not.

If that's not scummy enough, the online stores have the units of Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles having an extremely high price with some Playstation 5 units costing a million bucks. This kind of action should be a crime to us! Another scummy problem is that the customers got something else instead of whatever next-gen console they ordered. Perhaps, some scalping group must have tempered with the customers' orders or something. What if the customers got a non-working console or even a console in a damaged state?

Then, there's another scummy practice someone had done according to one of ReviewtechUSA's videos regarding the on-going chaotic scalping saga for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X, and that is to impersonate a professional YouTuber and doing what that YouTuber didn't do, selling next-gen consoles through impersonation. It's not just a YouTuber any scalper can impersonate like a scammer that they are. It can be any other professional occupation. However, that case is a different story of another time as it involved some individual scalper, not that same scalping group.

Armored Princess Battle Conductor

The robot-themed action figure franchise seems to be back with the upcoming mobile and arcade games from Konami as announced from this year's JAEPO. The arcade game by the name of Armored Princess Battle Conductor has some interesting cabinet design with the left extra monitor displaying the characters you're currently playing as during gameplay like it reminds me of the link animation from Arcana Heart 3 or something. Like Sega's Ongeki, there will be character card slots to insert character cards on. There's also the customization stuff along with in-game photo-taking and other stuffs although you'll be doing all that within the limited time since it's an arcade game.

The strange thing about the game is that, the gameplay takes place in the house's living room and the characters are all figure-sized like it's Toy Story version of a robot action game and that makes sense since the franchise started off with action figures in the 2000s but the previous games based on the franchise didn't seem like that as if the gameplay takes place in the actual battlefields. OK, it turns out that even this latest game entry will HAVE stages taking place elsewhere instead of the house. There are other things to rant about like CHARGING CREDITS/PASELIS TO DRAW ADDITIONAL CARDS and of course, the character doing something I can't describe once she's knocked out and then she disappears from the field after a while. Note that the armor that she has disappears first upon getting knocked out. The character should stay lying down upon defeat before disappearing. Normally, in a third-person team-vs-team action game for the arcades, the match doesn't end until one of various conditions is fulfiilled so if a character is defeated, it's not over yet. In the case of Gunslinger Stratos series, the match can actually end if one of the teams has emptied the team health gauge completely so one of the characters from the defeated team must have faced a final knock out of something.

Armed Princess Battle Conductor will have its Card Entry Terminal thingy where you can print the character cards. Sega's Ongeki has the terminal thingy and you're charged each credit or something for each card printed. Like most of Japanese mobile games, there will be character cards of multiple rarity levels so it looks like there will be PAID LOOT BOX feature in an arcade game like this and there's a purpose in drawing character cards for the sake of gameplay and more powerful characters by higher rarity levels.

If you're interested in a franchise like this from Konami, then maybe this latest arcade entry is what you'll try should it come out one day outside Japan. However, if you're trying to feel offended over anyone ranting about microtransactions and loot boxes being like gambling features in video games, don't bother making defensive comments on their content. You'll be scolded online for defending such a greedy practice like spending too much real money on buying in-game currency for the sake of using that currency to keep drawing character cards until you get the ones you want. Plus, a run of a modern arcade game already costs $1 or more in the local arcades and the addition of loot box feature that charges you additional credits may look like a worse story than other game modes charging you additional credits.

Armored Princess Battle Conductor will be out in the arcades next month and questions about console/PC releases may be difficult ones since the game looks next-gen compared to the previous game in the series.

Capcom Retro Station

Like Capcom Home Arcade, Capcom Retro Station is another expensive equipment with low amount of games, this time with Street Fighter and Megaman games and needless to say, this is like a lame way like that with an expensive gaming machine that doesn't look like a smaller arcade cabinet design along with lower amount of games and the inclusion of NON-ARCADE Megaman games.

Capcom Home Arcade has various arcade games and uses the arcade controller design although it is shaped like a Capcom logo which may seem unusual. The bigger controversy surrounding it was the Final Burn Alpha emulator used in it. That emulator is supposed to be for personal use and the team who worked on it wasn't happy about it. So what happened was that they made a new fork which is like Final Burn Alpha you know of, MINUS the offender who defended the controversial practice, saying that the emulator is licensed. Some updates later, a different emulator replaced the Final Burn Alpha although the price of the machine and the amount of games still make things questionable.

Speaking of questionable, this is a worse story for Capcom Retro Station. It's sort of like a mini-version of playing a console game on TV with the arcade controller. That method of playing has been around ever since the 80s. I happened to play the PC-Engine with the arcade controller in my childhood and that was that back then. I never used the original controller for that console for the games I played. On the Megaman side, it's a questionable choice with a mix of arcade and non-arcade Megaman games. The Street Fighter side is a complete joke like it's comparable to some Street Fighter compilation game on PS1 and Saturn that contains various revisions of Street Fighter II. Super Street Fighter II may seem like a remake to Street Fighter II with better music, voices and altered graphics but it's still Street Fighter II in general, not a different game, no matter how different it looks and sounds. The design is ridiculous like there's no telling who is that machine built for.

The Neo Geo Mini is fine with sufficient amount of games with a design that mimics the original arcade cabinet but the lack of clicky mechanism the arcade stick has may probably put people off. The upcoming Astro City Mini from Sega will have that for sure and the emulation is worked on by M2. But for Capcom Retro Station, who probably wants to buy that? Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is already the best way to experience the Street Fighter series from Street Fighter 1-3, Alpha series included.

Like the Astro City Mini, Capcom Retro Station is getting a Japanese release sometime next month. Who knows if there will be an overseas release? Even with the western release, the amount of flaws already ruins Capcom Retro Station apart as listed below:

  • Questionable choice of games on both sides
  • Inclusion of non-arcade Megaman games and the lack of other Street Fighter games in the Street Fighter list
  • Strange design
  • Expensive price
  • Low amount of games

Have five flaws like these listed above and you get one hell of an average machine.

Cinema hall booked for gaming?

What were those four patrons thinking when it comes to a shopping trip? Don't they have anything else to do besides shopping? HOW COULD THEY BOOK A CINEMA HALL FOR SOMETHING ELSE LIKE THAT? Normally, when it comes to cinemas, you'll go there to book a seat or something to watch a specific movie you want. You'll need to plan where you want to seat as well as the time slot when the movie will be screened.

The idea originated at the beginning of November and it kicked in several days ago when they had secured a time slot that would last 3 HOURS. And they claimed that they had "No Regrets" like they had a blast and once in a lifetime experience or something.

And the worse thing is, the cinema even allows something unusual like this to happen like it's more than watching a movie, as if the future customers want to go there to do the same thing as those FOUR PATRONS DID. You know what, TO THE BASEMENT with this unusual idea! I don't want to follow this kind of encouragement by going to a cinema just for something else like they did.

Of course, according to The Independent website, one of the patrons had the guts to dismiss the online complaint someone shared on social media against them. It seems that I can't access the link from that website as if that post was taken down or something. If it's not the complaint, then what is this to me, Surprise Experience?

What about the games with microtransactions and loot boxes? What can the cinema do? Is there a restriction to those games that have microtransactions and loot boxes? Even mobile games are considered video games for sure as if the smartphones/tablets can be hooked up to the theater projector or some sort. What about a gaming livestream, huh? Do cinemas give customers the rights for that?

What about LAN shops in Singapore, then? Isn't that a better choice instead of gaming in a cinema theater? Or maybe that's out of the question as they specialize in computer games, not console/mobile games. Even the arcade center may seem like a better choice, for arcade gaming only that is.

PS5 Scalping Group Claims That They Have "No Regrets" After Getting 3500 Units

Like the previous generation Playstation consoles, the amount of units being sold overall are quite super-high ever since the original Playstation. The same can probably go for various Nintendo consoles as well. However, the real problem is about product scalping in which scalpers sell the products they've obtained for a higher price and this is the one plaguing the Playstation 5 console with one group getting 3500 units. It's one scummy act and we hope that product scalping is a crime to begin with. Unfortunately, product scalping isn't a crime in the US on the federal level but some states view it as a demeanor. Depending on where you live, scalping or price gouging may or may not be illegal.

The situation is already out of control when it comes to Playstation 5 and the demands for that console are already quite high. One scalping group that has 3500 units had the AUDACITY to claim that they have "no regrets" for their actions. They also made the bots that messed up the online orders for Playstation 5 console in which instead of getting it as what the victims wanted, they got something else instead.

The group even has its own website that says that you can make Risk Free Profits through resales but of course, you'll surely find that site nefarious. They also had another audacity to lie online in social media, saying that the bots were not involved when the bots were INDEED involved in the mess as portrayed by the media. As the title of the blog post suggests, they claimed that they have "no regrets". However, a backlash was already drawn and I don't know if they will truly realize their mistakes and regret their actions. Needless to say, the comments on that social media post are mostly negative.

The video from Yongyea about this situation may probably say things all in detail and especially for the interesting comments I referred to.

Speaking of "No Regrets", I had seen a local news article that mentions four patrons booking a local cinema just to do something else but that will be in the next blog post. It's scummy enough for that scalping group to get away with "no regrets" like that and now, I discovered a different group that mentioned that they had "no regrets" as well.

Popular mobile games of the past

As if the previous blog article I wrote that mentioned something like Fl***y Bird somewhere in it wasn't enough due to the discovery of one of the recent news articles from Neowin about popular mobile games on Android, I may as well mention those past mobile games that article mentioned here. At the time, certain popular mobile games mentioned on that article had microtransactions as in-app purchases of premium virtual currency or additional default virtual currency using real money so you can use that feature for buying in-game items or upgrades and such. When I say additional default virtual currency, it means the only virtual currency in the game gets additional currency points. There are multiple ways the default virtual currency can be increased provided that it's the only kind of virtual currency in the game. Sometime in the early 2010s, there were eventually mobile games that introduced loot box feature but I won't include them in this blog post here as this is quite a different story.

So here are the past mobile games listed below:

Angry Birds

The classic Angry Birds games came out on mobile without any charge although they seem to have tons of levels with further levels being quite difficult. Having endless amounts of levels along with microtransaction for purchasing items as an easy way to proceed is what threw me off the most, more on that later, but with multiple Angry Birds games with tons of levels, it's going to seem like you would need tons of free time to attempt those levels if you could.

Temple Run, Subway Surfers, Jetpack Joyride & Fruit Ninja

They may seem simple concept-wise but the item-upgrade is what increases the replay value. The same may go for other games that are not endless runner games. Fruit Ninja has tons of sequels and versions with Kinect and VR being the good gaming experimental ways to play with full motion controls and usage of in-game slicer weapons to slice down fruits in the VR world using VR controllers. Even Angry Birds franchise has the VR spinoff as well but I don't know if there will be a VR endless runner game as well as if the only way to slide or jump will be through a press of a button while bashing away whatever obstacles coming your way or even avoiding whatever you're not supposed to run into.

Candy Crush & other similar freemium match-3 puzzle games

This is the kind of game you'll probably love or hate. Further levels will be TOUGH and that wasted tons of my time until I cleared some further levels by luck without even buying the in-game items or some sort through microtransactions. Maybe I'm better off with NOT spending money on microtransaction stuff as it may seem like a dangerous and addictive act in gaming. I could have used the money on something more important.
Hell, there's a good alternative to Candy Crush series that existed and that is Sugar Shock, from the same man who made the Bejeweled series of games and that follows the classic Bejeweled Blitz which relies on skills and luck for score. At least, that is a better time to spend on instead of Candy Crush which I couldn't tolerate anymore. It's a shame that EA had to follow suit with Bejeweled Stars for the sake of gaining additional money.

Flappy Bird and other games similar to it

This is one game I pretty much despised and avoided due to unoriginality of assets and garbage gameplay although its clones might have different look while retaining the same gameplay. The pipes looked like something from the Mario franchise and people including me eventually bashed the hell out of the game due to plagiarism and such.
Speaking of plagiarism of Nintendo IP stuff, there was some game like Giana Sisters on C64. One real fact is that, the lawsuit NEVER happened at all when it comes to the original Giana Sisters game on C64. Rather, Nintendo asked that the original Giana Sisters game be booted off the retail stores. Later games in the Giana Sisters series distanced themselves from the original Giana Sisters game.
The original Flappy Bird game was taken down due to bad influence such as addicting nature coming from it according to the sole developer. However, the damage was already done even if that game was taken down and with endless amounts of clones, the power of plagiarism has been running amok in the world of mobile games. At least, I had seen a paid professional indie game that took that power and its indie developer got away with it without being called out until the upcoming console/PC release that will take place next year. The power is real starting with stolen sound effects and the graphical assets are still similar to whatever the developer took even with various differences made.
Another stupid thing was the sales of IOS devices bundled with the original Flappy Bird app inside them after the game was booted off the app store.

Plagiarism in professional game development and music/video content theft = Copyright Infringement?

One serious note is that this blog post will be quite different than what Sidalpha made a video of when it comes to plagiarism in game industry. I blogged things about Filip Miucin as one notorious example of how much damage he had done to his reputation. Not even an apology is enough to help convince us as I expect something else like mistake realization. Sure, I did a bunch of stupid shit in the past but a change of the way I do nowadays as long as it's a good way and I'm doing right things may seem like something although it's still not enough to surpass mistake realization which is something that can convince people into knowing that I realized my mistakes or whatnot. Who knows how long until such past mistakes are eventually realized one day? From Sidalpha's video about plagiarism in game industry, it's obvious that plagiarism will not be tolerated by game developer companies or game review companies like IGN which is one company Filip Miucin was fired from. Right now, I'm not interested in the other culprit who took the Call of Duty Black Ops story script from the other person although the other culprit happens to be another YouTuber. Even as a YouTuber, plagiarism will not be tolerated or some sort as if you'll be called out online for doing that.

As I previously blogged about Rangok Skies/Operation Dracula, it is notorious for stolen assets that may seem like plagiarism. The ones the sole developer took already look obviously similar to the source material no matter the amount of differences. The sound effects already took plagiarism to the next level which is real copyright infringement. Plus, the game was PASSED OFF AS A PAID PROFESSIONAL INDIE GAME, first released on mobile, followed by the upcoming console/PC releases that will happen next year with even MORE plagiarized stuffs. Unfortunately, it looks like lawsuits against that sole developer won't happen easily due to how expensive the cost for one lawsuit can be. Not to mention that Cave Interactive is a small company or some kind. Perhaps, Sega and SNK can sue that developer because of those stolen sound effects as that kind of action the developer did is like a violation of a copyright law. Having stolen sound effects in a professional indie game like this have already made it worse than Fl***y Bird, probably after the power of the plagiarism started running amok like 6 years ago in the world of mobile gaming.

Another case I know of was about some artwork being stolen by Soulja Boy and used as a song album jacket. There were already different cases I mentioned like selling clone consoles he didn't invent whatsoever and passing them off as manufactured by him but that was a different story I already blogged about.

Another one involved a music cyber-thief named, Dimwell. That person was stealing tracks that were produced by other DJs/producers as well as false reporting their work and passing off the stolen tracks as his own productions. It may seem like copyright infringement but to me, what that person did was different than plagiarism for sure. I made a reply tweet to Fallensuperhero about this when I saw a tweet of his about someone downloading his YouTube video and then posting it on that person's channel because the video theft thingy wasn't the first time I saw on social media.

Then, there comes a problem whenever such culprits like the Rangok Skies developer got called out for their actions, and that is to call those who called out those culprits various things as an immature way of lashing out. The obvious examples from Rangok Skies developer involve calling those things like uneducated, authentic son of something, delusional piece of shit, etc. Even the Devil Engine developer got insulted when calling out the Rangok Skies developer as a result when being shown the comparison picture between the source material and the one used for Devil Engine. Another problem is the defensive brats defending the culprits who are being called out. So, about Soulja Boy being called out at that time for illegal clone console manufacturing and artwork theft for his song album jacket, there were those defensive white knights bringing out whatever that had nothing to do with the trouble he caused. I won't mention those outside things that were brought out here even though they had nothing to do with the problem he caused as bringing out those outside terms like that whenever he called out was sort of immature.

Citing source locations may be one thing under the Reference list for whatever you take as well as mentioning various source materials but major difference is probably another important factor like have you made something you've taken look a lot different? It may seem like it for Rangok Skies developer but the difference isn't that much that the things he took were still quite similar to source materials. There's no complete point fixing that game as it can be challenge in redoing it from scratch until it is a whole lot different.

Playstation 4 Firmware 8.0 Update Controversy

What the hell is Sony thinking with a controversial feature update to the Party Voice Chat for Playstation 4 and Playstation 5? This caused a backlash on Sony although they quickly responded to the privacy concerns the users already had. At least, the plan for data collection through this isn't as big as the Xbox One Kinect or Windows 10, with the latter ruining the peace that came with Xbox One when it first came out.

For the Party Voice Chat recording, you have the option to turn it on or off but that's a feature on Playstation 5. When you join the chat with the PS5 users, you'll be notified that the voice chat will be recorded and submitted by the PS5 users to Sony for moderation. I don't know if that will solve the on-going toxicity or not and especially for the false reports that caused superior players to get their accounts falsely terminated for whatever reasons. Needless to say, the voice chat stuff has been around ever since 2013 when the Playstation 4 initially launched and the update has a warning message alerting users that they will get recorded by the Playstation 5 users when they join the chat. ALSO, even without THIS CONTROVERSIAL UPDATE, there have been other ways the players' voices are recorded through video capture or even recording conversation on Discord or other platforms REGARDLESS on whichever gaming platform the players play on.

With an update like this, it has already driven many players to switch gaming platforms like the Xbox, Switch or even computers via Steam, GOG, etc. It's a common controversy plaguing both Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 and one bigger definition of a Playstation 4 userbase sell-out and betrayal several years after Playstation 4 first launched with initial respect for customers in mind.

Darius Cozmic Revelation - Mixed Impressions

Man, you call that HD when only the jagginess of the edges is gone without other enhancements in HD Mode of G-Darius in the compilation through upscaling? At least the other PS1 games that are ported to other modern platforms have remastered graphics whether they're standalone or part of the compilation. Even as an arcade shooter, the HD Mode should have REDONE graphics with true Hi-Res textures, various shaders and the explosion effects having Add/Screen type Alpha Blending. Raystorm HD already has remade graphics although something's off with the in-game aspect ratio and the remade graphics are not that great. The price is what turned many critics off the most as a result.

Recently, there was a PS1 emulation core in Retroarch that allows custom textures in PS1 games but until the recent time, having something like custom textures or hi-res textures on PS1 emulators is no easy feat due to the way the PS1 performs. The N64 emulators already allow that opportunity probably due to the fact that the N64 console has the RAM expansion stuff. Even the Dreamcast emulators have that same opportunity as well. The screenshots of the N64 and Dreamcast games on emulators I saw had the sharp looking textures with that mod. Perhaps, anyone can try having Hi-Res textures with the use of Beetle PSX HW core for Retroarch and there's even the Widescreen option in the emulators as well although not all games may look like that and there will or will not be inaccuracies depending on the setup. There are ways to make Hi-Res textures for Beetle PSX HW core.

I don't know if the HD port of G-Darius in the compilation is emulation-based or some sort but M2 surely specializes on the emulation quite well and especially for a 32-Bit console-era game like G-Darius which performs well in the compilation. The one in the compilation is based on the arcade version whether you choose HD Mode or Original Mode which is kind of like the Arcade Mode of various Cave arcade shooters on Xbox 360. The resolution is like extremely low, around 240p for those games but it's basically what the arcade version of those games is like originally.

Another game in the compilation is Darius Burst Another Chronicle EX+ which actually has its own additions like additional stages and additional music in Event Mode. It's the same repetitiveness as Chronicle Mode but Event Mode seems a little bit more reasonable like getting your score recorded for instance. The additional music that's exclusive to EX+ is what I anticipate the most upon hearing it from ZUNTATA's live stream of the compilation game and the music from the upcoming album CD being shown.

Netflix and Cu***s Controversy Part Three - Angry Rant

If the Netflix movie, Cu**es, is super-awful in my opinion due to too many flaws, then why do I want a Part Three blog article about this? Well, the saga sort of continues with some YouTuber by the name of MrGirl, making a defensive review of that movie and he got called out by many people as a result. Even TheQuartering made a video about him although I don't recommend that you subscribe to his channel or follow his social media accounts as I find his content list and thumbnail quite distracting. Plus, I'm interested in the gaming news, reviews and discussions on the net so having videos about other stuffs on his channel are one definition of delving way too deep.

Sure, MrGirl can defend that garbage movie all he wants and I already blocked him on YouTube and Twitter for advocating such disturbing stuffs depicted in it. Hell, I even blocked the others who promoted/supported/organized the M1 Fringe Festival of 2017 as that festival was severely disturbing and it already caused a controversy back then. I do not condone whatever disturbing stuffs depicted in that movie. It's one selfish and disturbing garbage in my opinion as if the director had the actresses to fulfill whatever moment she was NOT supposed to fulfill.

Rangok Skies/Operation Dracula Controversy (Updated)

Operation Dracula was first released on mobile although the Android version was taken down. It is a bullet-hell shooter containing assets that are plagiarized or derived. Even some of the sound effects are stolen from various games that can easily be construed as plagiarism. For graphical assets, they are little bit different even in hi-res form although they're not that original. Perhaps, the sole developer of the game is a little bit worse than other sole game developers then.

At the time the game was released on mobile, we didn't have any interest or knowledge about it until years later when we eventually discovered it on social media. Since it was released first on mobile, the developer got away with having released it without being called out whatsoever as if the power of plagiarism ran amok that it already infested mobile gaming so quickly after the release of Flappy Bird. The upcoming console/PC versions have MORE plagiarized/derived graphical assets with the external in-game UI looking like the one from Crimzon Clover. Other assets look like the ones from Toaplan, 8ing and even Cave arcade shooters. Another controversial part is the sales of the game with such stolen assets. It's kind of wrong to pass it off as a professional-level indie game when it's on the same level as Gwange Dash which was no longer available for download due to copyright complaints from Cave back then. Gwange Dash is a fanmade-level indie game that you could obtain for free as it has the derived copyrighted materials. The same can pretty much go for Xeno Fighters by EddyMRA which has more copyrighted materials put in. Another Japanese indie game I played back then was Storm Calibur which happens to have copyrighted sound effects taken from various shmup games, Thunder Force V, Terra Diver, Dodonpachi, etc. At that time, it was bundled with other computer games on the optical disc. It was stored on a blank box with no cover/label art whatsoever. I wasn't an adult when I played that so I had no idea on where was that disc bought from.

The disappointing things about Operation Dracula/Rangok Skies are as follows:

  1. Not all sound effects are implemented when things happen such as the bomb/special attack activation, the ship getting destroyed and the ship approaching from the bottom of the screen, etc. Only the voices are present when those things happen.
  2. Rapid-firing speed isn't that fast when holding down the Shot button.
  3. Large boss explosion is completely absent upon defeating the stage-end bosses. Shmup games of the present time should have that.

One thing that's not worth doing to the game is replacing stolen assets with a mod. The larger portions of the graphics can be difficult to replace and even if the sound effects and graphics are replaced like that, the gameplay is still the same and to change the gameplay via programming is going to be a riskier idea when it comes to modding modern games on PC.

With stolen sound effects and graphical assets as I mentioned at the beginning, a C&D is likely to come towards the sole developer as a lawsuit is going to cost tons of money. Cave is still active even today although they've been making mobile games with one of them still on-going for longer time. It wasn't easy for Cave to keep the mobile gaming business going and especially for certain mobile games developed by them that didn't last that long. It seems that Cave can be one of the active game companies to plan to sue the hell out of the sole developer of Rangok Skies if they want to but nobody knows if the lawsuit or C&D will happen or not. The only upside that is not part of the controversy is the soundtrack which is licensed. And nowadays, the composer wants to undo the license but if he can't do that as the sole developer refuses to be part of that undo, he may as well enhance the music he composed for the upcoming game, Westgunne, which is like a downgraded version of the cancelled Heaven's Variant which is done using UE3. Westgunne is made by the Heaven's Variant developers using Unity and showcases various creative things using 2D graphics.

The game is supposed to be released in two months but for whatever reason, it is delayed and set for January release next year. Not to mention that the sole developer recently had started the official Twitter account, only to get called out for the amount of plagiarism. The defense is immature for sure like calling those who called out the developer things like uneducated, kid, etc. Man, I bet that the developer may deserve to be on Sidalpha's Dirty Dev list.

The video above is edited with the Effekseer effects I made using the assets that come with the program and I used some sound effects from Sound Effect Lab. At the time I made the video, no assets were changed. Not to mention that I'm no Unity user as I find it much harder than Game Maker Studio and it has traditional coding stuff which is also difficult for me.

Netflix and Cu***s Controversy Part Two (Angry rant?)

GREAT SCOTT, it's so much WORSE and MORE DISTURBING than we imagined when it comes to the movie, Cu**es, that recently came out on Netflix! This is part two of the controversy blog article and there are tons of latest info about this. Hell, even Sidalpha made a review video of that movie and I sort of agree with it. Sure, his channel is gaming-news related and especially that he does tons of Dirty-Devs videos but I fear that I cannot provide a link to that review video here.
The plot is unspeakably more questionable than I thought via a tweet on how questionable its source idea is. The protagonist does a bunch of bad things like a selfish character like, stealing her neighbor/cousin's phone with no intention of returning it back as well as telling him lies that she couldn't find it, retaliate her MALE classmate with a pencil for being provoked for whatever she did on social media, pushing her groupmate into a lake although her groupmate nearly drowned thanks to having grabbed something, fabricating the accusation on the security guard when he tries to detain her group, ruining the competition by realizing whatever she's done in the middle of the performance, getting the audience shocked about her actions and of course, taking an indecent photo of herself and posting on social media, attracting tons of negative attention and rejection from her classmates.
Certain situations the protagonist has caused remain unsolved as if the whole thing is rushed. To Sidalpha, the rest of the movie story is like dull or some sort and the way she turns over a new leaf with no punishments delivered to her is sort of bad enough. And of course, a bunch of highly disturbing scenes that will easily draw discomfort, the dance scene included.
So the serious flaws are that:
  1. Protagonist becoming quite selfish like she's gone on the dark side
  2. Fabricating the accusation on the security guard
  3. Posting something extremely indecent to social media
  4. Protagonist bursting into tears and getting her cover blown at the event venue in the middle of the performance
  5. Certain situations the protagonist has done remain unsolved
  6. Flawed execution of the story as if the dance thing is the most focused one in the movie making
  7. Extremely disturbing scenes (Dance scene included)
  8. What's with the protagonist's family?
  9. The message that is supposed to be against such disturbing stuffs is hypocritical
I bet that anyone can give the movie, Cu**es, the LOWEST score out of 10 but of course, most of them have already given it a 0 out of 100 at Metacritic. The same goes for them giving it a similar kind of score at Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB. Of course, there has to be a professional reason on why you give the movie a 0 out of 10. The petitions in calling for the movie to be cancelled were right to exist but they were defeated by its release on Netflix.
In Turkey, the movie is fortunately delayed or cancelled and we may be glad about that. However, it seems that both the movie director and Netflix have the FILTHY guts to defend the movie. The encouragement from Netflix is nefarious and people had already cancelled the subscription as a result. Indeed, people were in the right to cancel their subscription with no point in giving both the movie and Netflix a second chance. Also, Netflix had blown it again, and again, and again, like a repeat offender with 365 Days being the cause of the similar backlash. Even the Pakistani actor had cancelled his Netflix subscription as well.
Like the Arcane City Game Studios' offending interviews, one of the interviews to the movie director from Indiewire is going to be an offending one in which she mentioned that the people who still have yet to watch the movie had started the controversy. Also, the positive scores coming from the critics are offensive to us as well like how even today's EA sports games get the amount of similar positive scores from the critics. Man, talk about the SEVERE LACK of honesty and from the number of flaws I stated above, the movie already deserves such an extremely low score. It's sickening to us and it's sickening even more on how it got the awards in the first place.
Lastly, if there's anyone defending that disturbing movie, they deserve to be blocked on the net. There's no giving it a second chance whatsoever and even without such disturbing stuffs, it is still bad due to the large number of flaws I stated above. And to call this garbage, beautiful or art, is an understatement coming out of anyone's filthy mouth disguised as a strict mouth.

Netflix and Cu***s movie controversy

If the Goodbye Volcano High controversy regarding its writer's previous work wasn't bad enough although she already realized her mistake and apologized online, how about the movie that will come out on Netflix in September 9? It originally was in theaters in France and Sundance Festival this year and got a GODDAMN AWARD for a questionable movie plot.
The idea for the movie plot is questionable to me like it's supposed to criticize whatever disturbing things involving little children but I don't know if it's really criticizing or enabling such indecency towards the young characters depicted as main characters in the movie. At first, the protagonist has seen her neighbor doing some dance that is supposed to be for adults or something and yet she straight away gets into it like it's something quite interesting for her, defying the family rules or some sort. I guess that if her family finds out about this, there should be consequences given to her. In case of the movie rating for Cu**es, it is rated TV-MA by Netflix for some reason, as if that movie has a bunch of mature things that are too inappropriate. It's like the main characters don't realize that things like that dance isn't appropriate for kids. Even the other movie, 365 dni, as mentioned by that Decider article is getting closer to be a native adult movie on Netflix.
From that same article, even other movies on Netflix had caused a similar controversy as well so what are you doing to do, unsubscribe from Netflix like many angry viewers did? There had been petitions demanding that the movie be cancelled but I don't know if this is in vain or something. It's a gross marketing coming from Netflix and they've been repeat offenders. Despite the apology, they still allowed such indecent movies on the service.
Sure, I don't give a shit about the stories depicted in the cancelled Steam games published by Arcane City Game Studios as everything about them is too disturbing but in the case of the movie, Cu**es, the idea for the plot is questionable. It's like a director drags the young actors to do something indecent as part of the movie production only for the discomfort to kick in immediately. So, what are they going to do, escape from that discomfort zone and switch movie? What if we get forced to attend an event that's extremely indecent with punishments for not attending being the threats given to us?
It's really sickening on how Netflix promoted the movies like this and especially for the award given for the movie plot whose idea is questionable. If the actresses involved in this movie felt uncomfortable when assigned to do that dance, there would be consequences for those involved in the production of the movie. Even a character snapping out of it and trying to realize what they've done at the end of the movie won't help. What will happen next is that the character may move on sometime after that or receive such consequences for their actions first. There's no giving Netflix or the movie, Cu**es an another chance if a controversy like this continues in the future. So if you want to defend/support Netflix's disturbing promotions like the poster and the description of the movie that partially didn't match what it was all about, you deserve to be strictly blocked on social media as I DO NOT CONDONE such indecency.

Windows 12 Lite Controversy Part Three

Sometime after Michael MJD posted a part two video of Windows 12 Lite, he eventually got a burned DVD-RW copy of that fraudulent operating system that was sent to him. It seemed that he wasn't the only one who purchased it online from the online store that seemed fraudulent. Apparently, someone else managed to get a copy of the Windows 12 Lite DVD disc that was similarly seen in the Reddit post and made an ISO image out of that disc so that the ISO image would be burned to the DVD-RW disc. Of course, as the online store seemed fraudulent, a better bet would be to use the burner credit card which is like a decoy credit card you can surrender to as who knows what will those cyber-criminals behind that online store will do to your actual credit card if you enter its information there for your online purchase.

Despite the site change or whatnot, that illegal sale of Windows 12 Lite is still there. Needless to say, the copy Michael MJD had turned out to be the unmodified form of Linux Lite 4.8. You could have gotten Linux Lite 4.8 easily from its official site for free instead!

Well, it's about several months wasted in finding out what Windows 12 Lite is like on the inside. I guess that some negative attention attraction might be the cause of that time wastage.

And to the one who made a video of himself installing Windows 12 Lite and claiming that it's the best OS, that defense and shilling should be sickening to us as it may seem delusional.

Student in Japan arrested for making threats to Konami due to the bug in mobile game

This isn't the first time I knew of a case about someone getting arrested for making such threats to the game company. The previous case was about a suspect making such threats to Square Enix over what, the loot box feature in mobile games or something that he got arrested for that but in the recent case, it's about the high school student in Japan making such threats to Konami over the bug in the Pro Evolution Soccer mobile game in which the series is also known as Winning Eleven in Japan.

What kind of mental issue was that that drove him to making threats like that? And when it comes to the mental issue topic mixed with Konami, there were wild guesses from people like "It's something due to the company not offering whatever new games from the classic franchise he wants", or something like that. But no, it's not all due to Konami having no plans to come up with newer games from various classic franchises like Castlevania, Metal Gear or even Silent Hill. So if you think that Konami has nothing left after whatever happened to Castlevania, Metal Gear or even other classic franchises you know of, you may be mistaken. Some other franchises like the Bemani and sports video game franchises are still on-going even today with newer sports games from Konami like the ones centered on baseball or soccer are still being released on consoles and mobile. There's one warning though, later sports video games from Konami may or may not have microtransactions and loot boxes.

Another recent progress is that some of the franchises already made a comeback but even then, there's no guarantee that such comebacks may restore those franchises' reputation. Contra Rogue Corps and Metal Gear Survive are already bad examples with the other recent games being the opposite.

Sure, the reputation of Konami had become that bad but it doesn't give anyone like that student the excuse to make such threats to them over whatever happened to him like he lost match due to the bug that angered him. Of course, many players vent their frustration over highly difficult obstacles in video games but it takes them time to succeed after sometime even with sufficient solution. Another situation will be you challenge other human players online. Who knows what will come at you when you are like, victorious or some sort but that's a situation of another time? One more gaming situation regards the microtransactions and loot boxes in video games where you draw a box/card pack of random rare items at the cost of in-game currency. It's no easy feat to collect a complete specific group of items like that that it may require tons of luck like it's gambling or some kind. Some of the Virtual YouTubers are seen drawing card items like that in certain mobile games and their behavior is unspeakably insane or some sort. The worse thing about microtransaction+loot box practice is about spending tons of real money just for that combined bullshit and the same practice can be found in the arcades via some of modern Konami and Sega arcade games there where DRAWING EACH REAL CARD REPRESENTING A CHARACTER REQUIRES EACH CREDIT or something. Plus, I don't know if such practices may advance the gaming addiction or not.

Another off-topic will be the JAEPO event which is a gaming event in Japan that showcases arcade games, redemption games, vending machines, etc. I'm sure that Konami has been involved in that event like regularly and especially for the Konami Arcade Championship. However, if you're going there just to demand Konami or Sega to come up with new games from whatever classic franchise like they're your puppets or something out of your immature mind and you have blatant disregard over whatever they're showing there, you may as well be banned for causing trouble like that.

"If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die" the animation

Like High Score Girl, this one should be a great reminder regarding the behavior of the idol nerds. For High Score Girl, there are notorious moments like someone banging the machine as tantrum throwing whenever they lose in the game at the arcades as well as someone getting into a fight over the game as well. Those same notorious moments can happen anywhere besides the arcade centers or maybe there are more than two notorious moments I've mentioned. However, in this cartoon show that aired in January to March this year, things are quite different. When it comes to idol concerts in Japan, most of the concertgoers sort of do the calls and responses to the songs and there are even those who the glow stick dance known as the Otagei which some man already filed a lawsuit and there was a news like that. I don't know if that man would be called out by the other nerds for that lawsuit. Not to mention that the lawsuit was dismissed by the court at the time.
The protagonist of that show by the name of Eripiyo, is leading the normal life until she discovers the minor idol group and gets herself heavily obsessed with the least popular member that she eventually overspends money on the idol-related merchandises like buying tons of copies of that idol's merchandises. I don't know if other nerds had done the same thing or not like buying tons of copies or not but then, there's another news I knew of in the past in which some nerd bought tons of copies of the same CD as a way to support some idol which is obviously stupid, waste of money and resources, the home hoarding issue and an act of unfairness. How's this unfair? Well, from my assumption, the other fans may want to buy the same CD but of course, they'll buy ONE copy for themselves to listen to.
Today, there are other ways to enjoy the music as technology evolves like listening to music online legally through various music services like Spotify, Beatcamp, etc.

A new law in Mexico

I don't know if this is something controversial or not but it already became law before anyone from outside Mexico found out about it. Unfortunately, it seemed that there were tons of misunderstandings and misinformation about some new law that caused some sort of false alarms.
In reality, it's okay to install Linux on your computer, change the computer components like the hard drive for instance as well as to install the custom ROM on your Android. According to the YouTube comments, there are actually some corrections like the new law prohibits the ISPs from monitoring your activities unless you're suspected of doing something illlegal and the fact that you're allowed to modify the device if you're the owner of it unless the modification opens doors to something illegal like removing DRM for instance. It's obviously illegal to circumvent the DRM ptotections of the software or hardware in the first place.
Sideloading of Android apps isn't prohibited by that new law in Mexico so the businesses don't need to worry about that. What the law prohibits is the illegal stuff like the kind of modification that opens doors to such illegal stuff in the first place. One notorious example involves the illegal sales of devices containing Kodi with illegally pre-bundled stuffs. It's basically one definition of piracy in my opinion. Another thing to note is that flashing custom roms on an Android phone with locked bootloader is sort of illegal as it is considered circumventing DRM protections although not all Android phones come with that feature. Why would the manufacturers come up with such protections for the Android phones in the first place?
The video by Switched To Linux has like tons of things to mention about but even then, the information in the video is partially accurate. Not to mention that the original articles are in Spanish which the tech YouTubers put in the links in the video description.
In the end, it's STILL okay to for anyone in Mexico use Linux on the computer. Plus, open-source stuff like Linux has been welcome by various tech companies like Microsoft and some of Microsoft apps were already open-sourced that they can be used in Linux besides Windows and Mac.

Goodbye Volcano High Controversy Part Two

Edit: I forgot to mention here that none of the parts from whatever model are used for other models as I wouldn't do something like that. Instead, many parts of some models are disabled using MMEffect.

Part two has the MMD animation video I did of the redone Goodbye Volcano High Reveal Trailer which I sort of posted on my Twitter account. Unfortunately, it is missing some parts the original trailer has as well as one more character. What's not replicated so far:
  1. The scene where the protagonist is standing with the door behind them: I've no idea where it takes place at as it looks too zoomed in, focusing on the protagonist character so it couldn't be replicated.
  2. The street at night scene with the female character saying something to the protagonist: Nobody knows what she is saying and there has to be a MMD model of the street scene or some sort.
  3. The performance scene: I've no idea where it takes place at and I don't think I can replicate it faithfully. Instead, I can try to animate that scene where the protagonist is seen DJing or some sort.
  4. The graduation scene.
MMD models of the alcoholic drinks will NOT be in the main scene which is the night scene where all the main characters surround the campfire as I bet that it's an inappropriate idea for me. Also, sometime in the video I posted on Twitter has the stage showing part taking place outside the school. What I mean by that is, before the match in Blazblue series starts, the stage is being shown before the camera focuses on the area where two fighters face each other. However, this is where things may be different after the stage is shown where the gameplay portion may or may not be the same. If the gameplay is sports festival-based, the camera focuses on the characters standing before the starting line for dash-type/obstacle course. If the gameplay is 2D/3D action-based, the camera focuses on the area the main character is on and follows their perspective. Or if the gameplay is fighting/puzzle based, the camera focuses on the area where two characters face each other but for competitive puzzle, that's not necessarily the case. A sports festival or competitive puzzle is something I can go for according to my take of the open-source idea regarding the gameplay of Goodbye Volcano High redo.
The Story Mode of the redo is said to be taking place in the original virtual world of Goodbye Volcano High with stages based on the original scenes. This is where the actual battle between victims and the characters originally depicted in the game with the victims being human characters dragged by some culprit to the virtual world. The other modes will be Dream-Match-like and include scenes of the reconstructed virtual world as bonus scenes/stages.

Windows 12 Lite Controversy Part Two

Well, I made a tweet to Michael MJD and Billy Coore and MJD put his plan in motion in making a video about Windows 12 Lite with my tweet being used in it. From the same online store where Windows 12 Lite could be bought, there's even the computer that will be pre-loaded with multiple OSes including Windows 12 Lite as well as the phone with such a political reference I won't dare to mention here. The site itself is more or less a scam and so is the Windows 12 Lite website itself although the product name on the latter website was changed to WiinZoom 12 Lite/+Lite but other than the description change, the screenshots weren't changed whatsoever.

Windows 12 - The Bizarre OS You've Never Heard Of by Michael MJD

I guess that Microsoft found out about this or maybe the backlash might or might not have happened that the person who did this counterfeit Windows 12 stuff must have changed the website description of it. I guess that if the number of modification to Linux Lite was small when compared to original state of Linux Lite when you try to compare the package lists of the two as well as the themes, then, I assume that that may seem like a disappointing way to make an OS based on Linux Lite. Plus, it may seem risky for Michael MJD to make the ISO image of Windows 12 Lite available for free download as Microsoft will find out about it just like they found out about the Ninjutsu OS.

Ninjutsu OS Controversy

It's really unbelievable that someone would come up with the modified Windows OS that offers tons of penetration tools that makes it the answer to Kali Linux. Penetration Tools being that OS' specialization is what causes a bigger controversy in addition to the other tools and software that are bundled with it including the 3rd-party media players, 3rd-party web browsers, terminal software and the list goes on. I don't condone the penetration actions or tools as anyone can use them for whatever nefarious purposes but there's a weird reason on why the customized OS was issued the DMCA.
The claimed problem is that the OS has a couple of 3rd-party tools that add/remove Windows features with pre-removal of Windows features as part of privacy protection being copyright violation.

From what I saw of the video, there happens to be a post-startup script that disables various services, removes various apps and features as well as installs various features like Hyper-V, WSL, etc. The top part may look like RocketDock or some sort containing tons of penetration tools but again, I do not condone penetration stuff when it comes to cyber-security that the modified Windows OS itself is more questionable than the removal of Windows features as part of the script.
Another real questionable thing is the unofficial GUI skin as well as the unofficial patch that enables that opportunity as indicated by the different top-right buttons and different scroll bar. You can try switching to Tablet Mode for awhile but of course, the scroll bar and the symbols for the buttons at the top-right of the window are not changed whatsoever. Even the icons are customized as well so I guess that these unofficial customizations should make Microsoft concerned.
The links were already taken down and I think that it's already better that someone should make a better customization than this without all the stupid bloat and penetration tools. Sure, having a script like this to automate such operation post-startup is kind of unofficial but to claim that removing certain Windows features being copyright violation is ridiculous.

Goodbye Volcano High Controversy

As part of the event where the upcoming Playstation 5 games were revealed, this one's a controversial one as its writer had written the extremely disturbing Harry Potter and Pokemon materials involving underaged characters from two franchises. That was her past work but it's not the first time I discovered a controversy like that. A few previous ones included the M1 Fringe Festival 2017 which was like an adult festival and it was called out for disguising something disturbing as art as well as the cancelled Steam game, R*** Day, that was supposed to be published by Arcane City Game Studios. For that Steam game that was cancelled, it was kind of victorious for those who came up with the petition as if the Nu***u console is the only platform left for it as someone from that publishing studio stated that he liked something disturbing I can't mention here from his interview.
The writer, Kate Gray, was recently called out for her past work and her recent involvement in the development of Goodbye Volcano High for Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and PC like it's a cancel culture for people. You can give her a second chance but it's too bad that she blew it with the weirder character concept used in the game she works on. A family-friendly content she works on should be finer enough, damn it! That way, she's keeping a low profile but I suppose this is not quite the point for me.
When the trailer video was posted, it had tons of dislikes probably due to the character concept more than the writer herself. Even the name of the fictional high school/academy seems stupid for me although I can let the same name of the fictional high school from the movie, Volcano High, off since that live-action movie is about the martial arts stuff AND it has human characters.

Redo ideas

The story will be redone from scratch and in summary, it's about you battling your way through the weird fictional school in an unknown world you were dragged in and then dealing with the culprit if  you want to return home. The gameplay idea is up to you like it's an open-source idea I can come up with for you, be it an action game, puzzle game, fighting game or even a sports day game like River City Super Sports. In my case, it's going to be a puzzle game kind of an idea since it focuses on the native human characters' perspective with the opponent side being the game's characters' side. It may seem tough but the Spriters Resource website is the only place to take the assets of this game from for the opponent side although I have concerns about being called out for redoing shit like it's a fabrication.
Currently, I'm redoing the game trailer via the MMD animation consisting of mostly the models and accessories taken from various websites as well as to put in alternate music if I want to but story-wise, this is taking place in a reconstructed post-battle digital world where characters can do whatever good things they want like it's a virtual park to begin with. Unbeknownst to the culprit, the reconstruction of the fictional virtual world kicks in after you and other victims return home with the administrators formatting and reconstructing the virtual world after one of the victims calls them for the investigation.
Consider this all a prototype story and idea as the actual developers, Ko_OP, are still developing Goodbye Volcano High that will be released next year. It will also be released on other consoles after the timed exclusivity of Playstation 4 and 5 releases.

Optie Animation's Mope Mope video - "Not made for kids" option reinstated

In June 2, the video was set to "Not made for kids" as if that option was restored after news about the video being falsely set to "Made for kids" by YouTube occurred. Since that false choice made by YouTube last month, the kids were like exposed to such a video like Mope Mope by Optie Animation which is inappropriate for them in the first place according to the official video description. By falsely setting that video to "Made for kids", they sort of dragged Optie into the trouble he didn't intend to land on. The trouble that would affect his YouTube channel for challenging the COPPA law when the video DIDN'T.
Well, the controversy was more or less solved like there's not much to say about in the second part of the blog article about that controversy. The video itself was quite traumatic to children, people can assure of you and the controversy was there for 2 weeks before it was solved.

Optie Animation's Mope Mope video falsely set to "Made for Kids" by YouTube

What the hell? One of Optie's mature music videos was falsely set to "Made for Kids" because of the visual appeal of the first half? Man, talk about the greedy game of discipline and strictness where the videos are mis-set depending on the content which can be a disaster on the machine learning part. The videos of the family-friendly games are nothing to worry about even if they are set to "Made for Kids" by YouTube but in the case of the videos of the non-family-friendly games like the ones made for teenagers or even the mature ones which are for adults, that may be a different story.
The song, Mope Mope, had made the official appearance in the actual rhythm games on consoles, arcades and even mobile and their music video doesn't seem to be used whatsoever. However, in case of the music video on Optie Animation's official YouTube channel, that is what the kids should NOT view as it contains the scary portions at the second half. Other songs have more mature settings such as Marenol by LeaF, the same composer who composed Mope Mope. For that song, its music video is extremely inappropriate for children but it's not like YouTube will do something about that music video either.
As the music video of Mope Mope was falsely set to "Made for Kids" by YouTube, Optie had the plans to review the decision set by them and even LeaF was aware of the situation that happened a few days ago. Where's the research? HAD THOSE AT YOUTUBE EVEN VIEWED THE ENTIRE MUSIC VIDEO? OR DID THEY NOT READ OR REGARD THE VIDEO DESCRIPTION? To let children watch that music video is like giving them nightmares thanks to false disciplinary actions done on that target audience setting!
iMJaystation has been making video contents that are not inappropriate for children even though his target audience is children all along and he had been called out for challenging the updated YouTube COPPA policies but for Optie Animation's official YouTube channel, the target audience is like to be those who play rhythm games and especially the nerds if you will.

Skullgirls 2nd Encore Steam version - Controversial addition of S****Fox

Skullgirls is one great fighting game including its 2nd Encore edition upgrade and many versions of it were released in the past years but the recent addition of S****Fox as the background character in Skullgirls has angered the fans of the game and the genre, resulting in review-bombing the Steam version as well as the forum thread that would include the lawsuit or some sort. For that person, they're more or less an E-Sports player with an unusual persona route like he represents himself as a blue-and-white anthropomorphic fox. They're part of the fandom that has things about the animal characters with human personalities and characteristics. Such kinds of fictional characters already existed in the past as well as human-like characters based on the fictional monsters like those from the Pokemon franchise for instance. As an E-sports player involved in EVO events, they even overpowered other players in some tournaments. I guess that their character is one reason people frown upon or something and their addition in Skullgirls as the background character had caused some anger.
About the lawsuit someone came up with as stated in the forum thread, they even wanted Sega to be involved in suing Lab Zero Games over that character added in the game. I don't know if that is a reference to the S***c franchise which I don't give a native and faithful shit about but at least, S****Fox is a better character than that retarded and eccentric S***Chu comic franchise whose comic books and merchandises were like sold illegally without any official approval from both Sega and Nintendo. In fact, you can even come up with your own nickname/artist name that has the word S***c in it except that it has NOTHING TO DO with that S***c franchise. I've already seen some artists/DJs having that word in their professional alias. I even played some games that have that word in their game name.

Account update

Last year, I even came up with the prototype DJ logo to represent myself professionally and of course, I can't use my current nickname as the DJ alias even though it is a reference to the name of the spaceship from Taito's Darius series so I came up with the alias based on my real name instead just like how DJs did. However, the profile header is still incomplete until I can use the proper photo of myself at the DJ event venue. I had one like that on my Facebook account but I'm still looking for a different photo even today. Furthermore, I even removed gameplay videos of S***c games I played from my YouTube channel due to the revised COPPA YouTube policies which was COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY in the first place as those games are family-friendly to begin with. I shouldn't have taken such actions out of panic to my YouTube channel like that. One thing to take note is that not all games I made videos of on my channel are family-friendly. Certain games may seem inappropriate for children.

Conclusion

So, in this case, you can go in the modders' favor in which you can remove S****Fox from Skullgirls if you don't like that addition so you can play the game just like it was before the controversial additions occurred. You're in the right to be angry over this addition but a removal mod seems to be a better way than review-bombing the game itself.

iMJaystation's apologies are for naught?

I thought that we eventually moved on after actions were already taken against iMJaystation like channel demonetization and he apologized and took down various videos of his controversial stunts but it turned that he's still active on another YouTube channel which is Dream Team channel that is handled by him and his girlfriend. So, was this consequence evasion in which he would do the same controversial shit on that channel that the apology was all for naught? What in the world was he thinking? Couldn't YouTube do something to him for circumventing the consequences he was given after he was called out a few months ago? It's basically a challenge to this year's rules and consequences out of his bad attitude towards them.
OK, he may not be the only scum I had seen out there who tried to evade cyber-consequences like his main channel demonetized for instance. I had seen the others who tried to evade account blocks and terminations on social media in which they continued to talk useless shit to the ones who tried to call them out via sock-puppet accounts. Some of the sock-puppet accounts are like presenting them differently as if they pretend that they are someone else but the Dream Team channel is like a different example on how iMJaystation evaded the consequences thrown at him.
The actions taken against him by YouTube sort of delayed his plans to cause a big disaster towards many content creators by coming up with the bullshit that enabled him to challenge the revised YouTube COPPA policies. His target audience is likely to be children but his contents are obviously not appropriate for them and that problem he caused had already come back.
It's like he got scolded but he still continued doing such bullshit as if the major scolding wasn't anything for him. Also, due to the on-going pandemic, there have been lesser staffs working on the YouTube service than before and according to some official concerning warning, there may be technical mistakes on the machine learning stuff in which your videos may be falsely affected.

Zoom app review-bombing incident?

Apparently, there was a similar case of review-bombing for Zoom app probably due to the on-going pandemic that people have to be staying home at most of the time. Like the Dingtalk review-bombing incident, this is pretty much the same case although there were more controversies surrounding Zoom app/service due to privacy violation and lack of cyber-security that resulted in various online sessions such as meetings, classes, and other types of professional sessions compromised.
I don't know what sort of behavior people had in review-bombing things like that but in case of Zoom, it is actually reasonable due to genuine concerns. You can criticize a product/service in a professional manner but if you review-bomb it in such a childish and immature way, you don't want that. There's a rumor that the apps with an overall low review score will be booted off the app store and that act of review-bombing is like an act of like cyber-truancy or something unless your review is genuine.
According to 9to5 Google article about this, it seemed that Google had already taken actions against the negative reviews that were non-actual problems and Apple already froze the review section for the Zoom app. It's more or less an old news when I write a blog post about this as that article about this incident was posted two months ago. It's also a remaining news piece that should complete the previous blog article I wrote about the Zoom privacy and cyber-security controversy.
I don't know if the cyber-security is truly improved or not when it comes to Zoom app as of the present time.

Zoom privacy and security controversy

Cyber-security level-wise, this is the horrendous one coming out of Zoom, the video conferencing app that became popular recently! Like the Dingtalk app, Zoom is one of the video conferencing apps that is originally intended for business use but because of the on-going pandemic, it has gone beyond the original purpose in which even teachers and students will be using it.
From the tech news including the local news, there are tons of cyber-security problems involving Zoom and some of the companies are already concerned about it that they restrict the use of it. The same applies for some of the countries. You may want to avoid Zoom at all costs like it's your own policy but depending on where you live, you don't have a choice unless they're aware of the situation that you may be glad to use the alternative tool with them like Microsoft Teams, Bluejeans and even Cisco Webex but that sort of applies to employees as I don't know if students are able to switch to an alternative professional tool like those companies can. Not even Google Hangouts is allowed at Standard Chartered according to its  CEO due to the lack of encryption.
For data-collection, it's a SERIOUS ISSUE in which even the students' personal data, academic history and so on are at RISK. There's even a possibility of unauthorized surveillance of the students through that app that it's a violation of their rights and the law called, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Another violating action is the collection of device analytics data through Facebook SDK that Zoom was sued in US Federal Court as well as the data-mining of user names and email address to LinkedIn which doesn't make any sense for students as LinkedIn is like a business-related social media site.
Another serious problem is the Zoombombing, as done by cyber-criminals. It's a serious cyber-crime to intrude to whatever private conversation or private meeting and the invite or meeting numbers should be kept private in the first place. Another contribution to that cyber-crime is that the cyber-criminals can as well put in a bunch of disturbing materials and words after such intrusion. Even worse is the following cybersecurity vulnerabilities as discovered by security researchers:
  1. Mac users would be forced to join a Zoom call with their video camera activated without permission and the uninstallation cause a re-installation through a hidden web server. Zoom was aware of that and users were able to uninstall the app as the pre-install scripts were sort of abusive.
  2. Windows users' credentials could be exposed as well as some calls being routed to some servers in China. Again, Zoom was aware of this issue in which free users would not have data routed to China and paid subscribers will be able to choose whichever region that's appropriate for them
  3. The vulnerability from two years ago in which the attacker was able to hijack shared screens, spoof messages from users or even remove attendees which is kind of nasty. I don't know what kind of cyber-criminal with whatever issues will do this wicked shit. Is it out of mischievous-ness, jealousy or even some anger over whatever change that is unacceptable?
The next thing is that the company behind Zoom had admitted to falsely claiming that the conversations were end-to-end encrypted which was like a dishonest and misleading act. It's quite shady to fool the consumers about this and especially for the other features that consumers have been concerned of in other products.
There's one of the recent articles from Neowin stating that Zoom had recently added the newer security features such as the use of AES 256-Bit GCM encryption although the system-wide rollout for customers' accounts will occur at the end of next month. Meeting passwords and waiting rooms are turned on in version 5.0 by default and the hosts can even report a user to Zoom.
Until sufficient cyber-security features are implemented, the Zoom app is not quite safe to use as there were already cases of such incidents including the one in Singapore. As the app is quite popular despite the controversy, there are of course 1-starred reviews in the IOS and Android versions' app store review portions that probably mention the data collection thingy. Obviously, review-bombing it because of the on-going controversy is a bad idea in the first place and if the Zoom app is gone in the same way DingTalk was gone from the IOS app store, there will be another news of this action and IOS users won't be able to use obtain the app for essential purposes. The best solution is that Zoom should be implementing better cyber-security features in the next updates to solve those issues so that users can use the app safely after such implementation.

D4DJ franchise mixed impressions

Sometime ago before the existence of D4DJ franchise, there was a cartoon show about DJing and one of its trailer has a funny ending in which Agetarou mops the table on the same spot as if he's scratching the turntable and then he gets scolded by his father. Somehow, he even gets in serious trouble in one of the earlier episodes in which he blasts the entire music volume out of his bedroom like it's a club to him and his family has received tons of complaints from the neighbors that he gets grounded as a result.
For his first normal DJ mix, he accidentally pauses the music but eventually recovers after that. There's even an upcoming live-action movie that will air in Japan this year but how are you going to watch it due to the on-going pandemic? Popularity-wise, I do get the feeling that D4DJ is going to have even more momentum than the Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou franchise as many nerds will be appreciating it even more than Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou in my opinion. Perhaps, DJs will be interested in both franchises although the D4DJ game is still going backwards in terms of trying to replicating the actual DJing when compared to the upcoming Fuser by Harmonix which is still not perfect in full replication although it is made by them with mashups with mind and even some DJ sites mention Fuser as well.
For the game, D4DJ has the standard 1-Track Gameplay mode as well as the Nonstop-Mix mode in which one song transitions to the next without any silence, a similar kind of game mode other rhythm games have. The gameplay is going to get people skeptical for sure over difficult and complex gameplay like it combines elements from Beatmania IIDX and Sound Voltex with turntable scratch notes and Filter Crossfader. Like Bang Dream Girls Band Party, D4DJ Groovy Mix will have tons of arranged licensed tracks although the song list of licensed tracks seems questionable even to me. Why the songs from those classic arcade shooter games? It doesn't make any sense! Have you ever seen a DJ playing such songs from those games in the DJ venue?
Then comes the original music and the concept of DJ Units. Each unit consists of 4 DJs with one of them being on the booth and the whole unit singing and dancing like an idol unit or some sort. Normally, you'll be seeing one or two DJs on the booth area and most of the DJs are mixing as individuals or duos even if they're part of the bigger group. However, this is another idol-themed franchise mixed with something different this time and it may be a popular reason on why many of the nerds discover and support the hell out of it.
In the present time, D4DJ Groovy Mix is already in Beta stage on mobile with the release date being sometime in Autumn. By then, with tons of licensed and original tracks they're working on, it's going to take tons of time.

DingTalk app review-bombing incident

Due to the on-going virus outbreak, many employees will have to work from home with students having to study from home as well in which school resort to having online classes. Unfortunately, many students weren't happy with the fact that they had to go for online classes after the Lunar New Year holidays ended. There was a rumor that review-bombing the app with tons of 1-starred reviews would cause Apple to take down the app from the App Store, so the students found a way to fulfill that rumor although the Android version is still intact. Plus, not all students have a mobile device or something to begin with but that's not the point.
Some problems the Dingtalk app involve the collection of personal data or some sort according to some other tech site I discovered. I don't think Softpedia mentions that for sure. Another problem is how serious the situation regarding the virus outbreak is even today as well as other problems the students encountered when using the app.
Because the app was taken down from the IOS App Store, the company came up with the apology video, begging users to rate the app a 5/5. Also, the removal of the app would get the employees using it concerned since it is an enterprise app in the first place, not some educational app. If not for those problems I mentioned above, the app itself could be great or even excellent for anyone to use for work.
Obviously, review-bombing a product for immature reasons is one-way to get yourself investigated like some autistic and immature individual who did that to AI: The Somnium Files but for this case involving DingTalk app, the actions are outright questionable.

The Road to Playstation 5 Live Stream

Boy, when I saw this live stream, it looked like some kind of school lecture with the presentation shown on the screen as if the live stream took place in the Lecture Theater room in whatever tertiary school like polytechnic, university, you name it. The details about the Playstation 5 from the presentation were too technical but I was still able to understand stuffs like the PCIe, SSDs, RDNR2, AMD Zen 2 CPU, 3D audio, etc. Some parts of the system specs are a bit lower in value when compared to the hardware specs of Xbox Series X so it looks like the Xbox Series X is more powerful than the Playstation 5. Before the hardware specs reveal began, the presenter eventually talked about how Sony had three principles when it comes to Playstation 4 and Playstation 5. Remember, the whole presentation was suited for developers although it was originally planned to be a GDC presentation. Speaking of GDC, large events were already cancelled and game and tech companies were already planning for online alternatives due to the on-going virus outbreak. Even worse is that there may or may not be product delays because of that. Not to mention that most of the public places were already closed in the western regions. However, there's still hope when it comes to obtaining new games like digital-copies for instance.
Why would they organize the live stream that was suited for developers in the first place? Well, it cannot be helped that the GDC was cancelled and most of the professional game developers are already working from home although not all countries are in Lock-Down mode as we speak and new cases are coming in daily. For gamers, the presentation might seem boring to them that they would wind up falling asleep or some sort and they expected the actual hardware and gameplay reveal instead of all the technical stuffs.
Like Xbox Series X, Playstation 5 will have the optical-disc drive for physical copies of games with the SSDs to have lesser load times and things should look instantaneous. Games that are not AAA-level will be too obvious that they load quite quickly but for patches, it's said to be something like incremental patching or something thanks to SSDs like there's no seeking whatsoever. Unfortunately, the selected Playstation 4 games will be backwards compatible with Playstation 5 and it may disappoint those who expected full backwards compatibility when compared to what Xbox Series X has.
Even with 850GB/1TB of SSD, certain AAA-games are going to take a WHOLE LOT of GBs like around tens to even hundreds of GBs so it looks like you can fit a few AAA-games on that storage. Also, we still have yet to see what the actual hardware of Playstation 5 is like as well as the gameplay of PS5 games in action via a trailer or some sort in the future.
