Microsoft Recall controversy

If being desperate enough to force users to build trust between them and the company is what Microsoft and various game and tech companies do recently, it's about injecting whatever irrelevant stuff users don't give a damn about with the earlier example being the pre-bundling of Candy Crush Saga which is the kind of the game with no end to it with endless level progression path and further levels being extremely tedious for non-paying players and that ruins the purpose of fun and challenge to begin with. The biggest matter of the recent time has to be Microsoft Recall for Copilot+ PCs. It is notorious for being a big security and privacy issue but remember, it applies to Copilot+ PCs that there's no need to panic.

There are open-source alternatives to Recall but I don't know if even they can be trusted or not despite the fact that they would address some of the issues the actual Recall had initially. Even if Microsoft backtracked and addressed some issues from the severe backlash, the damage to the trust was already done with users already threatening to switch to Linux which is fear-mongering in my opinion. In fact, you're already better off without open-source Recall clones if that's the case when switching to Mac or Linux.

The real concern about Microsoft Recall was that it could be a perfect gift for cyber criminals, control freaks and domestic abusers. In the case of the latter, there could be concerns of victims being forced to re-enable Recall feature. Another problem is that the feature takes screenshots every time, wasting tons of disk space like it's a home surveillance camera.

If parental controls and home surveillance cameras are not enough, what else do you want? Also, if only there's a child account for the children linked to their parents' for the game consoles, PCs and mobile devices in which certain features like credit card/debit card and digital wallet features are not available. Lastly, if the child uses their personal account on their device, not their parent's, for gaming, that's fine.

Recently, Microsoft had delayed the Recall feature and the Copilot+ PCs will come out without it. Another piece of good news is that the said feature will be disabled by default but you have the option to enable it or keep it disabled in the OOBE. But still, a new feature that decreases the security level is already unacceptable. I wonder what kind of weird idiot would be excited for and protective of something like that.

Wubuntu controversy

When someone investigated the security issue in which those who bought the "activation key" for Wubuntu OS got their private information stored in the database, the developers of this OS had the audacity to alter some piece of information along with some writing that called the investigator an idiot and lamer or some sort. It wasn't a professional way to react and but it seems that the privacy violation stuff wasn't the only issue that sparked controversy. Other issue included the possible trademark and copyright infringement on the Windows 12 Lite level with icons, wallpapers and other assets taken from Windows OSes.

Wubuntu OS is part of the LinuxFX line of Linux OSes and recently, many content creators made their videos of it, demonstrating what it looks like for sure and deciding that it's not recommended for anyone to try out the OS. Tech enthusiasts already know what Linux looks like no matter how much disguise it can have. Obvious indications may include:

• The flow of the startup and shutdown process of a Linux OS
• Boot screen flow and asset positioning
• Login screen and various applications
• WINE for running Windows applications
• Additional processes related to WINE can be seen on screen

I guess that it's pretty much the same as disguising whatever Windows OS as the other through transformation tools and whatnot but in Wubuntu's case, it can be comparable to Windows 12 Lite in terms of a controversial Linux OS that deserves to be found out by Microsoft. This one looks like it will be found out by both Microsoft and Canonical for unauthorized use of Ubuntu branding and Windows related assets but the real red flag in my eyes has to do with the data collection stuff and to pay for "additional features".

Windows 11 reveal event from June

About two months ago, the new successor to Windows 10 was revealed by Microsoft with new features although it has the UI taken from the cancelled Windows 10X. There were ups and downs for that event when I tuned in to it online on Twitter and I made a couple of tweets about it.

• Amazon App Store: Currently, there's the Your Phone app on Windows 10 which supports Samsung-branded Android devices for various features. The downside to this introduction is the usage of Amazon App Store as opposed to Google Play. Indeed, certain Amazon smart devices cannot be trusted over privacy issues and there's no knowing if even Amazon App Store can be trusted or not. Using Amazon App Store, you'll be able to install Android and use apps on Windows 11. The good news is that Android apps can be sideloaded.
  
• Xbox gaming integration: As part of the new Microsoft Store, the Xbox-related games will be in the list that you can play on Windows 11. The inconvenient thing from the event was the audacity to mention, "It just works". Sure, Fallout 76 was a disaster but recently, there happens to be new games coming in from ID Software.
• New Microsoft Teams experience
• Steam and Epic Games Store games on Microsoft Store: For now, the article from Softpedia may remain like an announcement-level as I don't know if Steam and EGS games will be part of the Microsoft Store or not.
• UI Changes: The entirely of the UI is based on Windows 10X's but with many changes. The taskbar buttons are moved to the center by default but you can configure position for them to retain the traditional positioning.
• System Requirements: Ever since the Windows Vista days, the system requirements looked harsh with 1GB of RAM and above for the sake of some of the cool looking features such as the Aero transparency for the UI and the new UI animations that are still here today. There's also the 3D window switching feature with Windows+Tab key but that was changed in Windows 8 onwards. Speaking of Windows 8, some CPU features are needed if you want to use it so CPUs without them are out of luck for that. In case of the upcoming Windows 11, its system requirements are a little bit harsher than before with the requirement of 4GB RAM, TPM 2.0 chip, a 64-Bit CPU, HD display, DirectX 12 support for video cards and 64GB of storage.
• OS Post-Install: The annoying thing for Home Edition users is that the internet connection is needed to complete the setup. I'm not sure if the workaround is there or not in case you want to use the local account.

Windows 11 will be coming out sometime in October.

Windows 12 Lite Controversy Part 4

Well, it seems that we get one more update regarding the Windows 12 Lite scam. Last month, Michael MJD managed to get a modified copy of Linux Lite 4.8 rebranded as Windows 12 Lite. The previous video by him involved the unmodified form of Linux Lite 4.8 and suffice to say, the modified form he got for the latest video isn't that much modified when compared to many other Linux derivatives with UI differences, complete branding differences in which all traces of the original names are replaced when it comes to making your own Linux derivative as well as other things that make it different than say, Debian or Ubuntu.

The Windows 12 Lite website is still ugly looking like it's done by a teen in the 90s and the online store where you can buy that OS is still shady as ever. It seems that a certain someone has been behind all this shadiness starting from Windows 12 Lite OS, its own site to the online store. The same store sells other stuffs like some smartphone that contained the previous owner's personal data or something. The description in that Windows 12 Lite website has never been professional looking to say the least like it has been false-advertising.

Even the optical discs as seen in that online store are not spared from poor decoration and the smartphones listed in it, STILL HAVE the ITCHIEST GUTS TO BRING UP something political in the item name. I won't mention those item names here but you do get the point from the latest video from Michael MJD.

Windows 12 Is Still Around and Is Wackier Than Ever by Michael MJD

Why can't Microsoft or the authors of Linux Lite and/or Ubuntu do something to the ones behind Windows 12 Lite like it's beyond me? Oh, about the individual behind that Windows 12 Lite, he was spoilt enough to call the users idiot for not using Windows 12 Lite which was something he thought to be more secure than Windows 10. Also, when he was called out, he lashed out at the others in such every immature way possible, telling them to grow up, research and other things. So, the more you call him out, the more he lashes at you so it's best that Microsoft and/or the Linux Lite authors take legal actions against him instead because his actions are trademark infringement and violation of GPL since there's no source code repository of this OS you can find on the web.

You know, I'm already more interested in Librem 5's PureOS, Mobian, Ubuntu Web Remix, eXternOS and even other Linux OSes that use Phosh shell, the GNOME UI for Linux mobile phones, than this scummy and illegal Linux derivative passed off as a new Windows OS.

Windows 12 Lite Controversy Part Three

Sometime after Michael MJD posted a part two video of Windows 12 Lite, he eventually got a burned DVD-RW copy of that fraudulent operating system that was sent to him. It seemed that he wasn't the only one who purchased it online from the online store that seemed fraudulent. Apparently, someone else managed to get a copy of the Windows 12 Lite DVD disc that was similarly seen in the Reddit post and made an ISO image out of that disc so that the ISO image would be burned to the DVD-RW disc. Of course, as the online store seemed fraudulent, a better bet would be to use the burner credit card which is like a decoy credit card you can surrender to as who knows what will those cyber-criminals behind that online store will do to your actual credit card if you enter its information there for your online purchase.

Despite the site change or whatnot, that illegal sale of Windows 12 Lite is still there. Needless to say, the copy Michael MJD had turned out to be the unmodified form of Linux Lite 4.8. You could have gotten Linux Lite 4.8 easily from its official site for free instead!

Well, it's about several months wasted in finding out what Windows 12 Lite is like on the inside. I guess that some negative attention attraction might be the cause of that time wastage.

And to the one who made a video of himself installing Windows 12 Lite and claiming that it's the best OS, that defense and shilling should be sickening to us as it may seem delusional.

Windows 12 Lite Controversy Part Two

Well, I made a tweet to Michael MJD and Billy Coore and MJD put his plan in motion in making a video about Windows 12 Lite with my tweet being used in it. From the same online store where Windows 12 Lite could be bought, there's even the computer that will be pre-loaded with multiple OSes including Windows 12 Lite as well as the phone with such a political reference I won't dare to mention here. The site itself is more or less a scam and so is the Windows 12 Lite website itself although the product name on the latter website was changed to WiinZoom 12 Lite/+Lite but other than the description change, the screenshots weren't changed whatsoever.

Windows 12 - The Bizarre OS You've Never Heard Of by Michael MJD

I guess that Microsoft found out about this or maybe the backlash might or might not have happened that the person who did this counterfeit Windows 12 stuff must have changed the website description of it. I guess that if the number of modification to Linux Lite was small when compared to original state of Linux Lite when you try to compare the package lists of the two as well as the themes, then, I assume that that may seem like a disappointing way to make an OS based on Linux Lite. Plus, it may seem risky for Michael MJD to make the ISO image of Windows 12 Lite available for free download as Microsoft will find out about it just like they found out about the Ninjutsu OS.

Ninjutsu OS Controversy

It's really unbelievable that someone would come up with the modified Windows OS that offers tons of penetration tools that makes it the answer to Kali Linux. Penetration Tools being that OS' specialization is what causes a bigger controversy in addition to the other tools and software that are bundled with it including the 3rd-party media players, 3rd-party web browsers, terminal software and the list goes on. I don't condone the penetration actions or tools as anyone can use them for whatever nefarious purposes but there's a weird reason on why the customized OS was issued the DMCA.
The claimed problem is that the OS has a couple of 3rd-party tools that add/remove Windows features with pre-removal of Windows features as part of privacy protection being copyright violation.

From what I saw of the video, there happens to be a post-startup script that disables various services, removes various apps and features as well as installs various features like Hyper-V, WSL, etc. The top part may look like RocketDock or some sort containing tons of penetration tools but again, I do not condone penetration stuff when it comes to cyber-security that the modified Windows OS itself is more questionable than the removal of Windows features as part of the script.

Another real questionable thing is the unofficial GUI skin as well as the unofficial patch that enables that opportunity as indicated by the different top-right buttons and different scroll bar. You can try switching to Tablet Mode for awhile but of course, the scroll bar and the symbols for the buttons at the top-right of the window are not changed whatsoever. Even the icons are customized as well so I guess that these unofficial customizations should make Microsoft concerned.
The links were already taken down and I think that it's already better that someone should make a better customization than this without all the stupid bloat and penetration tools. Sure, having a script like this to automate such operation post-startup is kind of unofficial but to claim that removing certain Windows features being copyright violation is ridiculous.

Windows 12 Lite (Fraudulent Linux OS?)

Whatever that OS is, it is fraudulent and based on Linux Lite. Not to mention that the screenshots from the official website are quite obvious that the OS is based on Linux Lite as not all things can be transformed to Windows that easily. Somebody must have taken a Linux OS, disguised it as Windows and then selling it as Windows 12 Lite which is illegal enough that Microsoft will find out. It's a shame that the only way to get Windows 12 Lite will be to buy it BUT you will be ripped off if you've bought a fraudulent garbage like this.
It was discovered by some visitor of the computer roadshow/fair that Windows 12 Lite DVDs were being sold there and there was even a photo of them with the obvious looking instructions. It's not the first time I discovered something illegal being shown at the computer roadshow. The last time I discovered from the local computer fair at Singapore Expo had the NES/Famicom clones shaped like NES Classic/Famicom Mini in action. How could they get away with selling those non-genuine gaming systems locally? Even the local shops should be guilty of that in my opinion as the NES/Famicom I played in my childhood were non-genuine whatsoever.
I don't know if you're going to show that photo to Microsoft as evidence or not but my imaginary concern is that a paid Linux OS disguised as Windows is something Soulja Boy can pretty much do and Windows 12 Lite is one illegal example. Whoever sells this must have ruined his future as the Windows related stuffs are more or less copyrighted material.
The first time I discovered this fraudluent garbage was from the Softpedia website but other tech news sites might have mentioned it by then. I even tweeted about this to Michael MJD and he found it funny but there's one technical thing to remember is that, in-place upgrades are not available from Windows to this Linux-based garbage. Not to mention that Wine is still inaccurate in supporting newer Windows apps but it's still being updated to support them as well as to make sure that they can be run in Linux properly. For Steam on Linux, it may be a different story.

Microsoft-hired contractors listening in through Xbox One Kinect, Cortana and Skype Translator

It appears that Microsoft isn't the only one involved in the recent privacy violation incident through the personal assistant service, like Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa, etc. Who knows the motive and reason behind this? Plus, you're going to disable Siri/Google Assistant on your mobile device over this situation, though?
To train the AI through data collection through various products like Cortana, Kinect and even Skype Translator engine seems to be a dangerous excuse or a lousy one. So, it looks like Microsoft might have lied or something that the Xbox One Kinect wouldn't collect data when the console was revealed at the time that the data collection thingy through Kinect resumed sometime later. I don't know if this may seem accurate or not but then again, who the hell uses Cortana on their computers and Xbox One anyway?
To disable Cortana completely from Windows 10 will be no easy feat even when there were feature changes in Windows 10 1903 update which separates Cortana and Search feature as well as the fact that Cortana will be on the Microsoft Store in the future. It may seem like an acceptable change but don't go asking us that don't we even use Cortana at all or something. The worse thing is, there's still lack of support for other unlisted countries but it shouldn't be difficult asking Cortana something in the same vein you ask Siri or Google Assistant which is obviously more popular.

Windows 10 1809 update - A bug that causes data to be removed upon updated

A bug or not, this is an act of development incompetence coming from Microsoft in which the latest major update to Windows 10 caused the personal data to be removed due to a bug. Microsoft was aware of that bug but it was a serious technical offense among users regardless of whichever edition of Windows 10, whether the OS is for home and personal use, work or even school use. Such kind of unexpected data removal is irreversible and who knows if you have time to find the technical culprit that did this to your data.
Backing up data has been an important policy and if things like this happen to you at anytime like the program you use does more than what you instruct it to do for instance, the consequential events are irreversible. I had a past time in which the cleanup program did more than what I instructed it to like it took out my data that was stored on my local account and that was like several years ago. Nowadays, I've been skeptical on what the same programs will do but obviously, the culprit is supposedly something else I don't know of.
Before I wrote this blog post about Windows 10 1809 update, I already did the data backup out of my concern that the same thing from my past may happen again once I update my current computer to this major update. Even the newest Windows Server was affected by this situation that the revised release would be needed and recently went GA stage this month.
In case of some editions of Windows 10 in which Windows Update's update method cannot be made Manual or even Disabled, this update would become a next update without your knowledge in which your computer would be patched even after a series of delays and then all of a sudden, your data was like gone after this patch. Who are you going to blame for this incident, huh? Do you go after a specific individual or group or even Microsoft for that? Also, to make false suspicions that someone from your house had tempered with your stuff EVEN THOUGH NOBODY DID THAT over this update was going to be plain stupid in my opinion and to install the goddamn security camera over the area your computer is situated in is another stupid thing I can imagine of.
As of this time, I'm still at 1803 but things are expected to change in the future provided that future updates DON'T mess things up. What about those saying that there was no such incident as this as if this whole thing is fake news to them? Well, just ignore them. It's like they're trying to deny the serious technical incidents that already happened out of their ignorant defenses. Even the official explanations regarding this incident can be found in Microsoft website as evidences.
Oh, the hybrid synchronization between your devices and the cloud service doesn't fully count as a regular backup to me as indicated from my past time that once I initiated the cleanup, the program did more than what I instructed that even my data was removed. Perhaps, removing the Windows Temp files caused that kind of shit to happen or something. And when that happened, data stored on the folder that is being synchronized to the cloud storage would be gone from both my devices and the cloud service. The only backup left would be on the other computer involved in the same synchronization as well but how do you restore the data from that computer? Firstly, that computer must be completely offline so that no synchronization will happen and then you copy the same data from there to the computer whose same data was removed. Then, you synchronize the data stored on the affected computer again to the cloud. So, if you have Dropbox on both computers, you essentially have the same data on them and the cloud storage but if something like that incident removed the data stored on one of the computers, the same data would be gone from the cloud storage. The other computer still had that data by then but if you make it online with Dropbox active, that same data will be gone from it as well.
If you do have data stored on the other drive in which your account folders would be there as the default location and something like this incident happened, chances were, the data on the main drive where the OS is stored would be gone or something according to some description involving Known Folder Redirection.
As of this present time, the 1809 update was re-released that it may be safe to get and move on. The overall lesson is that, when technical incidents like the Windows 10 1809 update's removal of user data happened, you cannot anyhow put the blame and take disciplinary actions without knowing the culprit behind them.

General Data Protection Regulation in Europe to be effective this Friday

A new regulation in which every company has to comply will be effective this Friday and it's a good news for privacy advocates. It doesn't matter where we live but we already know this from emails, news and other sources like mail subscription where we receive emails posted by the companies on regular basis like every week or something for instance and there was one time where companies we've email-subscribed to would inform us of this upcoming regulation.
To continue receiving such news through email like that from companies, it is obvious that we need to opt in to do so.
Microsoft on the other hand has extended the compliance to users around the globe in addition to users in Europe as they had done tons of wrong things in the past regarding privacy violation like the ones done with Windows 10 which caused a bunch of lawsuits to be thrown at them for instance. By extending the compliance, Microsoft has another regulation to comply which is Data Subject Rights which include what data to collect, to correct that data, to delete it and even take it to somewhere else.
Even Apple will comply with this new regulation which is a good one for instance as they had established a website called Data Privacy Website where you can see, download and delete the data that is stored on the server. The opportunity will be extended to the rest of the globe although the opportunity is already available to users in Europe at this moment.
Perhaps, it's best to respect the privacy of the users from local and foreign countries and there are already scenarios that even cyber-criminals violate users' privacy regarding of where the users live. This is something people have to be aware of.

Windows 10 Spring Creators Update

I admit that I have been recently purifying the shit out of eXtern OS Beta 1 as the data collection bullshit is equal to or worse than the one in Windows 10 but hope is not lost if you want privacy back. There are already ways to remove that bullshit while retaining the good parts. For the upcoming Spring Creators Update of Windows 10, you get more options than before in the Privacy section of Settings app as well as the updated Privacy Dashboard for your Microsoft account. Also, you're able to remove the data collected by Microsoft which is a good obedience.
The Spring Creators Update should include security fixes to the vulnerabilities the tech news already talked about tons of times ever since the Fall Creators Update which disabled the SMB1 component by default. It was a serious case of cyber-security breach that took place last year and we should remain vigilant on future cyber-security threats.

Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

This one's quite suited for enterprise use like designing and rendering 3DCGIs for CADs, games, 3D animation and the list goes on as rendering a whole 3D animation stuff with so much professional detail is extremely time-consuming and it takes up so much computing resources. The same can go for rendering a video like for making movies and such but then, such kinds of intensive projects being done by the studios had been with the use of advanced computers and this edition is either unnecessary or optional enhancement.
Unless you're making something as intensive as the one stated above as an example, using this edition of Windows 10 for advanced gaming is a serious mockery among companies as it is extremely expensive. If you really want this edition that badly for your gaming computer, perhaps as an adult, you should plan things very carefully. If you're a pre-adult, it is way obvious that a standard computer should be enough.
A server-grade PC can act as a server or an advanced workstation but to find such a computer that advanced is going to be quite tough and you'll never find that kind of computer like that in the computer shops. Most of such computers are obviously for business use and the same can go for servers if you're going to buy one and besides, they're extremely expensive, even higher costs than the cost of gaming PCs you find in the shops.
This edition of Windows 10 has additional enhancements such as,

• Resilient File System
• Persistent Memory
• Faster File Sharing
• Expanded Hardware Support

This is quite useful for computers that use server-grade CPUs although you may end up using them as servers just because of those CPUs. In fact, there may as well be workstation edition of those CPUs so that they can fit those computers even better while keeping the client OS installed as intended.
The new edition of Windows 10 will be available as part of Fall Creators Update and what I previously knew about that update was that Powershell 2.0 would be obsolete in favor of newer version as well as SMB 1.0 which is what nobody should use for security safety.

Windows 10 S

Whether it's Chrome OS on Chromebooks or Windows 10 S for educational use, you're pretty much out of luck as they happen to contain the privacy violation stuff that cannot be disabled. You may as well study traditionally if you will and even then, your own electronics are obviously not allowed in schools. In tertiary schools like universities, it may be a different story.
Windows 10 S is said to allow apps from Windows Store to be opened whether it's a Modern UI app or a Win32 app. Problem is, anything outside of that won't be opened and the worse thing is that the computers using Windows 10 S are unlikely to be using ARM-based processors. Windows 10 computers and tablets with ARM-based processors using Windows 10 Mobile will soon open doors to using X86 apps although it can be a bigger disaster for Windows Phones as many of the traditional apps are not touch-friendly.
Citrix's Receiver is a bigger rescuing solution. It allows you to use X86 apps on Windows 10 Mobile, Surface Hub, Hololens, IOTs and even Windows 10 S devices. It is useful for tablets, Surface Hub, IOTs and of course Windows 10 S computers but for Windows 10 S computers, the only handy thing about this solution is that students can go to Chrome, Google search engine, Microsoft Office desktop version and other tools needed depending on the course taken. But still, Windows 10 Education Edition is a better bet than Windows 10 S when it comes to educational use in tertiary schools and policies like GPOs still have to be implemented as part of computer deployment for school use.
What about computer labs in elementary and middle schools then? Will they use Windows 10 S or what? I may be sure that edutainment software is NOT likely to be compatible with Windows 10 S so the Education edition is a BETTER CHOICE FOR THOSE COMPUTER LABS!
I'm sure that there are still IT technicians handling computer stuffs in schools regardless of the educational level of whatever school they're in like they handle the policies, student accounts, software for educational uses and even the edition of the OS for educational purpose. Hell, there's even the school network but depending on the school, either the student's computer gets it connected by the technicians or maybe it's a computer in the lab that is immobilized already set up by them.
Privacy protection-wise, you can choose to exclude the default Modern apps but the problem is that Command Prompt or Powershell WON'T BE SUPPORTED! It is good that way considering the fact it is an edition for educational use and prohibition of those tools is due to user misuse or some kind in which one specific stuff will deliver greater technical damage without the student's knowing. Not even Linux OSes obtained from the Windows Store will be supported as well as if they're too complicated or something.
Lastly, upgrades to Pro edition are reasonable in tertiary schools but there are already hopes and lessons in keeping students cautious on what to do and what not to do to the school computers. There are already better solutions for educational uses out there like using Chromebooks or perhaps using Windows 10 Education Edition. Even better about Windows 10 Education Edition is that it is based on Windows 10 Enterprise so that the IT Professionals in schools have full control. Hell, there's even the Pro Education Edition which removes Windows Store, Windows Spotlight and Cortana by default. At least you won't see any student making some stupid noise or nonsense to Cortana that way, otherwise, the main fault may go to the IT people who allow Cortana to be enabled.

Emulators banned from Xbox and Windows Stores

Without the policy like this Microsoft has come up with, there will be risks of lawsuits that can happen to that company by other game companies alike. In fact, there were already past lawsuits from Sony against those who made the Playstation emulators for Windows PC and Dreamcast but eventually, the formally sued ones worked on the same emulation stuffs for later generation Playstation consoles like PS2, PS3, PSP, PS Vita and the list goes on. Also, the emulators are said to be banned from IOS completely but I don't know if this is true or not and you still can see a bunch of them in the Android app stores.
While chaotic troubles are prevented this way, there's one problematic workaround, sideloading of UWP apps. Hopefully, there should be a policy against this that can be done in Group Policy but this is still a problem when it comes to non-business devices and especially Xbox One. Another workaround is the fact that there online emulators that can be played on the web browser.

Microsoft Comfort 4500 obtained

It was quite unfortunate that I'm starting to get a little bit inaccurate whell scrolling stuff and I still need to get used to the clicking mechanism not because the mouse is a little bit larger than the other computer mice I used for sure.
The situation prior to buying this mouse is that the current Microsoft-branded mouse I've been using is starting to get mechanical problems on the left-mouse button in which either the button would get released unintentionally while still actually holding it or perhaps, there wasn't any input response whatsoever communicated to the computer despite actually making clicks and I made a shame upon myself that the new mouse I bought had different minor mechanical problems as mentioned in the beginning except that the wheel isn't as problematic as the HP wireless mouse I had whose scrolling was still rough even if I recently cleaned it deep from dust without using water at all. I tried using wet handkerchief to clean the keyboard which was related to that mouse and I screwed it up the last time.
In fact, a gaming mouse could have been even larger over the amount of cool features I can say but this new mouse I bought is something I should get used to for years.

Microsoft employees file lawsuit against their company over PTSD after being forced to watch indecent content

As part of the online safety team, two employees were assigned to it to determine which content should be taken down or reported to the law enforcement. Such disgusting contents they were forced to watch caused them to develop the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD and the contents looked rather traumatic as if they had out-going nightmares of whatever they saw.
One thing Microsoft missed out was that the two employees were not briefed about the psychological impact of doing such jobs and denied any support. Instead, Microsoft came up with a Wellness Program in which should the employees be affected by such disturbing contents, they could have a break during work-time but that is not going to help since there's no support over psychological issues those two employees had as part of the company's Digital Crime Unit. Even the other team members of the online safety team were not provided the comprehensive mental health program. Such suggestions for the Wellness Program were not quite good enough that one of the two employees, Blauert, was scolded for playing too much video games during work-time. Even if those two employees were transffered to a new position, they still suffered the PTSD over time and I guess that after they were forced to watch the disturbing contents, it marked the beginning of the serious trouble and especially that they had to remain in that position for 1.5 years before they were allowed to transfer positions.
In the recent time like December last year, the two employees eventually filed a lawsuit against Microsoft over the PTSD and it looked like none of them returned to work as the psychological damage was too great that it would take a long time of recovery. Blauert, on the other hand, wished to return to work at Microsoft but I guess that he wasn't allowed to use the computer-type electronics until he had fully recovered enough to be fit for work again.
It was a painful damage caused to those two employees of the online safety team who worked at Microsoft and I guess that life and future threatening events for instance are what we should keep a lookout for. Various examples may include the contents of war, disaster, fear, guilt over whatever you've done, horror, helplessness or even maybe something violent like someone's being assaulted for instance. The suffering starts within a few months or maybe years later like what already happened to those two employees.
The entirety of this blog post may look off-topic but I do have another concern about the controversial local event that took place last week of this year. It will be talked about in the following blog post because I have a feeling that it may have damaged the reputation of one of the local ISPs, M1. I might be lucky that I'm a Singtel user and that I avoided the event without even knowing when it started but obviously, that event was notorious for having a bunch of adult performances. Do I want to end up like those two Microsoft employees by attending that bullshit event?
We don't allow such mature contents like those that traumatized those two employees in whatever events, workshops, briefings, or even the educational assignments.

Privacy Dashboard for Windows 10

At least the mistakes had been realized that we eventually came up with solutions to fix them but it depends on the kind of serious mistake that had been made. However, there were certain mistakes that had gone so viral and controversial could lead to a serious of investigation like the ones that landed Microsoft into serious trouble. What about certain companies in the US that have been notorious for continuous troubles they land themselves into perhaps, for violating users privacy on their accord for years, using the fossil fuel or any other source that heats up the climate temperature, for instance? Corruption-wise, they never realize the amount of trouble they have landed on like they have been ignoring it, thinking that consumers' concerns are whiny or something.
Eventually, after a long time Windows 10 was released like two years ago, it seems that Microsoft had been pressured into adding a privacy dashboard feature for that OS that allows a wider adjustment on what can be toggled on or off. Not to mention the presets that range from Basic to Full Telemetry levels. However, that feature will be part of the upcoming Creators Update of Windows 10 and the privacy features are said to be extended in Redstone 3 update. The data collected by Microsoft will not be used to target ads to you. One fact about Basic Telemetry Level is that it has been around ever since Windows NT 4.0 days as if Microsoft will need to assess the technical situation the consumers have encountered.
We definitely hope that Microsoft is doing the right thing this time with the upcoming Creators Update like they did the right thing for the Xbox One Kinect. Simply upgrading someone's computer to Windows 10 as a punishment is what only idiots do until the day Creators Update is released which is sometime in April this year. And if you do that to your child's computer or something regardless of whatever wrongdoing your child has done, I can assure that you will be scolded and disciplined at work for electronics property abuse and to privacy advocates, you will have lesser respect than before after having damaged your cyber-reputation as a parent.

Windows 10 Creators Update Live Stream

The Creators Update also known as Redstone 2 of Windows 10 may look like a future fascination where you can use Paint 3D Studio, do easier messaging with files to be sent to the messaging box as the attachment along with Beam, the interactive live stream feature for both Windows 10 computers and Xbox One.
Paint 3D Studio may give you the ability to turn 2D stuffs into 3D objects along with other stuffs imported from cameras, 3D scanning and so on. It may look like the entire interface may be suited for tablet users although the professional tools like Photoshop can still be done with stylus and other cool things like Surface Dail for any Windows 10 computer. Paint 3D Studio allows you to import and export objects between Sketchup, Minecraft and other tools suited for Paint 3D Studio. There's also a website where 3D objects to be used for Paint 3D Studio can be downloaded from. There's also the 3D scanner stuff that can be done with a Windows tablet or phone device. It may be less difficult than Autodesk 123D Catch where you can capture real-life objects and turn them into 3D ojects in such a complicated way due to the technology being too new at the time.
Beam, the interactive live stream program, well, there's nothing special about it other than the interactive buttons at the bottom where viewers can use those buttons to ask the streamer stuffs like advices, what to do and even to keep up during the match. There's also a button that asks the streamer to pay attention to the chat or the gameplay screen. So if you want spectation in live stream, you can enter something like that in the chat but the special thing is that you can also organize the tournaments for an existing game that's suited for them. Unfortunately, the flaw is that the tournaments can be organized at the consumer-level so the idea may make things kind of ass. They should be organized at the corporate-level like EVO, E-Sports and other kinds of competitions.
Another cool thing is the Surface Studio, the all-in-one Windows PC that is kind of like iMac but superseding due to the inclusion of touchscreen feature, Surface Dial and the stylus feature. Be warned, however, such advanced computers like Surface Pro i7 and Surface Studio are extremely expensive. Other updates include the mixed reality for Hololens where you can mix both virtual reality and augmented reality although I still find the Hololens kind of delusional as if you're talking to your dead friend whose soul has entered reality where communications between you and him can work but not anyone else. You can also tour on public places with Hololens although it looks kind of weird to see not all things animating. Perhaps, it uses Bing Maps technology but chances are, things are not happening in real time when you do the tour. You actually have to go out and get to that place yourself. It things are happening in real time as if the satellite monitors whichever place you want to have a simulated tour at using Hololens, something may go wrong when it comes to privacy.

Lastly, there are VR headsets for Windows 10 starting at $299 although I don't know if they make use of Hololens software or something.
The live stream obviously took place on the last day of the NextGen Climate texting assignment and needless to say, my progress for that wasn't that great. The others' assignments had made great progresses though. The assignment expired by the time the live stream ended.

Linux OS not blocked on Microsoft Store Signature PCs

It's a pure luck that Microsoft still remembers the Microsoft Loves Linux campaign in which they have implemented some Ubuntu elements in the later builds of Windows 10 with the Bash shell as well as to port some of their tools to Linux OSes recently. I can imagine and guess that you can use Powershell on Linux host machine to remotely deploy Windows machines but I may need additional ideas about using Powershell for Windows deployment.
The fault about Linux OS not supported on Lenovo signature PCs lies with Intel, new BIOS or perhaps the RAID-mode for SSDs. Having RAIDs turned on for SSDs or HDDs may probably mean redundancy so that if one drive goes down, the machine can still operate with the remaining drives although replacements are still necessary. Unfortunately, installing an OS on the RAID enabled drive can be challenging.
There is a fix available for those affected Lenovo PCs in the future as announced from Lenovo but still, the opportunity to use Linux besides Windows on the same computer may be a rare one unless you have some reason or maybe you're the big IT enthusiast like me in which I use Ubuntu and Windows on my same computer. In fact, if you bought one of those affected Lenovo PCs as the first or the replacement and want to use Linux on it, you may be out of luck and such complaints like this may make you look like a shameful whiner until the upcoming fix is on the way which may take place on the hardware level.
Many Mac and Windows PCs are able to run Linux OSes although I don't know if the Windows tablets are able to do the same thing as well. For various embedded devices like the Raspberry Pi 2, you should be able to run Windows 10 or some other OS on them.
Compared to bloatware that poses security problems in which people can write articles or complain about, this one makes such user reviews kind of stupid as seen in the screenshot from that Neowin article. Luckily, on Lenovo Yoga 900, you should still be able to install Linux OS on it although it is not officially supported  to run Linux.
Even if you hate something, giving it a 1/5 like that despite the fact it is not that terrible in your opinion may anger the others using it. Also, telling people to avoid something over some serious flaw you've encountered in the forum is asking for some stupid trouble you're going to land yourself into.
