Microsoft Movie Creator for Windows Phone and Windows 8

Both Windows Phone and Windows 8 are already struggling with the amount of good apps out there in comparison to IOS and Android which already have their own movie maker apps. Desktop apps like Windows Live Movie Maker and third-party ones don't count as we're talking about the Modern UI ones in which Windows Phone is heavily struggling with. What about the photo enhancement app for Windows Phone? I may assume that Windows 8 already has one with some third party apps which may be Photoshop Express or any other app that does the photo editing and enhancement as seen in the Windows App Store.
The worse thing is that there isn't any video editing app that isn't free entirely but this one surely arrives too late, leaving Windows Phone itself to be crippled due to lack of certain apps and games. Perhaps, it may be one of the on-going problems with Windows Phone as of today but we're not sure if the upcoming Windows 10 is going to cause additional good reasons to have more of those apps. As of Technical Preview days, nobody knows what the smartphone version of Windows 10 looks like.
There may be Themes for the videos in Movie Creator which may look like some sort of templates similar to the ones in third-party video editing programs and that feature is already part of Xbox One Upload Studio. I don't know if Playstation 4 has its own video editor app but editing a video like that on a home console is kind of awkward compared to using the portable touch screen devices for video editing which may have some ease. Perhaps, even the Playstation Vita should have its own video editor and photo enhancement apps as well as they can be comfortable in media editing thanks to the touch screen.

Windows for Internet of Things

This one may look like it's a different edition of Windows Embedded similar to what Windows Thin PC is. It is going to be based on Windows 8.1 with Windows Thin PC lagging behind but we don't know what is it going to be exactly based on. Will that be based on Windows Embedded maybe? For Windows IOT, it is likely to be available on various electronic appliances we use at home. We might have seen printers and cameras with their own OSes, the cars with on-board car control systems and other different OSes we don't know of technically. Nobody knows them but it's a safer bet that we use them that way lest someone tampers with the Windows or Android related OS in the fucking car remotely that the accident occurs all because of that. What if some bad guy tampers with the Windows or Android IOT related appliances and things all follow his commands then? Security questions aside, the Internet of Things are the embedded devices of the future for home use, personal use, and even business use everywhere. The Android IOT is already at the beginning with Android smartwatches, cameras, Set-Top Boxes, and even the unnecessary game consoles powered by Android which are not that great when we can already play most of the gesture-friendly Android games. We may expect the Wii U or PS Vita kind of combination when it comes to Android-powered game consoles but most of the Android games don't make use of such combination.
For Android Wears as part of IOT, there will be more of these coming out in the near future. The last thing is that Windows IOT is already powering up the Intel Galileo devices but it's under beta phase so it works on first-gen devices. No idea what the OS on action on these devices looks like but we have already seen the those devices.

Quad-Core 3G Windows 8.1 Tablet for $99

This was made with the collaboation with Microsoft and Intel and that will mean that it is using the Intel CPU inside this tablet and it was shown at Computex. Of course, they may be more of these ultra-low cost tablets done by the two companies as well. One of the companies, Kingsing from China is launching their own Windows 8.1 tablet for $99 with Quad-Core CPU and 3G. But unfortunately, 1GB of RAM is going to be a problem for this thing like we may recommended having 2GB of RAM no matter how simple looking the interface can be. The animations are everywhere and with Windows 8, there are newer features than the ones in Windows 7 but we can be sure that only one or two Modern apps on screen take up memory, not the others.

Windows 8.1 Update for Enterprise Jump Start

It was unfortunate that I missed the first day of the Jump Start that I may need to get the recorded videos of the Jump Start for compensation to learn the modules from Day 1. But fortunately, I had attended the Days 2 and 3 of the Jump Start. For this Jump Start, it includes the update to Windows 8.1 as we already know of with the second update that involves the classic Start Menu to be released in the future. But what I don't jump into is the freaking PowerShell stuffs that contain so much scripting. Parts of the scripts may do some command-line execution that may perform similar or different functions in making adjustments to the domain and ensuring that the clients are able to join the domain. When joining the domain, you can specify the organizational account to log in but this may take some luck for that to function properly as the hosts had the hard time troubleshooting that. Another downside was that ADFS is not an easy thing to use but it may be how you join to the workspace in Windows 8.1 as well as to get the business services and apps from the domain servers.
The next thing is the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure in which the Work Folders were shown. It acts like the private cloud version of Onedrive where you can synchronize your work data in that folder to the enterprise network. Of couse, there's already the new Microsoft Remote Desktop for IOS, Android and Windows and just like the other software that does the private cloud remote access, the new Remote Desktop surely does that although I don't know if RemoteFX is supported for the new Remote Desktop in my opinion and especially the fact that the Gen 2 VM software like VirtualBox doesn't support that.
Lastly, the Juimp Start might be long but to cut-off conflicts, it was split into three days to ensure that you get enough information without getting tired. Sure, I was tired like that in previous Jump Starts that I missed out various information but then, I somehow don't have time to revisit all the Jump Starts I attended.

Apple says that users have bought Android by mistake
Will there be a serious fan-war or something over these two platforms? So, what are the problems Android is having nowadays? The first thing is that Android OS may seem to be the target for the amount of malwares due to the apps from outside the Play Store in which the custom apps can be installed through Package Installation similar to the way you install in Linux. Android 4.3 is the first OS to start simplifying the interface visually and Android 4.4 is like the most recent one so comparison between IOS 7 and Android 4.4 is a strange thing. What about the Android 4.3 that was part of the comparison? Well, the thing is, Android 4.4 is already the recent one in the Android series OSes for both the phones and tablets but not all Android devices can be upgraded to the latest versions and that's the thing. Also, I can't guarantee if you are going to upgrade your Android device to the latest Android OS the non-official way.
But then, the encryption of the Google services is already at the beginning at the next level to improve the security but it's already taking companies like Google some time to finish implementing all the security improvement plans.

Bing being the default search engine in Mac OSX 10.10
What happens to the rivalry nowadays between Apple and Microsoft? And why the hate on Google by then? Is security issue the reason on why someone at Microsoft was bashing the hell out of Google? With this collaboration between Apple and Microsoft as friendlies instead of rivals, they've better do good this time with their Mac OSX 10.10 as well as the service encryption at higher levels that will protect their customers' rights and put some unsecured and pointless Google services to shame. Another promising thing is that Bing is receiving some momentum thanks to Mac OSX, Siri and Windows 8 but then, there shouldn't be a mockery of Windows 8 and 8.1 in the first place on stage during the event. The main problem for causing this mockery was on how heavily criticized Windows 8 was when released and some of the criticisms are still intact with Windows 8.1. The amount of Windows 8 users is probably decreasing as many users have upgraded to Windows 8.1 as if the mockery by Apple is kind of as inaccurate as a mistake. Have they included Windows 8.1 in the mockery as well? Hell, how about someone pretending to resume the Google bashing to see how this can anger the amount of Google users?

Windows 7 to be used on China government PCs instead of Windows 8

Perhaps security issue with Windows 8 is one of the reasons that it is banned from being used on government computers in China. The response from Microsoft came in after the announcement that the computers can be using Windows 7 instead. Of course, we don't know when will Microsoft fix those security issues for Windows 8 and 8.1 for god-damn real and especially that even the Windows Phone 8 series and Xbox One should have those similar patches as well. Not to mention the embedded edition of Windows 8 which I assume that the similar security issues are still there.

Microsoft Surface Pro 3

Bad news aside, this one's the newly announced product from Microsoft along with other products being announced as well such as Surface Mini. Surface Mini is like Microsoft's answer to the mini Android tablets as well as Ipad Mini. Surface Mini is likely to be making a comeback after some previous reports indicated that Surface Mini was cancelled as it was thought that it won't be a hit. It appears that Surface Mini will still be available sometime in the future despite the fact that it wasn't part of the recent product event from Microsoft.
Surface Pro 3 is like the big thing from Microsoft and it is as large as a normal laptop computer can be. It may look like a competitor to the laptop computers and other 3-in-1 portable computers as well running Windows 8 and 8.1. In addition, it will be sold under multiple plans from Microsoft ranging from 4GB of RAM to 8GB of RAM, i3 to i7 processor, 64GB to 512GB and $799 to $1949 respectively.
Other news involved Adobe's plans to make the interface even larger so that it can be touch friendly but then, such a plan like that can result in a visual disaster like what already happened with Office 2k13 desktop version. I don't know if the new touch-friendly Office version as shown by Microsoft the last time can be much better than that for the tablet devices. But you know what, there should be TRUE MODERN UI versions of those products, not the desktop ones unless you want to do something more advanced with all those legacy functionalities that are available for you.
Surface Pro 3 will be in August in 26 other countries.

Digital Style at Bugis Junction

Somewhere there at Bugis Junction, there was the IT Shop at Level 3 called, Digital Style. You get the various Android devices, IT accessories and even the stuffs similar to other shops such as Best Denki, Challenger, etc. The recent discovery was regarding Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 in addition to the recently released Samsung smartphones and tablets. From the information I got, it appeared that Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 is compatible with more but specific Android devices compared to Galaxy Gear 1. It is likely to be the requirements of the Android OS version or something and not all Android devices are compatible with that smartwatch. Plus, that smartwatch is compatible with non-Samsung devices.
For Microsoft series of computer mice, some of the mice were like strange moves to me and I had also discovered the Logitech external Touch Pad which is similar to the one for Mac except the fact that it is used for Windows besides Mac. Then, there were some external monitors where you can buy at the gaming section and besides those, I might have seen some cool-ass gaming keyboards and mice. One of the gaming keyboards has the LED display but then, certain of which are not external gaming keyboards and they surely come with multiple cables. Plus, the external monitors were like separate from gaming desktop computers.
The last discovery regarded the Microsoft side, there are additional Surface accessories as well as Windows 8 Pro and Office 365 in multiple editions. Where in the hell is the Office 2k13 itself in multiple editions? There are some differences though, Office 365 Home Premium has more features compared to Home and Student Edition which is a joke and the Home Premium Edition is less expensive than that edition to buy from. Personal Edition is for 1 device per device type and it is the least expensive.

Windows 8 Car concept

For the new Windows Car related OS, it will be making use of Windows Embedded 8 Standard OS for the cars to make use of the touchscreen features and various Windows 8 features such as the ability to pin the apps and tasks to the Start Screen. With the GPS, you can take a look at where you're going and where you plan to go by the respective paths to the destination but course, you have to know what you're doing as a driver and there should be a system that warns you of the incoming obstacles. There's also the media player feature in which the Windows 8 OS for the cars is going to get as well but it may or may not do anything better for you while you drive.

DirectX 12: Improvements for Xbox One

Until next year, the Xbox One is still inferior to its close rival, Playstation 4, in terms of resolution and game performance but with the arrival of DirectX 12, the console should be able to catch up although the graphics card is still using DirectX 11 technology. Maybe the graphics card should have the backported features of DirectX 12 for better performance and graphics but it doesn't seem to help out alot until the REAL DirectX 12 graphics card is out in the future. I don't know if you can replace the current graphics card with the DirectX 12 one for Xbox One but it is already possible for the desktop computers in the future. OK, you don't need to upgrade the graphics card hardware for Xbox One, Windows Phones and Windows tablets to get superior grahpics. You just need to do the software update of DirectX and that's it.
Downside though, only DirectX 12 games will make use of DirectX 12 graphics cards and the worse thing is that there will be heating issues for DirectX 11 graphics card. That is going to be a common downside and issue for devices using DirectX 11 graphics card and even Xbox One will be the included as the same victim too. Maybe next year, there should be a new Xbox One model with the DirectX 12 graphics card to fix this issue and get better performance.

Internet Explorer 11 Update

As part of the BUILD conference event, Microsoft is planning out Windows Phone 8.1, Internet Explorer 11 for Windows Phone 8.1 and the update to IE11 for existing multiple platforms. There will be similar features to Windows 8 for Windows Phone 8.1 such as the ability to pin websites to Start Screen, read better in Reading Mode as well as High Savings Mode which reduces the image quality and cuts data down by 60% to 80%.
The update of this web browser can detect the size of the webpage automatically but it seems that most of the websites do this on the web browsers on the computers. What about the ones for the tablet and mobile phones then? There's also the Enterprise Mode which is the Compatiblity Mode for displaying the pages in IE8 mode, just for the sake of compatibility and enterprises.

Busybody Google?

While we understand the situation that caused Microsoft to make a warrantless controversial search through the Hotmail service for Windows 8 leaks, it seemed that Google is either a busybody to Microsoft or a reasonless betrayal to their users. It's more like COMPLETE BULLSHIT TO THE CUSTOMERS due to the stupid and warrantless search through the Gmail services just for STUPID ADS!
OK, well, are we gonna bash on Gmail besides Google Plus for this recent busybody-like bullshit? If they are really busybody at Microsoft with no real fucking case investigation to whatever real situation whatsoever, then it appears that this is more or less the stupid technical idea we have ever seen.

Warrantless search through Hotmail

OK, I might have stopped using my Microsoft account for the blogs but this leakage, Alex Kibkalo, is like the garbage in knowing the security and privacy that he leaked the fuck out of Windows 8 codes. It is truly unreasonable and unforgivable when Microsoft did not go against the customers with their Windows 8 product in terms of privacy thingy. Sure, the Kinect 2.0 device will not be used against privacy as Microsoft swore because they're already pledging to protect their customers by encrypting their services.
It might be wrong to leak out the products that were still in development but Alex had the guts to verify with Microsoft using the same account owned by the company to see if things were genuine before he leaked the fuck out of them.
Keygen is something Microsoft feared as it might be expensive to patch that it could result in millions in lost revenue.
Sure, Microsoft had looked through the accounts in Hotmail service to find the source of the leaks but it was wrong to start the investigation like that technically without the warrant.
Next was that Alex Kibkalo was recently working in another company but they didn't know about the damages done to Microsoft until he was then suspended from his current job. Not only were the Windows 8 codes leaked but also the Microsoft Activation Server SDK which would open doors to piracy. Speaking of that company he was working at, it is about selling virtualization products based on Hyper-V. Of course, the pre-release leaks are like everywhere and Microsoft is trying to take down sites that contain those leaks.
You know, I had already blogged about the Windows 8 stuffs back then based on the articles from Building Windows 8 website, but I guess that this is obviously too late to undo the damages done to Microsoft.

DirectX 12 for PC, Xbox One and mobile

At GDC in San Francisco, Microsoft had revealed the DirectX 12 technology for their platforms ranging from PCs, Windows Phones and even Xbox One. Now, how can Xbox One and Windows Phones get the DirectX upgrade when there's some different technical behavior of the Windows Kernel? It is said that there will be performance boost with DirectX 12 but then, it can be backported to Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 when possible to make them even faster.
Intel, AMD, Quadcomm, etc. are developing their new technology that will support DirectX 12 entirely by hardware. The ones today are still using DirectX 10 or 11 but I suggest playing games on the computers with DirectX 11 powered video cards for better performance.
With DirectX 12, the Xbox One will have better features for games and the PC games using DirectX 12 will be able to get the latest generation console level.
For NVIDIA, they have GeForce Titan Black in which you're going to buy that video card in the future for your desktop computer in case of superior future gaming or some hardware problem with your current video card that you may want to replace it.

Windows 8.1 Deployment Jump Start

OK, I did have the prerequisites for this Jump Start like I already had the knowledge and experience of Windows Deployment all along through the MVA courses I took. The tools demonstrated so far were System Center Configuration Manager and MDT but it might seem that System Center Configuration Manager was starting to get more complicated to use and especially when you need to correct the task sequences for the sake of Replacement, Refresh and Bare Metal.
Also, the difference between MDT and System Center Configuration Manager was that when the computer boots up to Windows PE through the network, the drivers and other stuffs were loaded into RAM for MDT as if you needed more RAM for that compared to System Center Configuration Manager. The cool thing about SCCM was that you can use the Remote Desktop feature inside it to remotely gain access to the machine you're monitoring as well as to check the report of how many MDT-like tasks have been completed so far. Not to mention that you can make custom UDI Wizard for SCCM but then, that will not be called Zero Touch Install all along.
Lastly, there were way too many people attending this Jump Start including me that certain users were ignored when they asked the questions. Perhaps it was better for me to continue tweeting things about the Jump starts and I got some reply as a result.

Android Coffee Table at $6950!

This is unspeakably extremely expensive and more expensive than those ultra-large screen laptop computers with the 4K support. Its specs is gaming friendly along with the Blu-Ray drive although it may be a requirement for other operating systems, not Android. The larger model will have 500GB HDD with 16GB of RAM while the smaller model is half the ones from the larger model. A 3.7Ghz Core I7 processor makes gaming really epic on this coffee table computer provided that it is not running the popular mobile OSes such as Android for example.
There will be dual-boot to be planned as well to overcome such unnecessities of some parts of system specs. Sure, they may be unnecessary for Android OS itself but for other OSes, they are kind of epic of gaming purposes.
Your better bet is to buy the Lenovo Coffee Table PC I saw at the IT show the last time. Yes, I already talked about that but with recent research today, it turns out to be costing like $1000-$2000 range.

Firefox for Windows 8 Touch Beta

*Sigh* When will there be the final version of Firefox for Windows 8 Metro? Besides, this is more or less a recent article from Mozilla blog! You can do one-touch swipe transitions like I don't know if you can transition to another tab or something in addition to transitioning from one app to another. Of course, it may pose a problem like that. Also, the interface should be kind of similar just like using Firefox on Android.

Panasonic Performance version of Windows 8.1 4K Tablet

Even as a tablet device, the Performance version is like seriously big that it may be difficult to hold and use at the same time. Perhaps you're better off putting that down on the table and using it this way. I might have seen the device from Lenovo that is similar to this but for a big tablet device, it may look like it is useful for graphic artists for instance.
So, the specs are revealed for Panasonic Windows 8.1 4K Tablets and the Performance version is even more superior but more expensive. While the Standard version will be out in a few weeks, the Performance version will be out later this Spring.

ASUS Transformer Book Duet

This one's gonna be a little bit more interesting as this laptop/tablet hybird device has the Instant Switch Button that will allow you to switch OSes between Windows 8.1 and Android that easily and the keyboard dock gives you an additional storage of 1TB which is the normal hard disk storage of course inside the dock. So, the dock is like going USB-ish or something like having both the external hard disk and the keyboard connected at the same time as the USB bundle-like thing.
This device will cost $599 or $699 if you're going 1080p and it will be released late in the first quarter of this year in Europe but for US, they will have to wait until the end of the second quarter.

4K Display Windows 8.1 laptops by Toshiba at this year's CES

The previous 4K Windows 8.1 laptop was the one by Panasonic which was revealed at last year's CES so you might expect it to be released last year but the bugs caused the delays that it will eventually be released this year in February at the HIGHLY EXPENSIVE PRICE of $5999. The system specs are way too high at the time and especially for the upcoming 4K Windows 8.1 laptops by Toshiba which were revealed at this year's CES. The specs are somewhat different compared to Panasonic Toughpad. One of the laptops, Satellite P50T, will have the touchscreen support but even then, such upcoming laptops like these are seriously more expensive than the Macbook Pro laptops with retina display.
