Zaxxon Escape for IOS and Android

After 30 years, there comes a new Zaxxon game which takes place at the end of the original game where you escape from the enemy fortress or perhaps the enemy base. The original game is the isometric 2D shooter where you’re flying above the ground surface, shooting at things. In Zaxxon Escape, you escape from the enemy fortress in the style of Temple Run. How is this considered escaping from the enemy base when you’re escaping endlessly? This is more like wandering through the base in the style of Temple Run than escaping completely because escaping from the enemy base requires one emergency exit path or few to do so, not those complicated paths of escaping as seen in Gradius III. Sure, the flares are chasing you from behind but that doesn’t mean you have to take complicated paths to escape because the flares are supposed to spread so quickly around the enemy base to prove that it is already exploding into pieces.

The controls may be fun and the graphical concept makes this game look like a futuristic Temple Run game. You can buy various enhancements to the ship as well as other ships but are those in previous Zaxxon games as well? Eventually, escaping endlessly through complicated paths should not be how you escape from the enemy base after defeating the antagonist because you may end up dying in the middle of the escape that the original game may give you the bad ending. So, it’s an excellent mini game that is the tribute to the original Zaxxon.

Otomedius Excellent and Every Extend Extra Obtained!

Oh man, Otomedius Excellent being rated an average score? OK, the first time I played this, I realized on what the hell was wrong with it. First, the certain weapons which are always used in Gradius games are horrendous when trying to take out the enemies and the weakspots of the bosses. Second, some of the platonic breaks are tremendous but the other platonic breaks are already the best all along. Third, the gameplay quality isn't perfect either just like Radiant Silvergun for XBLA in which I already had the same realization. Forth, the way you charge the platonic break is horrendous like hell compared to using the D-Burst feature from the original which is kind of easy but on the Xbox 360 version, the lack of touchpad buttons may be kind of difficult compared to playing the arcade version. Sure, there's the touchpad on the controller when it comes to buying the original, no wonder the original version could not be released on Asian Games On Demand. And speaking of Asian Games On Demand, the sequel was already released a month ago without any notice from me until I checked again one more time to see if there is something new. In addition to Japanese and Asian Games On Demand release, there also happened to have US Games On Demand release. Last flaw is the inaccurate character concept for boss battles like, why the hell are certain traitors joining the Baterion?
And that concludes the rant, it is already mediocre to me but still, it is supposed to be as fun as playing the original Otomedius and Gradius V. Perhaps this is some game you should spend your money on instead of KOF Sky Stage which is slightly below average to me. So the rating is 5.8/10 for how screwed up the weapons are and the way you charge the platonic break whose attempt is kind of delayed before the charging starts.
For Every Extend Extra, it appears that the Original Mode has everything replaced except for the background, enemies, effects and especially the self-destructor ship. Yes, the Original Mode is what Every Extend Extra is inspired on. Not to mention by surprise that there is Numa Numa in this game, I already saw a video of some final stage before I bought the game.

Twinbee Portable obtained

Finally, the vacation was already over in January 8th and the last term started in January 9th. There will be Case Studies to do individually which is freaking super-tedious as I feel like it’s now in addition to Phase Tests and Class Tests. After various searches for new games to buy on the first day of the campus, this title happened. Well, I also want to buy another 3200 MS Points so that I can buy Bullet Soul for instance but then, I couldn’t even brace myself on that as other people also bought those cards as well. Sure, you can buy those cards for downloadable games and DLCs which can make sense to the gamers but then, it is getting quite rarer than before nowadays.
I actually had the complete idea of Twinbee series in which the original series was my childhood discovery in addition to original Gradius on the same Nintendo 8-bit system. Another childhood discovery of Konami games was likely to be Contra for example but what else did I play during my childhood then?
Finally, this is not the first Konami classic compilation I bought for the PSP. Other twos were Salamander Portable and Gradius Portable. Before this year, I also saw the copy of this compilation like years ago but then Japanese imports like this were quite hard to find.

Got the Xbox 360 in June 2nd

This should be surprising but it may be viewable a lot if we talk about various Cave games. From that time, there was the Microsoft IT event which was known as Microsoft Student TechFest. This took place at the auditorium of the polytechnic and we were briefed the respective decent Microsoft technologies. So we know the new features of Windows Live Wave 4 and the latest version of Microsoft Office. You know, I had used OneNote for probably personal projects that are good instead of crap. Other experiences included Windows Live Photo Gallery and Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows Live Writer in which nobody mentioned about Windows Live Writer. For Windows Live Movie Maker, it is not what we want to see like this because it’s completely different than its predecessor or the third-party video editor programs. Hell, you can screw this in favor of a video editor that is capable of rendering the 60FPS video. After all, I have the Nico Nico Douga account for uploading videos nobody does just like in my YouTube account. There were videos of my tricks I performed in video games like Gradius Galaxies and Sonic Heroes. Other glitch I performed unexpectedly was in Gradius IV in which I went through the dead-end in the high speed stage. That dead-end surely has smaller hitboxes between these boxy tiled things and that means they are not connected, leaving the rest of the stage to be connected or merged. Think about modeling two boxes without merging them that there are gaps going on. This happened while I was playing Gradius IV on my PSP. Back to Windows Live Movie Maker, I obviously used that program to post certain remixes to YouTube and Facebook respectively. Lastly, for Windows Live Photo Gallery, I may decide not to use it as it takes up so much resources and long to load up. So Microsoft OneNote is kind of useful for you to take note in schools, work and other kinds of briefings but other Microsoft Office products are underrated. After these introductions, there was some lucky prize winning and I was one of these lucky winners in which I won the Xbox 360.

Unfortunately, there were few flaws that screwed up the event. First is some bloody spoilt brat-ish song that was executed during the 10 second posing part but too bad that the prizes were not that major for answering the questions and doing those special parts as well. Second flaw was the unnecessary 10 second posing part in which you had to feel some musical beat like a dance or something. Also, you had to strike some poses on the stage. Why that song I mentioned was a brat-ish was that it’s because it is nowadays performed by that spoilt musical pop brat from Canada.

A Day Later

Then I had to buy certain games like Dreamcast Collection and Xbox Live Arcade games from the store after looking for games I wanted. It might be because those people had already bought those games or maybe the retailers discarded them as if nobody but me might want them. What I bought for Xbox Live Arcade was the 1600 MS Points card and after getting the trial version of those XBLA games, I used that card to get the full version of G.Rev’s Strania and holy cow, that was really hard.

Conclusion

This prize winning part took damn long like a waste of time but the real time-waster was the 10-second posing part. I guess that we had no choice but to keep on staying on the IT events at all time until we were dismissed. This is probably the screwed up IT event at the end, having to include that song or that 10 second posing part should not have been parts of the events whatsoever. Then there’s Kinect Adventures in which I never touched at all as I’m pretty shy to use that Kinect technology to play with it so I played a bunch of Xbox Live Arcade shmup games to surprise my foreign friend that I have the game console. After all at this rate, I may end up becoming the arcade gamer but I suck ass in fighting game genre. DAMN, what kind of controller was that from the console? Its sucky communication with controls got my ass kicked when I tried out the trial version of KOF 98 UM.
