6th KAC Live Stream

Thanks to Round 1 reviving some arcade scenes in the US in the modern way, it seems that DDR is back there with DDR A and DDR A is said to be the first DDR game to have the E-Amusement support. The success of the location testing of DDR 2014 in the US might have led to the official availability of the sequel, DDR A and it looks like the players from US were welcome to take part in 6th KAC.
At first, the competitors from Japan and Korea have been quite fierce that they had a higher chance of winning in 6th KAC but a surprising miracle came from the US KAC finalists for DDR in which one of the finalists had won the championship by surprise. Another interesting thing about that finalist from US, Chris, was that he had the legendary skills in Guitar Hero as well.
What I don't like about the live stream is the misbehaviors from the nerds in the chat session on YouTube. They had been spamming it with political, cursing and even other disgusting stuffs. And someone had the guts to comment about the characters from Sound Voltex at the *****graphical level. *Sigh* That person should be kicked out of YouTube or even better, the Internet for this. Such stuffs I saw were no jokes nor trolls. Another stupid thing people had been spamming the chat was the simulators of the official rhythm games. For me, I don't think such topics like that are pretty much allowed. Why the hell do you want to play those simulators when you're actually interested in the official and actual rhythm games, then?
Unfortunately, even if the KAC finalist from the US had won the first place along with DDR A being in the US thanks to Round 1, it is already too late to undo the damage for other parts of Konami when they announced Bombergirl for the arcades that was being location tested in this year's JAEPO. I already fear that there's no such thing as cancellation of such arcade games like Bombergirl which is the controversial spinoff of Bomberman. At first, the announcement of Super Bomberman R had people think that Konami is making a comeback but no, it's not a clean comeback all along when Bombergirl for the arcades was announced. It's so controversial because of unacceptable contents although Bomberman is the kids-friendly franchise. To explain this further damage Konami has done in detail is a different tale.
Also, Nostalgia, the spiritual successor to Keyboardmania, was shown at this year's JAEPO with improvements to the physical controller design in which the gameplay is made less difficult thanks to the controller's less realism. Things in Keyboardmania were realistic but as realistic they were, the game was extremely difficult and trying out a real piano is much tougher than that. I have also seen Marasy, the genius pianist involved in this year's JAEPO in which he played various songs from Bemani franchise in the real piano in front of the KAC attendees.
Lastly, besides KAC taking place, there's the similar competition involving rhythm games from multiple developers and it's not the first time crossover songs were made playable. Also, it marked the great end of the Lunar New Year celebration for Bemani fans.

Dance Dance Revolution A

The new DDR surprisingly was released this year as announced from this year's KAC. People thought that DDR 2013/2014 would be the last DDR game for the arcades and that was that but it seemed that the sequel existed as DDR A. The letter A may stand for Ace but not all players may be complete aces of DDR and other dance music games. The System BGM was a good impression on me and especially for the new UI which is looking kind of futuristic although the music select layout is based on the one from Sound Voltex III. The tutorial BGM originated from some DDR on the Wii although some parts of the song made you think like, you're playing Space Channel 5 from the fact that you have to follow the corresponding arrows they say in sequence via Simon Says.
This year's special aim will be to promote a bunch of EDM songs and we hope that you may get quite energetic upon hearing them. Hell, even some song by Zedd will be in DDR A as if Konami was like doing in the right direction but this is not the same for the other songs that are new to DDR A. It contains even more Touhou arrangements which normal people don't appreciate that much or something when it comes to proper music selection but for songs that came from other rhythm games, it's a good move.

DDR Dance Wars - WTH?

Previously, there were some DDR games on IOS devices that were kind of buggy that they were quickly pulled from the app store but later on, one of them was put back on the app store after certain bugs were fixed. And this year, we get DDR Dance Wars, the latest DDR CS game on IOS. We may be wondering if this is really dancing at all when playing on IOS devices.
However, I might have discovered a wireless bluetooth dance pad that is compatible for the Ipad on the net but it seems that it was being displayed in this year's CES or whatever. With that, you should be able to play some DDR games on the IOS if that works but otherwise, you're going to be out of luck if that doesn't work. And really, who thought this was a good idea? At least, you can try out Stepmania with the DDR controller to be played on Windows tablet devices provided that there's USB support and Stepmania is installed with the songs ready.
Lastly, the game features the mission mode, event mode as well as the famous DDR songs you can get but what the hell is up with the event mode? Holy cow, Konami, this is NOT the next SC5, like having to stop the alien invasion thingy with dancing! Another problem is the use of the new game engine that the timing or perhaps the BPM cannot be exactly right for certain hardcore DDR songs.

LNY Day 3

Again, this one involves the external visit unlike the second day in which the whole celebration took place inside my home for LNY. I recently finished the remix of December Breeze from Reflec Beat Colette today after starting the work on it yesterday. However, right after finishing the remix of December Breeze, I started on London Evolved which everyone knows it as a DDR song. After the visit to my fourth aunt’s home, I returned back home with the old laptop computer that belonged to my fourth uncle. From what I saw from the system specifications, it seemed that the RAM is only 1GB and the computer’s running Windows Vista Home Premium. This combination made it really unstable but of course, I know the freaking 360 products which are in Chinese entirely. They range from computer maintenance tools, anti-virus to web browsing and so on.

Speaking of London Evolved, it recently made the appearance on Reflec Beat Colette but I’m sure that the Encore Extra Stage song is obviously Tohoku Evolved. It may be harder than London Evolved but the meaning of Tohoku Evolved is about the March 11 disaster aftermath in which the song is arranged for praying for Japan’s national recovery.

Next day may involve looking for the fountain speaker thing by ATake which surprisingly comes with the Male To Male Audio Cable that allows you to get direct audio from two devices at the same time. Last time, I confused the shit out of the staff working at some shop as I was trying to look for that cable until I realized that that speaker from ATake finally had that cable but yesterday, I finally figured out with another online research on Google about getting the computer to directly receive audio from PS Vita console and things worked out correctly after following the instructions. All you have to do is to connect one end of that cable to the Microphone jack of the computer and the other end to the Headphone jack of whatever mobile device you want. You can optionally hook in the earpiece/headphone cable to the Headphone jack of the computer to see if you’re hearing some sound from the mobile device. When I did that yesterday, I finally hooked things up correctly. I could hear the sound coming from my computer and the PS Vita simultaneously. I guess that it can be useful for my video capturing of mobile devices in the future with that cable hooked in like anytime I want. Note that the video capturing is still done with the webcam though.

New DDR by Konami

After the release of DDR X3 last year, it seems that Konami had announced the upcoming DDR game that was location tested last year. We didn't know if this was going to be released last year or so but it turns out that this is going to be this year's release as they had recently released other Bemani games lately last year. Why is this named DDR only again in the arcades? There was already a Wii DDR game simply named DDR as well as the one on the Playstation 3 which is also known as DDR New Moves in the Europe. Okay, tell you what? This year marks the 15th anniversary of franchise so we should call this new DDR game as DDR 15th Anniversary. You can read it out here or in my Wordpress blog just to know that the franchise is celebrating its 15th Anniversary.
The new features include the TAG Play which replaces the Versus Play, the additional of Good Full Combo and other changes. It will have a new cabinet and increased monitor size and the TAG Play requires the synchronized play, sort of like Sega's Maimai where there is some synchronized play with two players. The downside of this upcoming game is that this may be the last one in the arcades with subsequent updates.
DDR 15th Anniversary game will be released sometime in March.
