Circles.Life controversial advertisement from 2024

Another local controversy coming from a different local telco, Circles.Life came under fire over the controversial advertisement that aired last year. It was about the boy who casted some explicit video from his phone to the TV and his mother then told him after waking up from the bed not to be embarrassed. Where's the discipline in the advertisement? Telling the video caster not to be embarrassed for his actions was not a reprimanding act at all. The worse thing was, that advertisement was aired on TV and available on Circles.Life official YouTube channel.

A few years prior to this controversy, Circles.Life made some defensive statement which didn't sound like they had intention to apologize that they were called out by the netizens again. The backlash was strong enough that they were forced to make an apologetic statement. However, in this controversy's case, there was none of that with no later news articles in sight. The indecent advertisement was part of the "Do Your Own Thing" positioning but there's no excuse to include malicious/indecent acts in the Do Your Own Thing category. They're more like they should belong in the Malicious/Dirty Acts category.

For the advertisement being explicit and indecent, it's outright inexcusable to normalize such stuff in general and it's scummy for any creep to defend that stuff by stating that anyone feeling disgusted from what they saw was whining about it. Unlike the M1 Fringe Festival 2017 which was nothing mandatory that you didn't have to attend, this controversial advertisement of last year from Circles.Life was aired on TV and shoved in the YouTube video player as an ad that would be played before the actual video. I don't know if they would dismiss your reports of that ad as some false and baseless report to silence critique or not but then again, if you see some indecent ad popping up on YouTube website, you should be able to report it. On the TV side, how would you avoid that ad in the middle of whatever show you're watching? What if that same ad was displayed in the public digital signage? Where were the brave complaints against that ad?

Lastly, like the M1 Fringe Festival 2017 controversy, switching ISP/telco due to the Circles.Life controversial advertisement wasn't going to be easy but in this case, you should be able to switch to a different provider without changing your mobile phone number at all.

Date Everything controversy

Passionate or not in making an indie visual novel game, what got in the developers' mind when making Date Everything? When the game was shown in Nintendo Direct some months ago, its trailer from Nintendo's official YouTube channel was bombarded with dislikes and there were people who hated it for wrong reasons that there were defensive tweets about the fact that the developers were fans of the visual novel genre and had passion in developing it no matter how weird it is. Even Goodbye Volcano High had the weird character hybrid but the bigger controversy in my opinion had to do with the fact that one of the former Ko_Op writers had come up with the disturbing Harry Potter and Pokemon materials. She had realized what she had done and moved on to writing articles for Nintendo Life and developing other indie games. I guess that she gained some redemption with later indie games she made that were quite good and I hope that the developers of Date Everything should gain the same redemption with later games that turn out to be good.

If you don't like the weird character hybrid in video games like what Date Everything has where household objects are date-able, stay away from those games. In Date Everything's case, how will you remake it from the ground up with proper human characters and writing, removing most of the degeneracy in the process? To me, it's not worth the effort and anyone else may agree with this fact. However, what's people reaction like should you fix the game unofficially with proper human characters and writing?

On the same month Date Everything was revealed in Nintendo Direct, the JP side had Tokimeki Memorial Emotional for Switch that will come out sometime this year and that is one of the well-known classic visual novel franchises many visual novel games are inspired by. Suffice to say, that franchise remains in Japan only and its dating concept is what attracts fans of visual novel genre globally.

Penda Beats rant

One of the realizations about Taito's Tetote Connect is that it didn't replicate the ballroom dancing like they planned it to as it's essentially a rhythm game where on-screen notes were interacted with touchscreen controls and most of the songs don't seem suited for ballroom dance whatsoever. Also, what kind of gamer would want to play that ever since it was announced and this question is going to be the same for the upcoming Penda Beats from Bandai Namco of all game companies? There was even a clone of Tetote Connect on mobile that's compatible with VRoid but the presentation during gameplay is unspeakably lame as it doesn't look like the avatar is dancing on screen at all.

Penda Beats from Bandai Namco is about the fan glow stick dance from the Japanese idol culture. Maybe there should be a warning from the arcade center or the game against anyone making obnoxious call & response during the song. The thing is, the dance can be done without it throughout the song. The song list is assumed to consist of the songs the nerds know of, including the modern J-Pop songs for instance.

Or so I assumed/thought when I saw a location test video from some tweet from Bean93449015. What were they thinking when making a brand new rhythm game for arcades like that? The VR concert simulation games including the Idolmaster one replicated the live concert experience correctly. The Kinect and VR dance games are still the craze when it comes to full body tracking. Nowadays, there are games that use webcam and AI-powered body tracking technology in addition to VR dance games since the Kinect line of devices was discontinued years ago. A glow stick dance game on VR would have been a better idea since the idea of replicating that dance was done wrongly for Penda Beats in many areas. The cabinet uses the sensors and some area where you tap with glow stick controller and that seems lame in multiple levels. It's like the game's trying to be an unhinged answer to Future Tom Tom where you have to raise up and wave at times during the song or maybe some other Sega rhythm games like Ongeki & Chunithm.

Dance Around from Konami happens to be another dance arcade game similar to Dance Evolution but with different technology that does full body tracking. When it came out in the arcades, the presentation and gameplay impressed the players with motion controls comparable to the ones in Kinect dance games. There's also Starri which uses webcam and AI-powered body tracking so that VR is not needed. Other games on Nex Playground, the family-friendly system Starri is also released on besides PC and mobile have some games you may be familiar with like the Fruit Ninja game for instance which is played a lot like Fruit Ninja Kinect. If there's going to be a proper glow stick dance game for arcades, they could have utilized the webcam and AI-powered full body tracking tool.

So, who is Penda Beats for after you see some location test video circulating on the net? Oh, about the location test video from some tweet, I hate to show links to whatever tweet I mentioned here after the amount of damage done to Twitter that I'll rather show links to posts from other social media sites with proper reputation. I guess that this is some arcade rhythm game you should steer clear once it comes out.

Honey, Pie Shopping & Pie Adblock extensions

Honey web browser extension is suspicious and fraudulent that many people have been aware of its unethical purpose such as exploitation of trust, false promises of best coupons and stealing revenue from influencers by hijacking and swapping affiliate links with the ones from the extension creators. Like other fraudulent products that have their shills, the Honey extension has its own defenders, making baseless and cult-ish claims that:

  1. They don't find any problem
  2. People have no idea how to use it
  3. People and content creators are whining about it

The people who are vocal about the extension realized how fraudulent and unethical it is and it's the same for other extensions from its same creators like Pie Shopping & Pie Adblock. MegaLag made a content exposing the unethical business practice from those behind the extension and the amount of red flags. The worse thing coming out of a disowned bastard behavior I saw on Twitter was a miserable interpretation of what MegaLag said. That person misinterpreting in a terminally ill online way must be a professional Twitter attention seeker in my opinion as proven by the account with the blue check. That's not passionate nor creative at all. It's not just influencers whose revenue was stolen by those behind the Honey extension. Even the consumers with that extension installed were cheated with false promises.

About Pie Adblock, it claims that you will get rewarded from the ads you want while it blocks other ads and that is way too good to be true. As suspicious and fraudulent as this extension is from the same creators of Honey extension, the companies behind their respective web browsers should take action to get the Honey and its similar extensions taken down.

SuperSega Scam

Frankly, the project leader behind the SuperSega scam had gone to the newest low recently by sending a screenshot to Lain Lee of the refunding customers' private information which constituted a privacy violation and was against the GDPR law in Europe. Last time before entering the new year which is this year, it looked like we went past the Intellivision Amico roadmap with no new information/update whatsoever like the content creators critical of that product posted one last video about it as if there will be nothing else to rant about due to the saga's inactivity. The SuperSega FPGA saga, it's FILLED with multiple red flags to begin with ranging from the prototype board design being outright questionable on every level to stupid stunts from the fraudulent project leader. A good FPGA designer would design something highly competent and functional with uniqueness and effort in mind.

In the past times, the SuperSega project leader ran his own previous company and scammed the customers who pre-ordered the camera which didn't come out due to the company's bankruptcy. It wasn't a legal business from his actions back then and it isn't a legal business in the present time with SuperSega FPGA.

The worse thing is, the SuperSega project leader had the audacity to ask the refunding customers to go to the bank to ask for charge back. It's kind of like how the scammer would ask the victim to pay the amount in order for the "technical issue" to be resolved for instance which can make the bank suspicious. Anyone with a good brain and an easy look at a counterfeit technical issue can tell the amount of red flags like the UI and the message looking suspicious for instance that they know well that a tech company wouldn't come up with a message box like that. Boldly involving the victims' banks in this had essentially made the SuperSega project leader a mentally ill fraud and I bet that Sega couldn't be anymore furious than that. At this point, there's no way he's going to get away with his criminal acts that they should be investigated.

Other content creators had similar contents discussing the countless amount of red flags SuperSega possessed and that amount kept rising quickly and if there's more news about it, the said amount will increase more. If not, I may have some thoughts and/or answers about how scrapped the SuperSega FPGA console is. It's wrong for its project leader to mess with Sega with the amount of stupid stunts. That console should be functional and well-made even at the prototype/proof of concept stage to begin with, not act like a toy like the disc drive in one of his videos did.

Lastly, where's the Dreamcast FPGA core? It doesn't look like there's one in existence for SuperSega yet. There's already official emulation for Playstation 2, Gamecube & original Xbox as part of backwards compatibility feature and this year, there will be a new compilation from Capcom that emulates the NAOMI/Dreamcast fighting games. As Capcom Fighting Collection 2 isn't out yet, there's no telling if they are arcade or Dreamcast version. So far, the Dreamcast emulation is already good enough for the most part but when it comes to FPGA scene, there still needs to be a piece of hardware that can emulate the 6th-gen consoles well.

Microsoft Recall controversy

If being desperate enough to force users to build trust between them and the company is what Microsoft and various game and tech companies do recently, it's about injecting whatever irrelevant stuff users don't give a damn about with the earlier example being the pre-bundling of Candy Crush Saga which is the kind of the game with no end to it with endless level progression path and further levels being extremely tedious for non-paying players and that ruins the purpose of fun and challenge to begin with. The biggest matter of the recent time has to be Microsoft Recall for Copilot+ PCs. It is notorious for being a big security and privacy issue but remember, it applies to Copilot+ PCs that there's no need to panic.

There are open-source alternatives to Recall but I don't know if even they can be trusted or not despite the fact that they would address some of the issues the actual Recall had initially. Even if Microsoft backtracked and addressed some issues from the severe backlash, the damage to the trust was already done with users already threatening to switch to Linux which is fear-mongering in my opinion. In fact, you're already better off without open-source Recall clones if that's the case when switching to Mac or Linux.

The real concern about Microsoft Recall was that it could be a perfect gift for cyber criminals, control freaks and domestic abusers. In the case of the latter, there could be concerns of victims being forced to re-enable Recall feature. Another problem is that the feature takes screenshots every time, wasting tons of disk space like it's a home surveillance camera.

If parental controls and home surveillance cameras are not enough, what else do you want? Also, if only there's a child account for the children linked to their parents' for the game consoles, PCs and mobile devices in which certain features like credit card/debit card and digital wallet features are not available. Lastly, if the child uses their personal account on their device, not their parent's, for gaming, that's fine.

Recently, Microsoft had delayed the Recall feature and the Copilot+ PCs will come out without it. Another piece of good news is that the said feature will be disabled by default but you have the option to enable it or keep it disabled in the OOBE. But still, a new feature that decreases the security level is already unacceptable. I wonder what kind of weird idiot would be excited for and protective of something like that.

Konami's Bombergirl controversy (Definitive Rant?)

By today's standards, Konami's game development actions regarding the highly disturbing Bomberman spinoff game, Bombergirl, might have landed themselves in hot water over the seriously disturbing gameplay elements when the characters take damage for instance. Some of the characters with such profiles I won't mention here combined with the indecent gameplay elements I just mentioned are super obvious by today's standards that Konami could risk crossing the line of going too far. The risk of Konami crossing the line sort of existed starting 4 years ago when I ranted about some highly disturbing Netflix dance movie certain content creators like Sidalpha made some videos of. Suffice to say, their opinions of that movie were highly negative. By that time I knew how disturbing and selfish that movie was, I could have redone a rant on Konami's Bombergirl much earlier than the time the disturbing Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid shmup game was released, and here it is, a proper way to rant.

Konami's Bombergirl was released in arcades way back in 2018 with the Konami Game Station version being released a few years later on PC. There happened to be some sequel but even then, I'm already better off with decent and non-disturbing games from Konami and other game companies. If the hot water wasn't dodged and dismissed enough as some whiny rubbish, they even had a spinoff of Mahjong Fight Club series with a similar concept.

Spinoff or not, this had gone way too far and what kind of creep would want to ask for the release of Konami's Bombergirl in the arcades outside Japan? I wouldn't be surprised if the content creators I know of made a gaming news video of the game sparking controversy for having a western arcade release.

Wubuntu controversy

When someone investigated the security issue in which those who bought the "activation key" for Wubuntu OS got their private information stored in the database, the developers of this OS had the audacity to alter some piece of information along with some writing that called the investigator an idiot and lamer or some sort. It wasn't a professional way to react and but it seems that the privacy violation stuff wasn't the only issue that sparked controversy. Other issue included the possible trademark and copyright infringement on the Windows 12 Lite level with icons, wallpapers and other assets taken from Windows OSes.

Wubuntu OS is part of the LinuxFX line of Linux OSes and recently, many content creators made their videos of it, demonstrating what it looks like for sure and deciding that it's not recommended for anyone to try out the OS. Tech enthusiasts already know what Linux looks like no matter how much disguise it can have. Obvious indications may include:

  • The flow of the startup and shutdown process of a Linux OS
  • Boot screen flow and asset positioning
  • Login screen and various applications
  • WINE for running Windows applications
  • Additional processes related to WINE can be seen on screen

I guess that it's pretty much the same as disguising whatever Windows OS as the other through transformation tools and whatnot but in Wubuntu's case, it can be comparable to Windows 12 Lite in terms of a controversial Linux OS that deserves to be found out by Microsoft. This one looks like it will be found out by both Microsoft and Canonical for unauthorized use of Ubuntu branding and Windows related assets but the real red flag in my eyes has to do with the data collection stuff and to pay for "additional features".

A big controversy surrounding Nijisanji & some former virtual livers

For starters, the recent controversy started with the amount of dark trouble the former virtual liver had gone through prior to moving back to being an Indie Virtual YouTuber as Dokibird. According to her, the work environment was said to be toxic and she had been ill-treated there prior to her termination. It had gotten that bad to the point that she made more than one attempt that landed herself in the hospital. The worse thing was, she wasn't paid there in the first place and had to use her personal money on the song cover. It's like she had been stopped from producing passionate stuff there. Needless to say, her fans were FURIOUS over the severe trouble she went through and despite her return to streaming under her indie identity, there were petty attempts from Anycolor to do damage control and those acts were criticized. Poor PR management? Sort of.

The official apology video from Anycolor CEO was a sheer nonsense and disastrous. It clearly showed that they devalued the virtual livers with the top priority being the investors when it came to apology. And to make certain virtual livers do the "addressing" video to the situation as a ploy to disrupt Dokibird's passion was some last straw to tarnish the company's reputation further. Another problem was that the private documents were sort of leaked by the company with such video posted on one of the virtual livers' YouTube channels and Dokibird was not happy about it. This could closely result in a lawsuit against the company for privacy violation although the legal battle between them and Dokibird will be no easy feat according to one of Sayu's recent livestreams. The trust is broken and difficult to rebuild at this point.

Another toxic part you can see on the internet is the amount of die-hard simps/shills of Nijisanji who keep defending the brand and organization to no end in which they dismissed whatever truth Sayu and Dokibird said as some kind of fabrication. Some shills even had the miserable audacity out of their unhinged and cringy behavior to come up with a list of anyone who ranted about the controversy, dropped support for Nijisanji, supported Dokibird, etc. Oh, let's not forget that Anycolor did a self-investigation in the same way EA & Activision Blizzard did. It's all a new low from what I knew about the controversy and I have a feeling that the drama the Nijisanji shills are prolonging isn't letting up. They will continue their malicious acts in an attention-seeking way. Man, some of the most immature nerdy behaviors might include having parasocial relationships with the corporation or some corporate entity as if the corporation was their parents or something. (Well, I'm looking at some "die-hard" Intellivision Amico shills who have parasocial relationship or some kind.) I don't care what nonsense they can spew out on social media. Surprise success from Dokibird is what catches my eyes and I already tweeted about her achievements.

As of this time, it appears that Dokibird's channel is going strong with large amount of subscribers, a Play button given to her, and the redone intro which is like one part of full Brain Power ownership rights level. What this means, many things about her when she was in Nijisanji are still hers to this day.

Backlashes surrounding SimplyGo app and system

Come June 1 of this year when the legacy public transport fare cards like the non-upgradable EZ-Link Cards and NETS FlashPay Cards will be phased out in favor of SimplyGo EZ-Link Cards, NETS Prepaid Cards & Bank Cards. Some of the changes for the SimplyGo system had already caused an uproar. Commuters who used the new app and system were disgruntled over the countless amounts of problems they encountered and some of them could be tracked by their fellow family members with their SimplyGo fare cards linked to said members' accounts with the latter being problematic.

For one, it is said to be going backwards in terms of technological transition. You won't be able to see the charge when you tap the SimplyGo fare card on both the Entry and Exit of the bus as opposed to tapping the cards that will be phased out. Instead, the reader will display Bank Card and SimplyGo. Another difference is the remote top-up of the SimpleGo fare cards using the app as opposed to proceeding to the General Ticketing Machine for topping up your fare cards.

Then, there are some problems like the only use left for legacy EZ-Link cards is for motoring and SimplyGo EZ-Link cards can be used for retail and public transport but not motoring. Sadly, other countries have their public transport fare cards that support all three services: Retail, Public Transport and Motoring. Another problem is the fact that the app can be used to track the other family members' travel. There was a news of a woman whose travel history had been tracked by her father as her SimplyGo EZ-Link card was linked to her father's account. Her workaround was that she used her bank card as a different SimplyGo compatible fare card for travel. There is no excuse for a commuter to get their travels tracked by their fellow family members.

Luckily, a smartphone isn't required but rather, it's one of the choices. With the app, you can check your travel history, do remote top-ups, remotely disable a lost card, etc. What is inexcusable however, is the tracking of other commuter's travel history, poor execution of the app and system in which they're plagued with technical issues, anyone defending the system that's currently in problematic state, etc.

There are statements from a blog post someone wrote about the system penalizing anyone financially who criticizes it by dropping the daily cap to none so that travels are not available but I don't know if that is true or not. For this blog post, the news articles were referred to in the writing of it to ensure that I got the common information.

Ubisoft's Controversial Inactive Account Deletion Policy

Look, I had received a similar reminder email about account deletion over inactivity before for those accounts I don't use alot in the present time but that's for the other services I use. Even Google came up with a similar policy but that's nothing I can worry about alot since I watch videos on YouTube regularly. Within 30 days, the account will be removed for inactivity but according to the definitive clarification from Ubisoft, only inactive accounts with no game purchases will be removed in 30 days, not accounts with game purchases so that people can come back and continue from where they've left off.

People have other/important things to do and that's understandable. However, to certain people angry over this controversy, it's like Ubisoft goes out of their way to take advantage of this controversial policy to remove accounts of the affected gamers within 30 days while the affected gamers are doing whatever important thing that keeps them away from their homes for a longer period of time. It's also like Ubisoft follows on a treacherous footstep to take away those games the affected gamers bought by removing their accounts behind their backs while they're away. Some of the concerns are valid enough but some of the angry reactions had gone on a different direction.

Whether you'll choose to know/believe the definitive official information or not after the backlash, I guess it depends on whatever backlash you're offended over. I had seen some previous controversies where I chose not to know ANY piece of official information from the offenders. What could prolong the ongoing offense was an apology demand, meaning I'd be told to apologize to the offender just because I had criticized or made a rant on something that sparked the controversy. I wouldn't turn a blind eye over a time-wasting apology demand because it constituted as a backlash defense. I might be in the right to criticize such controversial stuffs in the end. Some examples included the disturbing dance movie on Netflix, Cu***s, and the licensed Miss Kobayashi game developed by Kaminari Games. So far, I didn't encounter any reply with creepy defense in mind being thrown at me because I made a rant about the latter at that time. What that meant was weirdos telling me some immature, useless or drama-stirring shit while they kept defending that disturbing crap like it's something beautiful or whatnot. You know what else was unacceptable? A misunderstanding card. There has to be a better statement than playing that stupid card and it's better be something believable.

The official clarification from Ubisoft is something people should refer to but there is one other reminder that you don't own anything when it comes to cloud gaming and NFTs. In case of NFTs, the only thing you get is the receipt and only idiots think that they own such NFT items when the receipt is actually the only thing. What about freemium mobile games? Well, unless they can be played offline, they're pretty much useless once discontinued. It's even the same for certain modern arcade games which happened to fall under Live Service category, meaning that they're updated with new content on a regular basis. Another reminder is that Microsoft came up with a controversial policy regarding used games for Xbox One but they quickly backtracked after all the backlash they faced and even then, people were smart enough to buy the Playstation 4 when it came out. It took Phil Spencer a lot of time to restore the reputation of the console.

Ubisoft had an audacity to bring up the GDPR law when people know for sure that the GDPR law is generally about protecting the users' privacy and Ubisoft could land themselves in legal trouble with the controversial policy they came up with, had it not sounded clear enough.

TeeVee Telly "free" TV

The main catch for this upcoming "free" TV called, Telly, is the inclusion of ads that are displayed on the bottom of the screen but there are other pre-inclusions that stir controversy prior to the release of this "free" TV sometime this year. Such pre-inclusions involve the camera, microphone and motion sensor, and this upcoming "free" TV is supposed to be available for home use.

Privacy-issues aside, I don't know for sure if the "free" TV, Telly, is going to attract some stupidity or not after knowing the fact that such pointless hardware features are included. Louis Rossmann had a video about this and one piece of mockery from him is about masochists going masochistic when it comes to privacy and limitations on the freedom. It's like they have no regards for privacy at all and new technology is what they care for regardless of whatever concerns good people have. It's also like the masochists ask for things to be collected by the tech companies for advertising, "product improvement", etc.

Other problems include the amount of distraction from the ads on the bottom screen, voice assistant, music, game room and AI feature. I don't know if the news part can be disabled or not. Like the Intellivision Amico, only the idiotic weirdos try to get their parents or their spouse and children to play games on Telly together. I can imagine the amount of creepiness coming from those shills and good people are smart enough to stick back to buying a standard TV or a better smart TV than Telly. I already have an extension where I can disable those distracting parts of the YouTube website like disabling the list of videos on the right side of the page, leaving the video player, live chat box and whatever below the video player intact, for instance.

En Eins Perfektewelt Anastasis

Similar to how the prequel had the major update, making it a complete game, En Eins Perfektewelt Anastasis, is said to be the complete edition of the second game, to accomodate with the celebration of the game's second version release 10th anniversary. The first arcade release was on System Board Y2 with the second one released on Nesica X Live 11 years ago. However, because of the delay for quality improvements, the game was released recently this year.

The game had a location test last year and when it was shown in action, its presentation still resembles the previous releases and future arcade games are released on the arcade systems of the generations later than the Taito Type X2's generation. Speaking of the Type X2, the OS running it had completely ended support but the original Nesica X Live service is still on-going to this day and it's strange to see one more major game update arriving to that platform way too late. The last game update to be released on that platform was Blazblue Central Fiction 2.0, the same update that is available on consoles, PC, and Nesica X Live 2 for the arcades.

Unlike the prequel, En Eins Perfektewelt never had a console/PC release at all. There may be rumors of a PC release but I don't want to speculate about it. Some of the articles about the updated game, En Eins Perfektewelt Anastasis, have inaccurate information about the arcade platform it's released on but some of the official tweets from certain Japanese arcade centers will prove otherwise.

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet's Launch Controversy

For a modern family-friendly game like Pokemon Scarlet/Violet on Switch, a game being plagued with bugs and technical issues including inappropriate looking ones is unacceptable. As the latest game in the main series, it has tons of ambitious features like sending out your Pokemon to attack whatever wild Pokemon in range without needing to encounter one yourself, making things look real-time as opposed to traditional turn-based battle, having your own Pokemon to follow you in your adventure, organizing a picnic, riding the extraordinary Pokemon like Miraidon for instance and the presentation of Pokemon battle being more modern than before. There's no screen transition effect like the previous Pokemon games used to have when encountering a wild Pokemon or challenging a trainer/gym leader for instance but I don't know if that effect still exists or not in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet. Unfortunately, that kind of ambition for bringing Pokemon to later generation had already posed a bigger game development challenge for Game Freak.

Game Freak and Nintendo were already aware of the situation and looking forward to fix the bugs and technical issues in the game via future patches while adding additional features. Despite the game's messy launch, the amount of copies sold was ridiculously huge. Certain fans already demanded a refund because of such technical issues. The issues ranged from low-res textures, plagued graphical details, frame rate drops in certain areas, invisible objects, character bone motions looking awkward and one Pokemon that appears and clips through a character on a relative spot it's not supposed to land on.

In my opinion, there's no excuse for a modern family-friendly game on Nintendo consoles with 3D graphics to be plagued with bugs and technical issues as those can ruin the fun. Since the serious mistake from Game Freak, Nintendo and Pokemon Company occurred and Tommy of Intellivision had an insulting remark on Switch on the forum at the time, his shills being proud of this mistake happening can essentially mean that fans of Nintendo consoles and games including Pokemon franchise were more displeased over that mistake than they were over the previous controversies Nintendo caused.

Pac-Man World Re-Pac - Updated Credits

A few months after the game's release, Bandai Namco and Now Production had made a patch that improved many aspects of the game such as credits, soundtrack and other stuffs that were changed. The credits part is the most important part of the update with the original team who made the game credited with True Accurate Information. Under the Sounds and Music part, it is Todd Dennis and Joey Kuras who worked on the music and sound part for the original version of the game under Tallarico Studios at the time. With this updated credit list, it can be proven that Tommy wasn't the one who composed the music for the game at all. Also, it is the first step in undoing the damage Tommy had caused in the past. The other games Tallarico Studios was involved in still have inaccurate credit information for the composer as if many websites still state that Tommy is the only composer due to him passing off others' compositions as his.

Besides the patch, there are two DLCs for the game and the Jukebox feature allows you to listen to the high quality versions of the songs in the Sound Test. The soundtrack in Re-Pac is said to be updated with high quality and uncompressed versions for free but the Jukebox remains a paid DLC.

Indeed, compliment is what I have for Bandai Namco and Now Production for a truly accurate credit information for the original team under Special Thanks category. However, this update should come with a new responsibility to keep those credits for the original team accurate and protected. The sites that wrongly claimed that Tommy Tallarico was the composer for this game should have corrected the credits in the game page once the update was out. I don't know for sure if there's some jerk-face out there who tries to make a malicious request to those sites to revert said changes or not but I think that the Special Thanks portion of the updated credits list should remain in the accurate form.

Aside from the Intellivision Amico controversies, there were other backlashes Tommy had done in the past such as giving Super Smash Bros games a low score in the most ignorant and offensive ways, and passing off other stuffs like sound effects he didn't make as his creations for instance but you can look up those stories yourself as they're beyond the scope of this blog article. His actions were not cool back then and the on-going controversies surrounding the Amico had already tarnished the Intellivision brand and his reputation further.

TRDR Pocket 2 controversy

It's like the manufacturers of TRDR Pocket followed Soulja Boy's shady footsteps and that kind of footstep is what only losers follow. There are two reasons why the TRDR Pocket 2 is as controversial as the first one:

  1. False advertising
  2. The console is as scammy as the first one even if Soulja Boy is not involved

The design is more or less the same and who wants to play games on this thing? For advanced games like TPS or FPS games, it is still problematic for both TRDR Pocket 1 and 2 as they have a lack of trigger/shoulder buttons. It's even worse if there's no controller support at all for those games. The inclusion of 4G is somewhat a retarded idea for an Android device that is a portable game console. About the false advertising for the console I mentioned earlier, the console is said to have AI-related features which can be made dangerous due to how much of a scam the console is even if Soulja Boy is not involved.

This pretty much angered gamers even more despite the fact that Soulja Boy is not involved this time in which the lessons given to learn didn't mean anything to the manufacturers of TRDR Pocket 2. They downplay and don't bother to learn those lessons and try to brainwash people with AI related features that try to "teach them any social skills and stuffs" with that TRDR Pocket 2 console. Why learn something from TRDR Pocket 2 console when you can learn a couple of things from modern games' interesting concepts and cutscenes? The TRDR Pocket 2 console isn't going to change your life in a good way and you're not going to make friends with it. Gamers are more interested in highly popular games normally and they discuss what goes on in those games.

A smartphone//tablet running Android has a better screen than TRDR Pocket 1 & 2 consoles and is attachable to whatever external gaming peripheral. Such peripheral may or may not be like the Switch or Wii U console in terms of design but it's a better gaming experience that way for advanced looking mobile games. For other portable Android gaming devices, they have a better design than TRDR Pocket 1 & 2 but that's a different story.

In the end, TRDR Pocket 2 is a scam with bullshit features just like the original TRDR Pocket. It's not worth your time and money, and your mobile device is already more capable for mobile gaming in the first place.

Splatoon 3 Virtual YouTuber Livestream Controversy

Splatoon 3 seems to be a hit on Nintendo Switch as it is as fun as the previous Splatoon games but there happens to be one Virtual YouTuber-related controversy that crossed the line. Nintendo wasn't happy about that controversy that occurred this month that they took actions against several members of a group I don't know of. The members' channels were terminated and the policy of taking screenshots or making videos of Nintendo games was changed as a result. At least, said members of that group whose channels were affected later apologized for their indecent acts.

What those members of a Virtual YouTuber group I don't know of did was green-screening something disturbing on the opponents' ink and covering that ink with their own team's in the game. Whether it's a new way or another way, it's still inexcusable enough that it caused a controversy. Sure, the Switch has a couple of mature-rated games that are also released on other game platforms but most of the first-party games from Nintendo are mainly family-friendly or teen-related games and Splatoon series is said to be family-friendly. However, in this case, the incident that occurred recently had gone too far and I'm reminded of another gaming controversy that happened two years ago in which the game's writer had come up with disturbing Pokemon and Harry Potter related tmaterials prior to working on some indie game. She realized her mistake and apologized but what cannot be scrapped is the consequences when such gaming controversy occurs. At least, it's better to realize the mistakes than to keep defending something extremely disturbing.

There are other Virtual YouTuber-related controversies I knew of like a group of trolls spamming the live chat with disturbing spam messages that caused many Virtual YouTubers' channels to be terminated, an AI software where fan arts of whatever Virtual YouTuber can be produced that may or may not cause some confusion on whether those artworks are actually produced using that tool or not, etc. The former was already bothersome like it's obstructive to business with the latter about fan arts generated using the AI software in a disturbing way being more concerning.

Meta's Horizon Worlds metaverse is so disastrous that they force employees to love and use it

Man, is this a vicious plan disguised as a discipline they've come up with for employees because the employees kept avoiding the app? The employees developing this metaverse app were already feeling disgruntled by that plan after people knew how disastrous the app is. As a tech demo, the showcase was said to be interesting but it turned out the app was poorly executed from the start. The avatars were missing the bottom half like legs for instance and the graphical potential was unspeakably low. Were those avatars intended to be simple or full-fledged to begin with? Even the Playstation Home has superior graphics to Horizon Worlds metaverse, ranging from good looking avatars to scenery having sufficient potential with proper textures, proper water effects and superior shadow effects. Hell, the Playstation Home had some mini games to play through at the time that it gave players the reason to explore various virtual places and interact with other players.

The bigger concerns included the highly expensive Meta Quest Pro VR headset which cost $1000+, privacy concerns surrounding Facebook and Horizon Worlds, and the inferior quality of the metaverse app that the consumers are already better off with other VR apps like VRChat. It's no wonder lesser and lesser amount of people is using Horizon Worlds metaverse. It's like those at Meta came up with Horizon Worlds with business in mind and they expected the employees to use it for the sake of meetings and stuff. Why do you want to buy that super-expensive VR headset as an add-on for video conferencing when you can simply use Zoom or Microsoft Teams, instead?

Upon seeing that video title of this gaming news from Yongyea's YouTube channel, I was already concerned on what other greedy game companies would do after that news broke out. What would Ubisoft do to the game developers who were against NFTs? What would Intellivision do to anyone's who has been criticizing the Amico? Plus, is there such a thing as alternative game engine for Intellivision Amico game development ever since the recent Unity controversy caused by Unity Technologies CEO? If Unity is the only game engine for that platform and Intellivision found out that some game developers were using some other game engine like Godot, what would Intellivision do to them?

From Yongyea's YouTube channel

Indeed, there may be weird and fishy obstacles to whatever criticism we have but it's ridiculous for the employees at Meta to be forced to use and love the disaster that is Horizon Worlds metaverse. It's greedy and vicious that forcing people to use and love something they hate is making them hate it even more. One other thing I learnt is that criticism of a product can happen anytime from pre-release to post-release but I should be careful to find the right time to criticize the product. If there's a backlash surrounding whatever gaming product, it opens doors to rants and criticisms from content creators for instance.

COD MW2 Phone Number Requirement Controversy (A controversy borrowed from Overwatch 2?)

If the phone number requirement for Overwatch 2 wasn't controversial enough and is a feature that won't go away for new players of the Overwatch series, even the upcoming COD MW2 will borrow that feature. That's Activision Blizzard for you which can mean game franchises coming from both sides. The problems Activision Blizzard mentioned like bots, cheaters and other types of gaming misbehaviors still exist to this day but to make use of phone number to tackle such problems isn't going to help a lot in my opinion as there are concerns of the solution's downside like someone using someone else's phone number to do such malicious activities for instance. So, if you see someone doing such malicious stuffs in the game online, you should report that person. Of course, it's not an easy feat from that point on as once that person's account is terminated for their disruptive behavior, they can come up with another account to circumvent the account termination and continue such nefarious acts using it.

It's like Activision Blizzard downplayed the backlash Overwatch 2 caused and they're trying to extend it further with other games like COD MW2. You may wonder if they're out of their minds enough to cause another gaming controversy in a row or something after a series of controversies surrounding Diablo Immortal occurred. It's worse than we thought but again, people were right to be disgruntled and vocal over such controversies like this. And to anyone claiming that people were "entitled" for feeling displeased, disgusted or whatever over the Diablo Immortal gaming controversies, it'll be best to reflect on this mistake.

Overwatch 2 Phone Number Requirement Controversy

What kind of greed would come up with an unusual requirement for playing a game like Overwatch 2? Indeed, there have been cases of bots, cheaters and toxic behaviors plaguing whatever popular game out there but to make people enter their phone number as part of logging in to the game in the guise of tackling those problems is already STEP BACKWARDS. How can THAT be a solution to said problems, anyway? It's like an email address isn't enough to mainly represent your gaming account that the phone number is somewhat the main thing or a required portion of the account information.

It's stupid that Activision Blizzard had the audacity to mandate something like linking/attaching a phone number to the gaming account to play. Sure, if anyone is caught using bots, cheats or even impersonating someone as part of a disruptive and immature behavior for instance, that account of theirs will be banned. Granted, that person may end up making a new account to continue such acts as a way to circumvent the account termination. As long as that person's malicious behavior continues to persist, it's going to be a long fight against it. So, what can Activision Blizzard do to the phone number belonging to the account that is reported?

A bigger problem is that not all players were able to play Overwatch 2 as they happened to use prepaid plans but the lucky thing was that not all prepaid plans were affected and even then, is there an acceptable reason on why the account used to play Overwatch 2 and other games must have the phone number attached? What about the authentication app? Many tech companies have one and it's said to be more convenient for account security.

I don't know for sure if handling over your mobile phone number by attaching it to your battle.net account as required for playing Overwatch 2 is considered a privacy violation or not. Even if it is, the mandation of phone number for playing Overwatch 2 is a NEW LEVEL OF GREED I've ever seen in gaming. How much worse the reputation can be for Activision Blizzard after endless amounts of controversy surrounding Diablo Immortal? There's already a well-known case of some streamer spending huge amounts of money on the microtransaction feature in Diablo Immortal and his acts were financially selfish. You could have spent that same amount of money for a house or something instead.

Yesterday, Activision Blizzard dropped the controversial requirement for Overwatch 2 for anyone who's played the original Overwatch. So, I do have a feeling that the requirement is still there for those new to the series or something.

Currently, the game is in early access and was recently released a few days ago as a free-to-play game on PC, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Playstation 4 and Playstation 5.
