Tetote X Connect for arcades

I don't know if I'm going to have a mixed or bad impression about the upcoming Tetote X Connect from Taito that will be coming out in the arcades this year after seeing the preview video of the gameplay in action from 4Gamer's Official YouTube Channel. It's quite concerning to me when it comes to the gameplay concept like who's going to it when it comes out sometime this year? Also, the location test will be taking place late this month as of this writing.
From the game's official website and Wikipedia article, it mentions something like Ballroom Dancing as the implemented concept technology-wise but this kind of dance is more difficult to replicate than the standard dance that is doable in dance games using the Kinect. Is the partner character doing all the spinning for you when you're holding that Hold Note without release? Well, that's my imagination as I don't know if there's a special Hold Note like that or not. I also don't know if the body turning is recognizable by the Kinect or something. Will that count as a miss if you don't turn your body around to the Body Turn Note?
Then, there's what going's to turn the others off, the game where you dance close to the screen with the partner character like you're doing Ballroom Dancing. The game uses touch screen feature along with some technology that detects your posing. There may be times throughout the song where you're supposed to strike a pose and even before the song starts, there will be calibration tests that require that you strike poses as well. It's kind of comparable to the Yankee Doodle/Patty Cake minigame from Project Diva F series on PS Vita except that the on-screen arrows/circles are not on-screen notes whatsoever in that minigame.
I don't know if there will be people doing the Ballroom Dance in the arcades to whatever Groove Coaster song that is playable in Tetote X Connect or not. As of this writing, there's the preview video from 4Gamer's YouTube Channel of Taking Off by Sato which you can play in Groove Coaster in the arcades, mobile or PC.
In Fit Boxing for Switch, you're doing the boxing moves to the beat according to the on-screen notes and the vocal guides by the coach, INDIRECTLY using the Joycons. You don't need to play that close to the TV or the tablet unlike the upcoming Tetote X Connect where you have to play close to the screen as it uses touchscreen for the notes.
You know what else is controversial? The usage of GP system similar to the one in Sega's Border Break and you have the options to go for higher amount of GPs for more credits. In fact, I don't know if there's a Continue box telling you if want to continue the game or not that brings you to the Main Menu screen. By continuing, I mean inserting additional credits and answering "Yes" and then selecting the amount of GPs.
As of this time, it seems that Arcade Heroes already had an article about this upcoming game although things seem to be quite deep for me. Taito will have a livestream on the day the location test takes place.

Even if the game comes out in the arcades, I have no plans to play it as there may be concerns about how gross I can be if I play it.

Filip Miucin's actual apology?

At least, it had taken months for Filip Miucin to come up with a proper apology and realize his mistakes for the bad actions he had done including dismissing whatever recent criticisms that had been thrown at him after he was fired from IGN.
Prior to this, he had been comment-bombed on his videos after making a non-proper apology video as if people had been bashing him for further plagiarism or something. Not to mention that he had made a few of those videos with some period pauses in between and he even claimed that his critics had made the defamatory articles or something when they had actually done the proper job in reporting his actions. He also claimed that things were 'Original' when most of the reviews he had done were actually exact copies of other reviews. It was a total shame on him even after he got fired until the time he made a proper apology video, hoping that the mistakes would be corrected, right?
Well, he could apologize and realize his mistakes but after that real apology video, I hope that he'll know what he's doing as a proper adult under the Internet's watch as that video can be for naught if he does the same shit that is described above again.
This apology of his should be a lesson for him and everyone and citing out references is a must when it comes to those making online news articles for instance. Playing victim instead of admitting to your mistakes when it comes to plagiarism may annoy people even more like he did the last time.

Epic Games Store controversy

Well, it's a rant about the Epic Games Store after it's caused a big controversy. Of course, it's not the only launcher for PC games that does that. The EA's Origin has a bigger controversy and the reputation of EA has been getting quite bad. Here are the following two big problems Epic Games Store has caused.
The first problem is that future AAA games will be on PC via Epic Games Store that caused review-bombing on Steam to occur and especially for how the exclusivity is handled. Metro Exodus on PC is one controversial example for timed-exclusivity and there was some kind of apology going on for that mistake. Plus, the Epic Games Store is not the only launcher for modern digital PC games. There may be other launchers out there like the ones from Bethesda, EA, etc.
The second problem is the cyber-spying issue coming from Epic Games Store itself and people often accused it of spying on people for the Chinese government. Of course, the accusation taking place on Reddit is inaccurate when someone else tried to correct the person who came up with that accusation. Even EA's Origin is guilty of spying on people but in case of Epic Games Store, it is Epic's relationship with Tencent. Even the corrector of course is not supporting Epic Games Store as it is inferior when compared to other competing launchers like Steam. The culprits behind the data collection are the tools the corrector mentioned. They are debug tools used to monitor activity on software. The worse thing is that the Epic Games Store is an app based on the web browser as if it likes to read the root certificates. Even other applications like Discord and Steam are guilty of this.
Another worse thing is that Epic Games Store has violated the GDPR and at this rate, the company running this launcher may risk getting fined although you may have to keep a look out for the defenders of the controversial launcher. Also, going anti-Chinese just because of this controversy is unspeakably wrong and immature. I don't know the reason behind the tech companies in Beijing doing the cyber-surveillance thing but stereotyping things like that is one way of isolation.

I can say that this is more or less a summarized rant about the Epic Games Store but there are tons of YouTubers out there who have been making news about this like Yongyea, ReviewTechUSA, SidAlpha, etc. If you seriously despise the Epic Games Store based on the controversy it's caused, perhaps, buying the other versions of the same AAA games is the alternate option.

Capcom Home Arcade controversy

The controversy should take you back to several years ago when SNK manufactured Neo Geo X with Final Burn Alpha which is not for commercial use. However, it looked like SNK went with it and after some time, the console was eventually discontinued. There might be flaws in the emulation at the time and people have concerns about inferior emulation of the games on the upcoming Capcom Home Arcade because it uses the same emulator.
The good thing is that some CPS-1 and CPS-2 games can be played at home legally via the Capcom Home Arcade as they never have the console releases. Shame that there's no CPS-3 games there but then, MAME and Final Burn Alpha should already have accurate emulation for them. The emulation of 32-Bit arcade systems onwards is not easy, mostly for MAME but for other emulators emulating 128-Bit consoles and arcade systems onwards have more accurate emulation than what MAME has today. Even in the present time, the emulation of 128-Bit arcade systems is still super-inferior on MAME. Various graphical effects are missing and inaccurate and the actual blur effect is missing for textured and enlarged 2D stuffs, hence the pixellated textures for 3D models.
Even the boot process for CPS-3 and NAOMI is not an easy stuff as it takes time for data to be transferred from optical disc to memory. However, there should be a way for emulators to skip that process. The only CPS-3 game that never gets a console port is Red Earth and even then, other fighting games like Jojo series and Street Fighter III series are the reasons to discover the CPS-3 arcade system.
The controller case design is quite silly. Somebody must be stupid enough to come up with that like it's shaped like a Capcom logo. You may as well swap the case with a proper controller case for a fair play. The system is basically like Pandora's Box except that the games are legal this time.
People are already suspecting that Soulja Boy might be the cause of the controversy as if he manipulated someone from Capcom to do even more shady things of his like taking the Final Burn Alpha emulator source code and then putting it in the actual product without permission. The authors of that emulator are NOT happy about it and blaming Soulja Boy this time for this controversy seems ridiculous.

Sony's censorship policy in games (Part 2)

Last year, there had been news regarding Sony's controversial censorship policy in video games but this time, there's a confirmation on where did the reason come from. Someone from the radicalized MeToo movement had manipulated Sony into censoring stuffs in mature games, mostly the mature Japanese games like Senran Kagura series, various visual novels, Omega Labyrinth-Z, etc. Those kinds of games are famous for the large amount of fanservice stuffs as well as the fact that there are some mini-games or modes where you can interact with the characters in anyway you want including things that are distasteful to certain people. Seriously, if you find this kind of stuff distasteful, why do you want to take a look at those games or even buy/try and play them in the first place? It's not like video games may cause negative influence on grown adults. Grown adults already know the difference between reality and fantasy.
To put a blame in movies, video games, dramas, cartoons and other media contents over 'negative influence' is already bullshit enough. Plus, to take actions of false justice like censoring those things in those Japanese-made games is going to anger the fans and it's already wrong. And don't even be stupid enough to play the same games on the laptop computer, PS Vita or even the Switch elsewhere as if your home is probably the safe way although there's still no guarantee in my opinion.
Even some of the AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Devil May Cry 5 are affected by this situation as well like some even parts are censored for the same reason but this is mature atmosphere for a mature game, mind you. I don't know if this is okay like that for those AAA games or not but it seems that it's not as Sony has gone too far in the censorship policy, ranging from censoring things in those niche Japanese games to even some AAA mature games. I also don't know if even the Playstation Vita is affected by the same policy as well.
For Cyberpunk 2077, there's one part where the main character goes to the scavenger base to stumble upon a bunch of naked bodies there, both male and female. That's something to do with the trans-human concept stuff like it's some kind of an experiment. Again, I don't know if people may find real evil experiments distasteful or not if there are ones in existence in the future. The story seems to be dark like it's taking place in a dark future. As this is one of the AAA games that's going to be affected by the on-going censorship policy, the alternatives will be to buy the same game on the other platforms which have everything intact.
Overall, the policy Sony came up with is more controversial than before and it's not a good idea to begin with. For a strictness like this, you can't tell if it is real or not. And for protection of children stuff, this policy is going in a wrong direction. You can come up with a house policy against your children playing those kinds of games even when they're fully grown but to get a company like Sony to come up with a policy like that is already causing outrage among the players. To the west, there are people who may find that sort of fanservice kind of weird or distasteful but that's cultural difference for you.
And because of that policy, there might be delays for the release of such games on Playstation 4 in the west or even worse, cancellation and people got pissed as a result. The ESRB rating had been there for review of the games to see if they are mature or not ever since the time the controversy went on about the past games like Mortal Kombat and Night Trap for instance although Night Trap seemed to be rated T for some reason.
Then, there are additional questions below.
  1. How did Nintendo allow a bunch of mature games on the Switch?
  2. Isn't Nintendo supposed to be a family-friendly game company to begin with?
Those questions are what I cannot answer but at least, people had found and talked about the outside culprits who manipulated Sony into coming up with that policy.

Controversial Steam game, R*** Day, pulled by Valve

Update: It appears that Sidalpha had a video with R*** Day and other games in it posted earlier than the time the blog article was published. There is an article from Bounding Into Comics that was posted a week later regarding R*** Day as an additional news.

This is probably a challenging news for parents, schools, game jam venues, conventions and even workplaces when it comes to setting up a new policy against inappropriate stuffs in video games whether it's about playing them or perhaps, developing them. The indie game development studio, Arcane City Game Studios, were the subjects of the public outrage and they even attracted those who were against Vic Mignogna, the famous voice actor who was fired over false allegations or whatever but I should intend to steer clear of any topic involving him as you may risk getting attacked for siding with him or going against him. It's like two sides have been fighting each other like there's no way to know which one is the real truth to the other side. The same battle takes place between people who were PISSED over whatever inappropriate stuffs depicted in the Steam game, R*** Day, that was pulled by Valve and the game developers and publishers of that game.
In that game developed by Desk Lamp, you control the "most dangerous rapist in town" during the zombie outbreak. The kind of protagonist surely says it all and no gaming platform manufacturers like Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft are going to welcome this kind of indecent shit like that. The only gaming platform that allows this shit to be published will be Nu***u game console or the Nu***u game service. It can be ridiculous if someone comes up with the copyright warning message saying that R*** Day should be used only in the polar regions like Antarctica for instance only as a replacement to the Auto-Save message as if playing it outside of those is equal to copyright infringement.
What happened what that someone by the name of Spencer had reported the Let's Play videos of the previous game, The V****n, to YouTube to have those videos taken down as well as reported the official Twitter account of Arcane City Game Studios for indecent game development. What about Desk Lamp, had that person reported them as well? Following the reports, Spencer eventually made some tweets that drew tons of attention including the attraction of critics. Unfortunately, the way the attention was drawn was going to remind you of the past gaming days as if people were ignorant about the plot or some sort according to Arcane City Game Studios but in case of R*** Day, the controversy had gone to the next level. Following the attention, Arcane City Game Studios had the guts to attack back anyone who was pissed including Spencer by calling them some type of warrior. To get the other games taken off Steam just because of something offensive is already questionable in the first place as R*** Day is not the only game taken off Steam over that reason.
To call this kind of criticism or report "whiny" or some shit is childish in my opinion and Arcane City Game Studios should be ASHAMED, not calling back out those who called them out. Sure, there might be attacks between those two groups as well as the fact that the game was pulled from Steam but the development game studio should not continue to come up with such disturbing games like R*** Day.
The cyber-scoldings delivered to Arcane City Game Studios were REAL but to dismiss the scoldings like you've done nothing wrong and reporting them as abuse is epic bullshit. Even the Q&A answer of theirs from the game's official website pissed me off as well as if they may get banned from going back to their parents' home if they have their own homes. Also, the petitions to get the game pulled from Steam had gotten a victory and bravos to those who had made ones. However, to include the hashtag related to the Vic Mignogna case is WRONG. You can't compare this controversy to whatever that has been happening to him. Funny thing is, Arcane City Game Studios is siding with him even though they are obsessed with disturbing stuffs in games and cartoons. Not to mention that they have called certain fictional characters spouses or whatever and their overall actions are enough to score a permanent block from me on my accounts.
Sure, you can be a game developer/designer when you grow up which is fine but you need to know which kind of studio to work at and especially for looking at the list of games published/developed by them before you decide. Punishments may occur on you should you get caught playing the indecent and disturbing kinds of games like R*** Day or The V***** in homes, schools, conventions or even the game jams. I hope the game jams do not condone the disturbing kinds of game like those by Arcane City Game Studios. Get caught developing the disturbing and disgusting kind of game for the game jams, and you'll be BOOTED OFF THIS INSTANT! Nobody's warning you about this but I should be sure that Arcane City Game Studios should know better. Plus, I don't support, condone nor defend that kind of game like R*** Day or The V*****. Even certain movies, books, TV dramas and cartoons have that sort of fictional offenses like what goes on in R*** Day and it's a shame that someone emulated whatever actions from some AAA game and there was a news like that in which he drove his parent's car as if the whole thing was like that AAA game and caused a bunch of collisions or something.

Neo Geo Mini obtained

I sort of had the mixed opinion about the Neo Geo Mini even before I bought it for real. Firstly, the picture quality isn't that sharp when the console is hooked up to the TV which displays 720p. Secondly, the controller seems to be missing the click-iness as that component seemed difficult for SNK to produce but it is still fine nonetheless. Third, is the lack of the battery feature for the console. People were affected by such opinions but at least, the experience is still enjoyable.
As of this writing, I sort of enjoyed playing the Neo Geo Mini and this is probably my first step in legalized collection of Neo Geo games. Other legal ways to obtain Neo Geo games would be to buy them for PS3, PSP and PS Vita via Neo Geo Station, PS4, Xbox One and Switch via Hamster Arcade Archives, Wii and Wii U via Virtual Console, PC via Steam and so on. The Asian version of Neo Geo Mini is based on the Japanese one but the copyright warning screen obviously applies to the Neo Geo MVS games like there's no need to worry about copyright issues or something as if the stores had the rights to sell the Neo Geo Mini in the first place.
In the sea of Classic/Mini lines of consoles, the Neo Geo Mini suits me the most with tons of arcade games in stores for me although I may be a big sucker at them, mostly fighting games for instance. Needless to say, the boss fighters may be quite tough and the difference of the move lists between the games in the series may be a big confusion. Indeed, there are already differences in the command lists for the same character in the KOF series. Later KOF games have the EX-Mode that is activated by pressing certain buttons at once. Unlike the Neo Geo Station, there doesn't seem to be an official way to look up the move lists for the Neo Geo Mini system. I have to look up online for those moves and see if there are moves that I can pull of.
Controller-wise, the arcade stick felt more like the console controller's analog stick and the same goes with the buttons which are like recycled from the Neo Geo AES controllers.
