Blackphone 2 by Silent Circle

This one may look like it's suitable for business people looking for devices with higher security. The successor to the original Blackphone surely has superior specs although it is a little bit more expensive than the Iphone 6s for comparison. Android devices running Android 5.x should have the same level of security and especially for Iphone 6 series today although the price is obviously the downside due to how superior those devices are and especially for the ones made by Samsung which may cost like a price of a standard computer. The Blackphone 2 OS is obviously the same OS as the first Blackphone is although I don't know what exact version the OS is but again, I still know that it is based on Cyanogenmod. And of course, the Blackphone 2 can be suitable for mobile device management. To keep both enterprise and personal stuffs separate and private, there should be something that is akin to VMWare's Android virtualization program where you can open up the Android VM containing the enterprise stuffs although it may look like either a remote desktop kind of a technology or maybe a local VM technology given to the employees but even then, it's a recommendation that the enterprise data should be stored in the organization when possible unless you need to work on it from home after work.
The last thing to say that Google had just made an announcement for Android 6.0 release that will take place in early October as if it may look like a good time if done correctly like what IOS9 is.

Blackphone is being shipped to buyers

It won't be long before this smartphone focused on privacy protection is being released. However, there may be some initial flaws upon seeing the specs of this device.
The first thing is that there may be front and back cameras in which I don't know if they will be intercepted by the cyber-spies even with the amount of software security inside. Maybe, there should be a cameraless version of Blackphone that can be useful for extra military security. Sure, maybe they should make that version besides shipping the original.
Another downside is how highly expensive this phone is, $629 for this giant piece of security is like holding people back from buying it and besides, the apps on this device may seem to be quite different than the popular ones. Some of the handy ones like Disconnect, secure alternative search engines like DuckDuckGo and others, etc., their camera app, etc. but I don't know if those apps will require invitation to get your friends to use the same apps as well for security. No, we don't want that. We want to use those alternative apps while being able to contact our friends through them without any stupid invitation or other notification telling me to get them to use the same apps as well. It's unnecessary for them to know those apps. Why don't we import Facebook, Twitter, Whatapp and local friends into those secure apps that easily? Why is this feature kind of difficult to implement by then? Also, can't you even know that not all people use the secure-ass alternatives like that? If something really goes wrong with the company like they're going to betray us with this privacy violation thingy through their services and apps, why don't we ditch it and use the popular and more secure alternatives?
Other than these advantages, it shouldn't be a problem using this smartphone if you're interested in buying it.

Blackphone now available for pre-order at over $500

Unbelivable, this one is available for pre-order at beyond $500 compared to OnePlus smartphone which is promised to be under that price. Between this and the upcoming OnePlus smartphones, you can obviously choose theirs if you're going for the less expensive but more secure phone. There's another smartphone which I already blogged about that runs the Firefox OS and Android and that is some smartphone you can buy in the first place.
The smartphone will be available to the number of carriers in Europe but we don't know if there will be the US release. Test units will be available in April and those who pre-order the phone will eventually use it in June. But over $500 pre-order price? You may still want to wait until the phone is released to see if there's a different price next time.

Blackphone

What? Another Android derived OS on a secure phone? This won't be like 100% perfect! Can't they come up with the embedded Linux OS for that? Why is it based on Android? The smartphone version of Ubuntu called Ubuntu Touch is likely to be arriving sometime this year perhaps to teach Google a security lesson or something but I don't know if Blackphone's OS can teach the spies the same lesson as well.
It is an unlocked phone and works with any GSM carrier, maintains your privacy and security, gives you the freedom to choose your carrier, your apps and your location. Phone calls, SMSes, files, chats can be secured through the VPN but we don't know what kind of VPN this one uses. Will that VPN be free or something?
This is developed by Silent Circle, which might have brought us their secure email service previously and right now, both the OS and that mail service are still in development and I don't know if people around the globe will be using them once they are out. The Android based OS is called PrivatOS. Another company called Geeksphone is involved in this project as well so we're looking forward to it.
